Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Chapter 458: 458 lacks understanding of etiquette, righteousness, integrity, and shame.

Mu Hanyan didn’t have time to think much, nor could he stop his momentum; he just instinctively let go of the sword hilt and his clenched fist still smashed out with force.

”Ah...” In the midst of a muffled groan, a ghost-like shadow was sent flying heavily, colliding with the rocks a dozen meters away with a thud.

”Ye Yanran!” Mu Hanyan heard that muffled groan and instantly realized that it wasn’t some powerful Exotic Beast lurking in the dark, but that unlucky female thief.

He quickly stepped forward and saw that there was a crack about a foot wide in the rock, where the poor female thief lay curled up, perfectly wedged in the crack, her neck veins bulging, gasping for air.

”Why is it you again? How did you sneak in here?” Mu Hanyan had worried and feared for so long in vain; seeing the female thief’s pathetic state, he couldn’t help but laugh and cry as he pulled her out.

”You... how did you discover...me, and don’t you... don’t you need to sleep?” Ye Yanran lay on the ground, staring at Mu Hanyan with a lifeless gaze, looking pitifully.

Her left eye, which Mu Hanyan had punched the night before, was still bruised after a day. And now her right eye had been hit again, making her eyes symmetrical like those of a panda.

”You’re not afraid of thieves stealing, you’re afraid of them coveting. Now that you’ve got your eye on me, dare I sleep?” Mu Hanyan’s heart finally relaxed completely and he said, stifling a laugh.

”Brother Mu, what happened?” Just then, Wu Qiuyun rushed out of the tent with his Longsword drawn. The disturbance was not loud, but he was too embarrassed to let Mu Hanyan keep watch alone and had remained alert, not allowing himself to fall into a deep sleep, and had heard the noise outside.

Following closely, Mu Cheng also dashed out of the tent, his clothes neatly arranged, indicating that he had not been sleeping soundly either. Despite his casual demeanor, he had also been keeping watch all along.

Mu Hanyan had been worried that they would become too dependent on him and had become lazy after a trial, but seeing their condition, he set his mind at ease.

”It’s nothing, just ran into an old friend. You guys go back to sleep,” Mu Hanyan gestured with his hand and said.

”Isn’t... isn’t that the female thief?” After a careful look at Ye Yanran’s panda eyes, both of them recognized who it was and said in surprise.

”Hmm, it’s her,” Mu Hanyan smiled and then told Ye Yanran, ”Alright, you can go now. Don’t come back again. If I accidentally beat you up like this again, it would be embarrassing for me.”

”Hmph, don’t think I’ll be grateful to you. I’ve noted this incident too, and I will come back,” Ye Yanran got up, glared at Mu Hanyan, and staggered away.

”By the way, there’s something I should warn you about. Exotic Beast Valley is not like before; it’s probably more dangerous than you can imagine. There’s still time to leave if you go now,” Ye Yanran took a few steps then turned back and said.

”Thanks,” Mu Hanyan said.

”I didn’t do it for your thanks. We haven’t settled our score yet. I just don’t want you to die here, that’s all. Humph... Ouch!” Ye Yanran snorted with pride, trying to walk away with her head held high but forgot that she had hurt her leg from the collision earlier. She only made it half a step before tumbling down.

”Ptui, ptui, ptui!” Ye Yanran got up, spitting out a mouthful of mud, her face turning red with both shame and anger.

”Look, I know you’re hungry, but you can’t just eat anything. The wild beasts and Exotic Beasts here don’t care about manners or decency; they defecate wherever they please. Try and remember if you’ve eaten any pig or bear droppings just now,” Mu Hanyan kindly suggested.

”Wah!” Ye Yanran spat out in disgust.

”Hahaha, here, take this, don’t starve yourself,” Mu Hanyan said, throwing some snacks to Ye Yanran.
