Tycoon: I Have an Unlimited Modifier

The next day.

While they were eating breakfast, Grandma Pan looked at Qi Sheng and the others, hesitating as if she wanted to say something.

”Even if young people are in good health, you still need to practice some restraint. Nuonuo, you haven’t even graduated yet. Grandma isn’t in that much of a hurry to hold a great-grandchild.”

Pan Yinuo lowered her head shyly.

”I understand, Grandma.”

”Good. Are you two leaving soon?”

The sounds from her granddaughter’s room next door had kept Grandma Pan awake until the middle of the night.

She couldn’t wait for the young couple to leave. An old woman like her couldn’t handle this kind of torture.

”With Aunt Xu here to take care of you, I can rest easy.”

Pan Yinuo actually wanted Qi Sheng to stay for a few more days.

But Tao Siyao had already been blowing up their phones.

If they didn’t go find her soon, that girl was liable to hunt them down in Nanjing.

”Don’t you worry about me. Grandma is still hale and hearty. I’ll be fine for another three to five years, no problem.”

Grandma Pan chuckled and waved her hand dismissively.

”In that case, Grandma won’t see you off later. Be careful on the road.”

”Okay.”

Pan Yinuo nodded obediently.

Meanwhile, Qi Sheng just ate his food in silence the whole time.

In this kind of atmosphere, anything he said would just make everyone more awkward.

As for the main culprit, Du Xinxin, she was struggling to hold back her laughter, frequently exchanging suggestive glances with Qi Sheng.

After breakfast, Pan Yinuo carried her packed suitcase.

Standing in front of the elevator, she waved goodbye to her grandmother.

”Be careful on the road.”

Grandma Pan watched until the elevator doors closed before reluctantly looking away.

...

The trip from Nanjing to Hangzhou only took three hours.

For Qi Sheng and the others, they hardly felt tired by the time they arrived at the hotel.

Unlike the Kempinski they had stayed at in Nanjing,

how could they not stay at their own hotel now that they were in Hangzhou?

The Banyan Tree in Xixi Wetland became their choice of accommodation.

A bellhop from the concierge department spotted the red Cullinan that the hotel’s general manager had repeatedly warned them about.

He instantly recognized the car’s owner.

”Welcome, Boss.”

The bellhop immediately opened the rear door respectfully.

Seeing Qi Sheng with his arms around two stunningly beautiful women, he couldn’t help but sigh inwardly.

’This has to be the big boss, no doubt about it!’

”Mm.”

Qi Sheng wasn’t too surprised that his identity had been recognized.

The general managers of the Banyan Tree Group’s hotels naturally had their own little group chat.

Wang Huazhang, who had hosted him before, had even sent pictures of Qi Sheng’s Cullinan and its license plate number directly to the group.

This was to prevent any clueless colleagues from offending the big boss.

”Boss, welcome to the Banyan Tree Xixi Wetland. I am the hotel’s general manager, Zhou Meng. It is an honor to have the opportunity to serve you.”

Zhou Meng, who had only recently taken the position, hadn’t expected the big boss’s second stop to be Hangzhou.

For him, this was both a source of pressure and an opportunity.

It wasn’t just Wang Huazhang from the Yuechun in Xi’an who wanted to climb the ladder; he also wanted a promotion to the group’s upper management.

”I’ve seen your file. You previously worked as an assistant executive manager at the Yuechun in Lintong and the Banyan Tree in Sanya. You just took over as general manager of this Banyan Tree in Hangzhou at the beginning of the year.”

Qi Sheng smiled at Zhou Meng. The man was considered part of the group’s talent reserve.

”Wang Huazhang and I used to be colleagues. I later went to Sanya, while he chose to stay in Xi’an. Now, you could say we’ve both finally made it.”

Zhou Meng was flattered, not expecting to have even caught the big boss’s attention.

”Wang Huazhang is very capable.”

Qi Sheng surveyed this Banyan Tree.

The Huizhou-style architecture was grand without sacrificing delicacy.

The private courtyards of the accommodation area were surrounded by groves of bamboo.

Far from the clamor of the mortal world, it flowed with a rhythm of quiet seclusion and tranquility.

Combined with the Jiang Nan garden design of small bridges over flowing water, weeping willows swayed gently in the courtyards.

It had the artistic conception of a secluded paradise.

The hotel’s smallest room types were 120-square-meter suites, of which there were 36.

There were also 36 villas, ranging in size from over a hundred to four or five hundred square meters.

As the big boss, Qi Sheng naturally stayed in the most expensive room type: the presidential villa.

A 480-square-meter presidential villa with five bedrooms.

For the three of them, it was a bit extravagant.

”Boss, would you like me to give you a tour of the entire hotel?”

Zhou Meng asked cautiously, afraid of doing something to displease the new boss.

”No need to be so careful. I’m not that scary.”

Qi Sheng thought for a moment, then turned to instruct the two girls.

”Send Yaoyao a message on WeChat. I’m going to take a look around first.”

”Okay, go ahead. Don’t worry about us.”

In front of outsiders, Du Xinxin and Pan Yinuo were impossibly cute and well-behaved.

”Let’s go. We’ll just take a casual look around.”

With Zhou Meng’s introduction, Qi Sheng got a general impression of the entire Banyan Tree Hotel.

Overall, it was considered a top-tier hotel in Hangzhou.

But it also faced immense competitive pressure.

Not to mention the absolute king of the hotel industry—Aman.

The few hotels in the West Lake scenic area alone cost the Banyan Tree a significant number of high-quality customers.

In terms of location, Xixi Wetland was naturally no match for West Lake.

Qi Sheng was rather understanding about this.

Good locations were always fiercely contested.

The fact that Banyan Tree was able to secure a spot in Xixi Wetland at all was only because its brand influence was strong enough to beat out a crowd of competitors.

Furthermore, this Banyan Tree had opened in 2010.

In terms of hardware, it was certainly a fair bit worse than newly opened hotels.

Its ability to maintain a decent occupancy rate was all thanks to the Banyan Tree’s brand influence and high-quality service.

The hotel had a chain Cantonese restaurant operated by the group—the Baiyun Chinese Restaurant.

Qi Sheng summoned the head chef and personally tasted a few of the signature dishes.

As for the taste? It was so-so.

It was, however, worth the 350 yuan per person price tag.

But for a luxury brand like Banyan Tree, it was undoubtedly dragging the hotel down a bit.
