The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1555: Chapter 1555: How Is This Any Different from Tossing a Few Coins to a Beggar?

The manager still had a friendly smile on his face, as if he was very easy to talk to. With utmost respect, he said to them, ”Mr. Zachmann, Mrs. Zachmann, who is available to come with me, I will return your deposit.”

The Zachmann Family was momentarily taken aback.

Leonardy Zachmann even doubted his own ears, looking at him in shock: ”What are you talking about? Cancellation? It’s already twelve, the feast is about to start, we’ve brought so many guests, and now you suddenly tell me it’s canceled? How can it be canceled?”

Celine Tucker was the same, looking anxious, the elegant expression on her face almost not holding up: ”Yes, manager. We booked our spot with you well in advance, and all of a sudden, you can cancel it just like that. All our guests have arrived, and now you tell us it’s canceled... How are we supposed to arrange for so many guests?”

Caryn Zachmann, however, didn’t speak, but her charming face had turned pale. Not knowing what she was thinking, she bit her lip lightly, her whole demeanor in shock, not yet coming to her senses.

The manager of the Imperial Hotel maintained a polite smile that showed no fault, explaining to them in a steady voice: ”Mr. Zachmann, Mrs. Zachmann, I’m just an employee. I understand the situation you’re describing, but we must follow the orders from above, please don’t make things difficult for me.”

Leonardy Zachmann’s temples were throbbing heavily, his brows furrowing, his tone both stern and impatient: ”This is not about being difficult! Our guests have all arrived...”

He had never heard of the Imperial Hotel kicking people out at the last minute and never expected such a thing to happen to himself.

Leonardy Zachmann’s head was spinning!

Inside the banquet hall, apart from the main table, which was close enough to know what was happening, everyone else was completely unaware.

They had invited nearly half of Beijing’s elite circle to Caryn Zachmann’s welcome banquet.

The guests had all arrived.

The manager of the Imperial Hotel now casually stated ’banquet canceled,’ leaving them with so many guests to arrange for?

How were they supposed to explain this to others?

Wasn’t this just trampling their dignity into the ground!

”In any case...” Leonardy Zachmann took a deep breath, his face somber, about to insist that the banquet cannot be canceled this afternoon.

Who knew the manager of the Imperial Hotel would interrupt him, saying: ”Mr. Zachmann, I’ve said all there is to say, making it difficult for me won’t help.”

”...”

The manager remained very easygoing on the surface, but beneath that appearance, he was giving the Zachmann Family no opportunity to refuse: ”How about this Mr. Zachmann, our Imperial Hotel will compensate you with a penalty on top of the deposit amount. Would that be acceptable?”

Leonardy Zachmann’s face changed instantly, turning livid, nearly losing his temper.

This manager was polite everywhere yet extremely impolite!

Offering the penalty compensation was no different from sending away a beggar!

The Zachmann Family wasn’t lacking in money.

Moreover, their family had some standing in Beijing; the other party’s words left him with no dignity.

Leonardy Zachmann was infuriated, momentarily unsure how to handle the situation in front of him.

It was Hendrik Zachmann who went out to wash his face with cold water and came back to the commotion, striding over.

”Dad, what’s going on?”

He first looked at Leonardy Zachmann, then at the manager standing respectfully across from him, and asked Leonardy Zachmann: ”Is Nathalie Quinlan gone?”
