Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Chapter 816: Chapter 816: Han Yan’s Number One Henchman’s ”Plot

Mu Chengyang kept reminding himself: Don’t make a move, don’t fight with him. This guy is as delicate as porcelain or jade, one touch and it’ll break, one touch and you’ll have to pay!

Even though he didn’t dare to fight with Han Yan, seeing Zirong, just a little guard, daring to provoke him with teeth and claws, Mu Chengyang felt it was too humiliating to just ignore it.

”You, go and try.” Mu Chengyang pointed to the horse-faced guard and said.

”Me?” The horse-faced guard was a bit hesitant, gods fighting while mortals suffer; he didn’t want to get involved.

”Anyway, it’s just a test of swords. Let the two guards have at it, shall we, Brother Han Yan?” Mu Chengyang said to Han Yan.

As long as he didn’t fight with Han Yan, nothing would happen. This much he was sure of.

”Alright, let them witness the Supreme Treasure Sword personally forged by my young master.” Before Han Yan could speak, Zirong interjected.

Han Yan knew Zirong was not a good person and was too lazy to stop him.

”Alright, then forgive the offense.” Upon hearing that it was against Han Yan’s guard, the horse-faced guard felt no pressure and unsheathed his longsword as soon as he finished speaking.

The sword glimmered, showing off the undeniable strength of a Ninth Rank Swordsman.

Zirong also raised his longsword, releasing the pressure of a Ninth Rank Swordsman. Both were evenly matched — it was a meeting of equals.

”Mu Zhong, don’t be careless. What he’s wielding is the Supreme Treasure Sword personally forged by Brother Han Yan,” Mu Chengyang directly mocked with Zirong’s own words.

As he spoke, Mu Chengyang stepped back, maintaining a distance of at least three zhang from Han Yan.

There was no other way; this guy was too treacherous and shameless. Even if it was just the guards fighting, Mu Chengyang couldn’t rest assured, fearing that one lapse would shatter the porcelain doll, so it was better to stay away.

Seeing his cautious demeanor, Han Yan couldn’t help but laugh in his heart. Zirong and the others were also internally laughing to death; it seemed this guy was psychologically scarred by their young master’s traps.

”Don’t worry, young master, how would I dare underestimate Young Master Han Yan’s sword casting technique? I will do my utmost.” Mu Zhong grinned.

He clearly understood Mu Chengyang’s meaning. Hadn’t Han Yan and his servants been boasting sky-high? This was a perfect opportunity to humble them.

Although his strength matched Zirong’s, the longsword at his waist was a rare top-grade gift from the Third Elder. Zirong’s rubbish couldn’t possibly withstand his full-strength strike.

”Make your move.” Zirong stood tall and slender, holding a sword in one hand behind him and forming a sword move in front of his chest with the other.

Hmm, quite the masterful aura, very show-off.

One must admit, this guy does have quite the appearance: handsome face and slender body. When he struck that pose, it exuded quite the demeanor of Yu Shulin Feng. Even from the crowd of onlooking maidens at the blooming age of youth, hearts were stirred.

In contrast, Mu Zhong, with his horse face, really didn’t have the best looks. It’s one thing to have a long face, but he was also excessively stocky, and being accustomed to bowing to Mu Chengyang, he couldn’t even stand upright. He looked utterly sleazy.

”Pretty boy, dare to show off in front of me? Watch me chop you with one strike.” Mu Zhong initially intended to break the sword in Zirong’s hand to save face for his master, but feeling ashamed now, he was determined to teach Zirong a lesson.

Without a word further, Mu Zhong yelled and struck diagonally toward Zirong.

In that strike, Mu Zhong used all his strength, holding back nothing. Truly, the Sword Light was starry, and the momentum was like a rainbow.

”Good strike!” Zirong shouted crisply, and his crooked long sword met the strike head-on.

However, in comparison, his strike was clearly dim and less imposing.

The onlookers nearby couldn’t help but sigh softly. It was said that Mu Zhong and Zirong were evenly matched, and this battle should have been earth-shattering and thrilling. However, it was a pity that the ”Supreme Treasure Sword” in Zirong’s hands was clearly too poor in quality and couldn’t withstand strong Qi. Hence, Zirong was cautious and couldn’t exert his true strength.

Mu Chengyang also noticed this, and a disdainful sneer appeared on his face.

”Clang!” As they anticipated, as soon as the two swords met, there was a crisp sound, and Zirong’s Qi-deficient longsword was directly knocked flying.

”How boring, waited so long, expecting a good show, and it ended this quickly?” Everyone thought disappointedly.

But at this moment, they heard an exclamation from Mu Zhong.

Turning their gaze, they found that the longsword knocked flying by Mu Zhong was shooting towards Mu Chengyang like an arrow from the string.

No, describing it as an arrow from the string didn’t quite convey the speed of the Flying Sword; it was as fast as lightning and like a shooting star, so fast that their eyes could hardly follow.

Mu Chengyang, believing that Mu Zhong’s strike could easily cut Zirong’s rubbish into two, hadn’t expected this outcome at all. With a mocking smile still on his face, he watched helplessly as the sword shot towards him, utterly unresponsive.

”Young master, beware.” On the other hand, Mu Zhong, being in the thick of it, reacted the quickest and shouted.

He too hadn’t expected Zirong would lose grip. Despite their equal strength, it wasn’t surprising that Zirong’s sword, of poor quality, cracked in two, but losing grip was indeed inexplicable.

Even if he did, it shouldn’t have traveled this fast; it almost seemed like the lad threw it himself leveraging his power.

But seeing that unbelievably ugly longsword in a deadly trajectory towards Mu Chengyang, Mu Zhong didn’t have time to think further and could only shout loudly in warning.

Mu Chengyang, upon hearing the shout, awoke as if from a dream; seeing the longsword flying like a venomous snake, broke into a cold sweat.

Fortunately, he was also a master in the Sword Master Realm.

Draw sword, twist wrist, instant slash.

The three actions flowed smoothly, extremely sharp yet not lacking in elegance.

Hearing the delight and adoring screams from the distant crowd of young girls, Mu Chengyang even flicked a strand of hair from his forehead and revealed a proudly confident smile, more master-like and show-off than Zirong moments ago.

But, those who show off face downfall.

Han Yan looked at Mu Chengyang with sympathy written all over his face.

”Heavenly... Outside... Flying... Immortal...” As Mu Chengyang slashed that sword, Zirong rhythmically recited.

”Boom!” As the last word of ”Immortal” was uttered, the longsword sliced in two by Mu Chengyang suddenly exploded. Centering on it, the surrounding air twisted violently.

Mu Chengyang’s smile stiffened on his face, and his body, as if struck by a giant stone, flew heavily away.

Following that, there was another muffled sound; the courtyard wall had a big hole smashed into it by Mu Chengyang, and the falling bricks buried him instantly amidst flying dust clouds.
