**

At the edge of the magma lake, on a temporarily constructed platform—

Two figures, one in black and one in white, sat cross-legged.

Wei Yang held a Green Lotus Seed in his palm, sensing the vast and refined energy contained within.

”The companion seed of the Green Lotus Core Flame...”

He murmured softly, ”An alchemist must not only possess an innately strong soul, but their fire attribute must also naturally carry a trace of wood attribute. It is precisely because of this trace of wood that they can neutralize medicinal properties.”

”This very trace of wood attribute fuels fire, making the flames summoned by alchemists far more intense and powerful than those of the same level.”

Wei Yang lowered his gaze to the Green Lotus Seed in his hand, anticipation flickering in his eyes.

”Whether it works or not, I’ll only know after trying.”

”If it doesn’t, I either give up on becoming an alchemist... or I choose to devour the Green Lotus Core Flame itself.”

”Let’s begin.”

Taking a deep breath, Wei Yang tossed the Green Lotus Seed into his mouth.

Boom!

The moment the seed entered his body, the boundless and refined energy within rapidly surged forth, flooding his meridians.

Wei Yang quickly wrapped the energy with his Dou Qi and soul power, guiding the seed down to his dantian before cautiously releasing a small portion of its essence. As the energy seeped out, he activated his cultivation technique, absorbing and refining it.

As the refinement progressed, his aura steadily grew stronger.

Three Days Later

The moment he finished absorbing the Green Lotus Seed, Wei Yang’s body trembled slightly, and a powerful surge of energy erupted from him—

Four-Star Dou Ling!

Refining the Green Lotus Seed had propelled his cultivation from a Two-Star Dou Ling directly to the Four-Star level, instantly elevating him to a mid-tier Dou Ling.

Whoosh—

Opening his eyes, he exhaled a long breath of turbid air. A faint flicker of azure light flashed in his gaze.

Stretching out his fair, slender hand, he willed his Dou Qi to surge forth. In an instant, crimson Dou Qi manifested, resembling a blazing fire.

Wei Yang carefully sensed the change, even extending his soul power to probe further.

Soon, his eyes lit up.

”It’s there!” Wei Yang exclaimed in delight.

He had detected it—a faint yet undeniable trace of wood attribute. Though it was incredibly weak and almost imperceptible, it was there!

This confirmed that his theory was correct—refining the Green Lotus Seed worked!

”The wood attribute is still too weak. I’ll need to refine another one or two seeds to strengthen it.” Wei Yang chuckled.

”Brother Yang.”

Nearby, Ye Xian’er, who had been absorbing fire poison to cultivate, opened her eyes and looked at him expectantly.

She knew exactly what Wei Yang had been attempting.

Wei Yang grinned and nodded. ”This method works. It’s a success.”

”Then I’ll start refining my Green Lotus Seed now!”

Hearing this, Ye Xian’er couldn’t contain her excitement. Joy filled her face as she flipped her hand, taking out a jade bottle containing a Green Lotus Seed.

She had always dreamed of becoming an alchemist.

Now that she finally had a chance, how could she not be thrilled?

Even though she was aware that her soul power was merely average—unlike those prodigies born with naturally strong souls—she still felt hopeful.

Even if refining the Green Lotus Seed allowed her to barely gain a trace of wood attribute and she only became a mediocre alchemist, she would still be satisfied.

If she lacked talent, she would make up for it with effort.

In the future, as her strength and cultivation realm increased, her soul would naturally grow stronger, enhancing her alchemy skills as well.

If talent isn’t enough, then level will make up for it.

Once she became a Dou Zong powerhouse, she could simply rely on sheer strength to force her way up—surely, with enough effort, she could push herself to become a Tier 5 Alchemist, right?

Seeing the little girl’s excited expression, Wei Yang couldn’t help but smile.

Spending a few Green Lotus Seeds to fulfill her dream of becoming an alchemist was nothing to him.

Not enough soul power?

That could be remedied in the future by seeking out rare treasures to enhance her soul.

Noticing her eagerness to refine the Green Lotus Seed immediately, he quickly stopped her.

”Don’t rush. Wait a few days, and I’ll help you refine it. One Green Lotus Seed alone isn’t enough, and it’s best to refine it internally for maximum effect.”

Wei Yang raised his hand to halt her movements.

Hearing this, Ye Xian’er had no choice but to suppress her impatience, though she was clearly reluctant.

At the same time, she felt frustrated by her own lack of strength.

”What’s the rush? I’ll help you in a few days. It’s already in your hands—do you think the seed is going to run away?” Wei Yang chuckled and lightly flicked her forehead.

”Hmph.” Xian’er wrinkled her nose in mock annoyance.

Wei Yang shook his head, choosing to ignore her. Instead, he retrieved another Green Lotus Seed and tossed it into his mouth, closing his eyes to continue refining.

Five Days Later

After refining two more Green Lotus Seeds, Wei Yang’s cultivation soared to the Seven-Star Dou Ling level, officially reaching the ranks of a high-tier Dou Ling.

”My breakthrough speed is too fast. I’ll need time to stabilize my foundation.”

Wei Yang opened his eyes, a trace of azure light flashing through them. He muttered to himself thoughtfully.

The energy contained within the Green Lotus Seeds was simply too pure and immense.

Refining three of them had propelled him forward by five entire stars in one go!

He extended his hand, summoning his Dou Qi.

This time, he didn’t even need to focus—he could clearly sense the vigorous wood attribute intertwined within his fiery Dou Qi.

”Finally! This is no longer just a faint trace—it’s a full strand of wood attribute now.”

”I’ve officially become an alchemist! Hahaha!”

Wei Yang couldn’t help but laugh heartily.

Though he had spent three incredibly rare and valuable Green Lotus Seeds, he didn’t mind at all.

Under normal circumstances, if a high-tier alchemist combined these seeds with other medicinal ingredients to refine a pill, a single Green Lotus Seed might have sufficed.

However, skilled alchemists were hard to come by in the Jia Ma Empire, and a formula for refining such a pill didn’t even exist yet. Finding an alchemist to research it would be far too troublesome.

Simply refining the seeds directly was much easier—he had only spent two extra seeds, after all.

”Congratulations, Brother Yang! From today onward, you’ll be a noble alchemist!”

Ye Xian’er cheered, her eyes sparkling with excitement and admiration.

At the same time, anticipation filled her gaze as she looked at Wei Yang expectantly.

”You little rascal, getting impatient already? Look at you, completely distracted from cultivation.”

Wei Yang teased as he watched her.

”Hehe.”

Xian’er giggled mischievously and scooted closer, wrapping her arms around his arm and shaking it playfully.

Hiss—

Feeling his arm sink into a soft and elastic embrace, Wei Yang couldn’t help but suck in a breath of air.

”Alright, alright, stop shaking me! I’ll help you refine it now!” Wei Yang quickly surrendered, raising his hands in defeat.

”Brother Yang is the best!”

Ye Xian’er grinned and leaned in, planting a quick kiss on his cheek.

Wei Yang touched his cheek where she had kissed him, smiling as he stood up. He sat behind Xian’er and pressed a hand against her back.

”Xian’er, once you consume the Green Lotus Seed, I’ll use my Dou Qi and soul power to contain it, preventing the energy from erupting all at once.”

”I’ll leave a small opening to let the essence leak out gradually—you just need to focus on refining it bit by bit.”

”Got it!”

Xian’er nodded seriously.

”Alright, let’s begin.”

Wei Yang instructed.

Xian’er uncorked the jade bottle, poured out the Green Lotus Seed, and swallowed it.
