Mr. CEO, You Look Strangely Familiar

Chapter 31: Chapter 31: I’m Freezing to Death

He set down his teacup and cornered her against the windowsill, his expression softening considerably. ”You see? Even Young Master Ellsworth’s assistant wouldn’t dare make a peep, but you’re the exception.”

Nora Ainsworth was full of confidence. ”But isn’t this what you like about me?”

He tilted his head slightly, his eyes smiling as he stared at her.

She then gently opened the window. A gust of cold wind shot in, clearing both their heads. At that exact moment, Ethan Ellsworth walked out, stood in the courtyard, and turned to look up at the window.

Nora Ainsworth’s body stiffened. Unconcerned, Quentin Grant rested his head against her neck and called out to Ethan Ellsworth, who was watching them, ”Are we going out tonight?”

Ethan Ellsworth seemed to realize what the two of them were up to. He scoffed. ”Am I going to ruin your fun?”

Nora Ainsworth blushed crimson all the way to her ears. Quentin Grant glanced down with a smile and then said knowingly, ”Isn’t that your whole purpose?”

Ethan Ellsworth snapped his fingers. ”Alright, I’ll wait for you outside.”

With a stretch of his long arm, Quentin Grant shut the window, and the room was warm once more.

The two of them went downstairs together.

The sky was as black as ink.

Ethan Ellsworth sniffled. ”I’m freezing my ass off. Hurry up and get in the car.”

The four of them got in the car and headed to a club called Quiver.

Nora Ainsworth pulled up her hood, her heart pounding with anxiety. ’Play with fire, and you get burned.’

She was terrified of running into the wrong person.

Perhaps fate had a cruel sense of humor. The person you most want to avoid is always the one you’re bound to meet.

Amidst a crowd of men and women dancing seductively, her eyes immediately fell upon her fiancé, Leon Lynch.

Several glamorous young women in crop tops were gathered around him.

Nora Ainsworth immediately sank onto the sofa, not daring to raise her head.

Quentin Grant picked up his wine glass and took a long look in Leon Lynch’s direction, but said nothing.

”Young Master Grant, don’t you think tonight is rather unusual?” Ethan Ellsworth asked, the smile on his face suddenly vanishing.

”It is rather unusual. The odds of running into my own sister here are quite low,” Quentin Grant said, turning his head toward the walkway.

Jean Grant was walking their way, arm in arm with a handsome man, a wide smile on her face. She didn’t seem to have seen them.

The man was Marlon Marshall, Jean Grant’s boyfriend.

Just as they were passing the sofa, Jean Grant happened to glance over. The color drained from her face.

She stopped in her tracks. Marlon turned back to her gently. ”What’s wrong?”

Jean Grant’s eyes were fixed on Quentin Grant, her voice strained. ”My brother—”

Marlon Marshall’s heart skipped a beat, and he looked over as well.

This was his first time coming face-to-face with Jean Grant’s older brother.

He had looked him up online before. To him, Quentin Grant was proof that life was incredibly unfair.

The man had been born into the right family, guaranteed a lifetime of wealth and glory.

Quentin Grant’s business acumen was also in a league of its own. Talented, handsome, and from a powerful family—this ultimate eligible bachelor outclassed him in every respect.

Even his noble bearing seemed effortless and innate.

”Mr. Grant,” he finally managed after a long hesitation.

Quentin Grant glanced at Nora Ainsworth beside him, her head bowed as low as it could go. His own expression relaxed. ”Jean, come sit next to me.”

Jean Grant was clearly hesitant and reluctant. ”Brother, we just came to have some fun. We’ll do one lap and head back.”

Quentin Grant’s tone left no room for argument. ”Come here.”

Jean Grant had no choice but to let go of Marlon Marshall’s hand. She whispered, ”Wait for me in our room.”
