BTTH : Emperor Yang

Chapter 14: Chapter 14: First Test of the Furious Lion’s Roar

Qingshan Town.

Wolf Head Mercenary Group’s Headquarters.

A spacious and luxurious carriage slowly came to a stop on the street outside the entrance.

Under the watchful eyes of the gatekeeping mercenaries, the carriage driver, his face pale and hands trembling, knocked on the carriage door. ”Y-young master, w-we’ve arrived.”

Creak—

The carriage door opened, and Wei Yang stepped out.

Turning back, he glanced at Ye Xian’er, who was still sitting inside. Her face remained somewhat pale, but she forced herself to stay calm. Wei Yang spoke softly, ”Wait for me here, I’ll be back soon.”

”Mm.” Ye Xian’er nodded, her delicate hands clenching slightly. ”Be careful.”

”Haha.” Wei Yang chuckled. ”Don’t worry.”

Closing the carriage door, he turned around and shot a glance at the driver. ”Wait here.”

”U-understood.” The driver wiped the cold sweat off his forehead.

Jumping off the carriage, Wei Yang strode towards the gates of the Wolf Head Mercenary Group’s headquarters.

”You, who are you looking for?” The gatekeeper mercenary eyed him suspiciously.

Wei Yang grinned. ”Your leader.”

Inside the spacious hall.

Mu She, the leader of the Wolf Head Mercenary Group, sat uneasily in the main seat. He held a teacup in his hands, but he had yet to take a sip. His brows were tightly furrowed.

After a moment, Mu She raised his head and shouted, ”Someone, come in.”

A mercenary quickly stepped inside. ”Leader.”

”Where is the young master?” Mu She asked.

The moment he asked, a sudden unease surged in his heart, making his expression turn grim.

”Leader, the young master went out early this morning with a group of brothers. He said he was going to cause trouble for someone,” the mercenary answered cautiously.

Hearing this, Mu She’s uneasiness grew even stronger, making him irritable. He barked, ”Where did he go?”

”He said outside the town.” The mercenary started sweating.

”Go! Tell him to get back here immediately!” Mu She’s gaze darkened, and he ordered coldly.

”Yes!” The mercenary responded quickly and turned to leave.

”Wait. Bring Third Captain He Meng with you and take some men.”

”Understood.”

At this moment—

Bang!

”Ahh—!”

A commotion erupted outside, accompanied by the sounds of fighting and screams of agony.

”Damn it! What’s going on out there?!”

Already in a bad mood, Mu She erupted in fury. He crushed the teacup in his hand and roared.

Moments later—

”Leader—!”

”Leader, bad news! Someone has barged in! That guy is strong—we’ve suffered heavy casualties!” A mercenary rushed in, shouting in panic.

”What? Someone broke in? Into here?” Mu She was stunned for a moment before he nearly laughed in rage.

Did they know where they were?

This was the Wolf Head Mercenary Group’s headquarters!

Someone dared to stir up trouble here?

”Y-yes.”

”How many? Who is it?” Mu She stood up.

”J-just one person... A single person. A young man.” The reporting mercenary trembled.

Boom!

Mu She’s face turned red with anger, his chest heaving violently. He slammed his palm on the table, shattering it as he roared, ”One person? A young man? And he stormed into our headquarters? Are all of you dead?! Where’s He Meng?!”

Before he could finish—

Boom!

A figure crashed through the door like a ragdoll, smashing through a row of tables before falling motionless.

Mu She looked closely.

Good heavens.

Wasn’t this his Third Captain, He Meng?

At this moment, the Seven-Star Dou Zhe, his trusted Third Captain, was already dead.

A chill ran down Mu She’s spine. It was as if a bucket of cold water had been poured over his head, instantly sobering him up.

How long had it been?

From the moment he heard the commotion until now...

Two minutes?

In just two minutes, this intruder had fought his way from the entrance to here?

And killed his most trusted captain along the way?

Mu She’s gaze snapped toward the hall’s entrance.

There, a handsome young man in black robes walked in with his hands behind his back, his steps slow and deliberate.

Young.

That was Mu She’s first impression.

Even younger than his own son, Mu Li.

At most, fifteen or sixteen?

”May I ask who you are?” Mu She forced himself to remain calm, a smile appearing on his face. His tone was friendly.

He had no choice.

He already had a vague feeling that the Wolf Head Mercenary Group had kicked an iron plate this time.

Mu She had seen the world.

Someone so young yet so powerful... His background must be terrifying. As a mere One-Star Dou Shi, he knew he couldn’t afford to offend such a person.

”The dead don’t need to know my name.” Wei Yang stepped into the center of the hall and casually kicked aside the mercenary who had just reported the news.

Boom!

Crash—!

A weapon rack collapsed.

The mercenary was buried beneath it, his fate unknown.

”You—!”

Mu She’s face contorted in anger, but he quickly took a deep breath, forcibly suppressing his fury and squeezing out a stiff smile. ”I don’t know how we’ve offended you. Perhaps this is all a misunderstanding?”

”It’s too late for explanations now.”

Wei Yang shook his head. ”I warned you before—the price of provoking me is steep. Yet you refused to listen.”

”I just killed your son. Now, I’m here to kill you. A family should be together, after all. Otherwise, I wouldn’t feel at ease.”

Mu She’s eyes instantly turned bloodshot. His voice trembled. ”You... You killed my son?”

Wei Yang nodded.

”Die!”

Mu She roared in fury. With a flip of his palm, a dark silver blade appeared in his grasp. He stomped on the ground, shattering the floor beneath him.

Then, his figure shot forward like a bolt of lightning, his blade slashing down toward Wei Yang with overwhelming force.

Wind Blade Dance!

One after another, countless green blade shadows appeared above Wei Yang, forming a dense web of slashes.

”Die! Die! Die! No matter who you are, go to hell!” Mu She’s eyes were bloodshot, and he grinned savagely.

Wind Blade Dance was the strongest Dou Technique he had mastered.

Xuan-Grade Low-level.

It was this very technique that had earned him the title of strongest in Qingshan Town. Even those stronger than him by one or two stars had fallen to this move.

Against this unknown yet terrifyingly powerful youth, the cautious Mu She unleashed his strongest attack right away.

Wei Yang lifted his gaze, sensing the ferocious blade energy slashing toward him.

”So flashy.” He raised his hand, where deep red Dou Qi had long been gathered.

Then, he pushed forward, seemingly with a light and casual motion.

But in reality, his speed was so fast that it left an afterimage in the air.

Furious Lion Roar!

A deep-red energy lion with faint golden hues materialized in midair. An overpowering aura surged forth, carrying the majesty of a king.

Dominant. Overwhelming.

The energy lion opened its mouth.

ROAR!

A thunderous roar exploded in the hall like a clap of thunder, shaking the entire space.

”Not good!” Mu She’s pupils shrank as terror flashed in his eyes.

At that moment, he smelled death.

”I’m going to die.”

That was Mu She’s last thought before his consciousness was engulfed in darkness.

Boom!

Mu She’s body exploded in midair, turning into countless pieces.
