Extraordinary in Reality Through Magic Games

474: Chapter 455 In short, it’s all about fighting. The meeting began. Domit sat down, flipped open his documents, and looked up to announce the first agenda item, only to find the expressions of the Legion Commanders quite strange.

Except for the Sixth Legion Commander, who wore a grin as if watching a spectacle.

”What’s wrong with you all?” Domit looked left and right, asking in confusion.

Everyone looked at each other for a while, their eyes asking if they should drag Domit ”into the water” as well, but ultimately chose to give up under the pressure of his authority as the General Legion Commander.

The Fifth Legion Commander asked, ”Lord Domit, where is the Third Legion Commander?”

”Him? He’s already returned to the front lines.”

”I know that. My point is, didn’t you ask us yesterday to prepare an operational plan to hand over to you today?

The Third Legion Commander went to the front, so his plan...”

”Oh, he already handed it to me in the early hours of the morning. Then he told me that Lagu might launch a sneak attack at any time and that someone needed to be there to command the front lines. I thought it made a lot of sense, so I granted his request.”

Early hours of the morning?!

The Fifth Legion Commander grit his teeth. That damned bastard, he ran off so fast!

Domit looked down at his documents. ”Are there any other questions? If not, we’ll begin the war council.”

”Yes, sir!”

Harboring resentment toward the Third Legion Commander, everyone took turns submitting their planning documents.

Domit looked through them one by one. As he expected, everyone’s opinions and strategies were basically consistent.

Since war with Lagu was inevitable, they naturally had to seize the initiative.

The Silent Forest had vanished into illusion, and the border between the two countries had changed from the original mountains and forests into a flat, open wilderness. If a war broke out on such terrain, the method of warfare would inevitably be a positional battle of hard power, where schemes and tactics would be greatly diminished in effectiveness.

The Lake legion, equipped with trucks, would lose its advantage in mobility.

Therefore, everyone unanimously decided on the initial strategic objective: to invade Lagu territory.

Igniting the flames of war in enemy territory was clearly more cost-effective than fighting on one’s own soil.

With the goal decided, the next step was to discuss specific measures for implementation and the obstacles they would face.

Lagu had gathered hundreds of thousands of troops at the border. Among them, the ordinary humans and low-tier Professional legions were not troublesome; standard firearms combined with the Armored Corps would be enough to handle them easily.

The trouble lay with the High-tier Professionals and Saint-levels.

Considering that Lake’s eastern border might come under attack, Domit had dispatched the vast majority of their own High-tier Professionals there; the legions assembled on the western border consisted only of ordinary people and a small number of High-tier Professionals.

The disparity in top-tier combat power was vast. If Lagu gathered High-tier Professionals to raid the Lake rear, the situation for Domit and other high-ranking legion officials would be extremely dangerous.

Dam Squad could certainly shoot and kill High-tier Professionals, but their mission was to target Lagu’s Saint-levels; they couldn’t spare the time to ambush other enemies for now.

After considering the current situation carefully, Domit decided that the high-ranking officials of the Lake legion would collectively hide their movements, and the Command Post would be established in a relatively concealed location like a cave.

Lagu’s Saint-levels were also a lethal threat to Lake Soldiers, but compared to High-tier Professionals, they were actually not that difficult to deal with.

Admittedly, a single Saint-level could take on dozens of High-tier Professionals, but the former were far fewer in number. As long as a Saint-level’s tracks were detected, Dam Squad could set up fixed ambushes to snipe them one by one. Conversely, High-tier Professionals marched in a scattered fashion like a swarm of locusts; it would be nearly impossible to intercept them all.

Comparing the two was roughly like the difference between a lion and a swarm of ants.

A lion’s killing capacity against humans far exceeded that of an ant, yet from the perspective of total annihilation, wiping out a swarm of ants was clearly much more difficult than killing a single lion.

With the strategic objectives roughly formulated, everyone refined the implementation measures, and Domit assigned the tasks.

The various Legion Commanders took their orders and commanded their respective subordinate legions to set out according to the plan.

Ten minutes later, the Artillery Regiment was deployed, their muzzles all aimed at the Lagu legion’s encampment. drones responsible for gathering enemy intelligence took off first, followed by the Armored Corps moving into Lagu territory, with the Infantry Regiments following behind them.

Sniper Squads fanned out to seize the mountain and forest areas flanking the battlefield, clearing out Lagu scouts while simultaneously supporting the main legion’s offensive from the flanks.

Sunlight spilled onto the wilderness left behind by the vanished Silent Forest, falling upon the rumbling, advancing tanks. The edges of the tanks’ main gun muzzles reflected a cold, metallic luster.

