Ruling Martial World by Infinite Insect Swarms

Chapter 94: Chapter 92: Harvest! Demon Pill and Elite Units

”Get away! You ants!”

The Red Feather Demon King struggled frantically. Flames that had been extinguished erupted from its body once more, the scorching heat igniting the Fungal Mat. The surrounding Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi grew turbulent as the Demon King tried to take to the air again.

Even with broken wings, a Qi Sea Realm Great Demon had no need for them. It could forcibly lift itself into the sky with Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi alone.

Amidst the raging inferno, dozens of Rapid Insects charged forward, roaring.

The flames blazed, setting the Rapid Insects’ bodies alight. Their exoskeletons were burned black, and the few at the very front died instantly. But the others followed close behind.

Trampling over their comrades’ corpses, they leaped forward, opened their savage maws, and bit down on the Red Feather Demon King’s wings.

”Die!”

The Red Feather Demon King swung its three sharp claws.

These Rapid Insects, mostly at the Bone Forging Realm with a few having evolved to the Qi and Blood Realm by devouring flesh, were no match for it at all. It tore them to shreds with ease.

But the Red Feather Demon King had lost all its pride and confidence.

The surrounding Mimic Fungal Mat transformed into countless tentacles, surging forward like an endless tide. Farther away in the jungle, an infinite Insect Swarm waited.

BOOM!

The Mountain Giant Ape charged forward. It looked clumsy, but it moved through the jungle with incredible agility before slamming down hard in the center of the flames.

Its massive fist came crashing down.

WHOOSH—

The Red Feather Demon King struggled to levitate into mid-air, its body still draped with seven or eight charred Rapid Insects and a net of Fungal Mat Organization. Scorching flames spewed from its mouth.

The flames engulfed the Mountain Giant Ape.

Without a moment’s hesitation, the Mountain Giant Ape’s body erupted in blood-red flames.

Talent—Death Frenzy!

With a roar, the Mountain Giant Ape leaped into the air. It powered through the scorching flames to reach the Red Feather Demon King, its millstone-sized hands seizing the Demon King in a death grip.

It brutally dragged it back down.

And slammed it heavily onto the ground.

”No—!”

Utter panic filled the Red Feather Demon King’s eyes. Its three claws tore frantically, trying to rip the Mountain Giant Ape to shreds.

As flesh and blood flew everywhere, the Mountain Giant Ape’s eyes turned crimson.

It swung its fist, bringing it down hard like a Warhammer.

In its frenzied state, the Mountain Giant Ape’s strength was so immense that even the Red Feather Demon King couldn’t withstand it. The blows left the Demon King bleeding profusely, dizzy and disoriented.

Flying Demon Fiends were inherently at a disadvantage fighting on the ground.

Almost simultaneously, the Insect Swarm in the sky launched its attack.

Thunderbolts crackled.

They began a relentless bombardment, completely disregarding whether they might hit the Mountain Giant Ape.

The sky-blotting Black Thorn Eagles beat their wings, spewing clouds of Child Gu from their great maws.

「A moment later.」

Covered in blood, its bones broken and nearly all its wings ripped away, the Red Feather Demon King finally let out a despairing cry as its life force faded completely.

’It’s finally dead!’

Far away in the Shegu Mountain Range, Qin Yu watched as the Red Feather Demon King’s life force vanished completely, and he let out a sigh of relief.

Looking down from the sky, the entire base was a complete wreck. The casualties among the Insect Swarm units numbered over a thousand. At least thirty of the top-tier units, those with Qi and Blood like a Dragon, had died.

Innumerable others were injured.

The cost was undeniably steep.

If he hadn’t planned ahead, having the Thunder Rocs prepare a coordinated strike and deploying a large number of Black Thorn Eagles to block its escape, the Red Feather Demon King might have actually gotten away.

This was the nature of a world where ultimate power rested with the individual.

A single tier of difference was a chasm as wide as heaven and earth. To defeat such a foe, you had to be willing to pay with lives.

Fortunately, the Insect Swarm’s sacrifice was not in vain.

The corpse of a Qi Sea Realm Great Demon!

The spoils were unprecedented. It might allow him to glimpse the mysteries of the Qi Sea Realm and achieve a breakthrough in his own power. The Insect Swarm would also gain a Qi Sea Realm genetic blueprint.

A genetic blueprint containing the bloodline of the Divine Demon, the Golden Crow!