...

Lagu Military Camp.

The adjutant did not announce himself, instead throwing open the curtain and rushing into the tent to report to Brando, who was standing by a sand table: ”The Lake vanguard has set out. They are expected to arrive thirty kilometers from our legion in two hours.”

”Understood. Dismissed.”

”Yes, sir!” The adjutant wanted to ask for instructions on how to respond, but since Brando remained silent after speaking, he had no choice but to back out of the tent.

Brando stared at the sand table for a long time and let out a deep sigh.

He couldn’t understand why the King had suddenly changed his mind, deciding to fight Lake to the death when clearly both countries shared the same ancestors.

Most importantly, the King had actually appointed him, a staunch supporter of the ’Returnee Faction,’ as the commander-in-chief of the legion to lead the army against Lake’s invasion.

The King... isn’t he worried I’ll lead the army to surrender?

Brando paced back and forth anxiously in the tent, trying to guess the King’s thoughts but failing to find a clue. He began to think that only if the King’s soul had been replaced would he have made such a series of abnormal moves in recent days.

”Lord Brando.” The Vice Legion Commander, clad in armor, strode in. ”The enemy is almost here. Why haven’t you ordered the Soldiers to engage?”

”Engage...” Brando spread his hands. ”The entire territory of the Alliance was occupied by Lake, and the royal families of various countries either died or fled. Is Lake stronger than the Alliance?”

”We can’t just wait to die.” The Vice Legion Commander slapped the edge of the table, then smiled. ”Besides, Lord Brando needn’t be too pessimistic. In my view, the Lake legion equipped with new weapons is indeed strong, but Lagu still has the strength to win.”

The Vice Legion Commander’s words were not blind confidence; they were a conclusion reached through rigorous analysis.

Shortly after the war between the Alliance and Lake began, all the Saint-levels in the country fled. The top-tier combat power collapsed without a fight, allowing Lake’s ordinary human legions to traverse their territory at will without having to fear a Saint-level’s area-of-effect magic.

In this regard, Lagu was absolutely different.

The loyalty of Lagu’s Saint-levels to the royal family was not only firm but unbreakable.

An absurd scene like that of the Alliance was impossible in Lagu.

The Vice Legion Commander was certain that if the Lake legion imitated the tactics they used against the Alliance and attempted to march arrogantly through Lagu territory, they would be greeted by world-shattering Saint-level magic.

Not just the Vice Legion Commander, but most of the middle and high-ranking officers of the Lagu legion held the same opinion.

Lake might be strong, but these so-called new weapons that couldn’t hurt High-tier Professionals or withstand Saint-levels were ultimately just toys. Lake’s string of victories was only because the Alliance itself had flaws; they had simply gotten lucky.

If Domit were to learn of the mindset of the Lagu high command, he would probably wake up laughing in the middle of the night—in this world, there was nothing more wonderful than an enemy looking down on you.

The reason Lagu’s judgment was so far removed from reality was not because they were stupid or arrogant, but simply due to an information gap.

Since the beginning of the war between Lake and the Alliance, Lagu had been monitoring the course of the conflict while sending High-tier Professionals to gather military intelligence on Lake.

These ’scouts’ always lingered around the perimeters of large-scale battles, observing the weapons Lake used and the tactics they excelled at, naturally overlooking some details.

For instance, the encounter between the Saint-level Professional Sadou and Dam Squad. Or the total annihilation of the Wyvern Cavalry Regiment and Dam Squad’s wiping out of the Bauhinia Legion’s High-tier Professional squad.

Missing these subtle yet incredibly important pieces of information made it unsurprising that they would draw incorrect conclusions.

Brando’s intuition warned him that things shouldn’t be this simple, but limited by his perspective, he truly couldn’t find the source of his unease.

After thinking it over, he felt the current situation was indeed as the Vice Legion Commander said: the war had already arrived, and they couldn’t just give up resistance. He forced himself to cheer up and stood to give orders.

”The performance of Lake’s Magic Crystal Cannons is very strong, and their coverage area is large. Our legion formations must spread out as much as possible.”

”If we’re too scattered, won’t we be wiped out by the enemy concentrating their superior forces?”

”Assign one High-tier Professional to each squad. Even if Lake wants to concentrate superior forces to wipe us out one by one, they won’t be able to do it in a short time.

With a few minutes of delay, nearby squads can provide support.

Additionally, please have the Kingdom’s Saint-levels prepare to set out at any time to raid Lake’s Command Post.”

”As you command!”

The Vice Legion Commander saluted. As he turned to walk out of the tent, the shouts of orders for the Soldiers to move reached Brando’s ears.