’Bring the Red Feather Demon King’s corpse back to the Shegu Mountain Range. This body is crucial for the Insect Swarm’s development.’

At his command, the few intact Thunder Rocs in the sky descended. They took hold of the Red Feather Demon King’s shattered corpse and flew swiftly toward the Shegu Mountain Range.

Even its scattered feathers and broken pieces of flesh were collected.

But the crisis was not over.

Three Immortals Mountain was so named because it was home to three Qi Sea Realm Great Demons.

Once they discovered that the Red Feather Demon King had fallen, the other two could strike again at any time.

The heavily damaged Insect Swarm might not be able to withstand a surprise attack from two Qi Sea Realm Great Demons.

The Qi Sea Realm Great Demons of Three Immortals Mountain were not loners!

If another war broke out, it would inevitably become a massive slaughter.

This base was no longer safe, so the Red Feather Demon King’s corpse certainly couldn’t be left here.

’Mobilize the forces and build a war fortress in the Mountain Demon Jungle. If they dare to attack again, I’ll make them feel pain.’

Qin Yu’s voice echoed through the hive mind.

The Red Feather Demon King’s death was rather anticlimactic, in a way. If it hadn’t been so arrogant, attempting to destroy the entire Insect Swarm by itself, it would never have given them the chance to encircle and ambush it.

Relying on its incredible speed and immense power, it could have easily broken through the encirclement.

The entire Insect Swarm mobilized at once.

The Fungal Mat writhed, extinguishing the surrounding fires. The corpses of the dead Insect Race units were dragged into the Decomposition Chamber to be converted into Energy.

Injured and heavily wounded units lay on the Fungal Mat to recover.

Deep underground, flesh buds sprouted from the scorched bodies of the lurking Needle-spine Crawlers as charred fragments flaked off.

New Needle-spine Crawlers began to gestate.

Large swaths of larvae around the Insect Nest began to mutate.

Units from farther away began to converge on the location. In the sky, a large number of Black Thorn Eagles no longer held back, flying directly toward Three Immortals Mountain to scout and establish defensive positions.

The veil of peace was torn. He didn’t believe those two Demon Kings would let this matter slide.

A new, great war would soon be upon them.

’And that Flood Dragon... I should strike first to gain the advantage! I’ll kill it before it has time to react, to prevent it from joining forces with the others.’

While mobilizing the Insect Swarm for the coming war, Qin Yu’s gaze also turned toward the underwater Dragon Palace where the Flood Dragon Demon dwelled.

Most of the swarm’s aquatic units had already been moved to the vicinity.

He had originally planned to kill the relatively weaker Flood Dragon first, then mobilize all his forces to annihilate the Demon Fiends of Three Immortals Mountain.

But plans rarely survive contact with reality, and he had ended up fighting the Red Feather Demon King first.

That didn’t mean he was going to let the Flood Dragon off the hook.

The units in the Insect Swarm were divided into land, air, and aquatic categories, with the aquatic units operating relatively independently.

Mobilizing them for a fight wouldn’t affect his other operations.

...

FLAP! FLAP! FLAP!

With a beat of their wings, the Thunder Rocs set down the Red Feather Demon King’s corpse. On the ground, prepared Worker Insects swarmed forward. Dozens of them worked in unison to haul the corpse into a large Decomposition Chamber.

Looking at the Red Feather Demon King’s mangled corpse, Qin Yu felt a surge of excitement.

Although the battle with the Red Feather Demon King had cost the Insect Swarm dearly, it had also shown Qin Yu the true power of the Qi Sea Realm. The might one could wield by mobilizing Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi was truly astonishing.

But they weren’t unkillable!

The moment the analysis of the Red Feather Demon King’s corpse began, a stream of information flowed from the Insect Nest.

”Unknown higher lifeform detected. High-purity energy aggregate detected.”

”High-purity energy aggregate is usable!”

”Analyzing...”

Qin Yu’s eyes lit up. Fragmented information from his inherited memories surfaced, connecting with the scene inside the Decomposition Chamber.

In an instant, Qin Yu knew what the ”high-purity energy aggregate” was.

’Isn’t this thing just a Demon Pill?’

Upon breaking through to the Qi Sea Realm, a being could mobilize and absorb Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi. Their body would be cleansed, and a Demon Pill would condense within them!

This was the very source of a Qi Sea Powerhouse’s strength.

’How do I use this thing?’

’To gestate Elite Units?’
