Ruling Martial World by Infinite Insect Swarms

Chapter 92: Chapter 90: Trap! Siege of the Insect Swarm

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Hundreds, even thousands of scorching fireballs the size of human heads rained down from the sky, detonating violently. The flames merged into an inferno, setting vast swathes of the jungle ablaze.

Amidst the flames, hundreds of Rapid Insects and Blood Shadow Pythons scattered in panic, letting out shrill wails.

A hint of cruel satisfaction flashed in the eyes of the Red Feather Demon King.

”Just a bunch of bugs!” it thought.

Its massive body soared into the sky before diving down once more. This time, it charged directly toward the densest cluster of the Insect Swarm. By manipulating the Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi and relying on its innate fire control ability, it only needed to repeat this a few times to easily wipe out these ground-dwelling bugs.

However, the moment it dived again—

SWISH! SWISH! SWISH!

Dozens of holes suddenly cracked open in the ground. Three hundred Thorn Snakes, which had been lying in wait, reared their upper bodies and spat out triangular-shaped Child Gu like a torrential rainstorm.

These Child Gu did not strike blindly. Under the precise guidance of the Insect Nest’s Mind Network, they sealed off all of the Red Feather Demon King’s possible evasion angles, specifically targeting its wings, eyes, and relatively soft underbelly.

Simultaneously, three Needle-spine Crawlers that had been ambushing nearby erupted from the shadows. Their massive bodies, fully ten feet thick, shot out from underground, causing the earth to tremble. Three fleshy vines shot into the air, instantly extending to a length of a thousand meters. They looked like towering vines connecting heaven and earth! Even after reaching a thousand meters, they continued to stretch out rapidly, whipping toward the Red Feather Demon King.

WHOOSH! WHOOSH!

Startled, the Red Feather Demon King let out a low roar as scorching flames abruptly ignited all over its body. With a fierce flap of its wings, it swiftly aborted its dive. As a Great Demon that had dominated the Wilderness Mountain Range for hundreds of years, it had experienced countless slaughters. Though it seemed reckless, how could it lack any defenses? Had it truly been so careless, it would have died countless times over long ago.

There was a high probability that an expert at the Qi Sea Realm existed among these unknown invaders. Its arrogant provocation had merely been a ploy to force the enemy out of hiding. Nevertheless, this sudden ambush still caught it somewhat off guard.

As it dodged, the overwhelming swarm of triangular Child Gu pierced into its blazing body like arrows. The intense flames incinerated the Flying Snakes’ wings, but the Child Gu relentlessly burrowed through the fire anyway.

These Child Gu were incredibly adept at breaching Gang Qi defenses. Even with the Red Feather Demon King’s explosive outburst of power, some still penetrated the flames and drilled into its wings, piercing through its defenses and burrowing into its flesh a moment later.

The Heart-devouring Mother and Child Gu were Gu Insects refined through a special method detailed in the Five Poison Sect’s Beta-level Low Grade Secret Technique, the *Ten Thousand Poison Gu Refining Scripture*. One of their most prominent traits was the ability to grow by devouring the heart’s blood of their host.

Initially, Qin Yu had used the Black Thorn Eagle as the host. The Black Thorn Eagle was only at the Bone Forging Realm, but these Thorn Snakes were entities at the Qi and Blood Realm! Nourished by their essence blood, the power these Child Gu unleashed was also at the Qi and Blood Realm, possessing innate armor-breaking and breaking gang abilities!

BANG! BANG! BANG!

A series of explosions erupted around the Red Feather Demon King’s body and even between its wings, sending blood splattering in all directions. The Child Gu bred by a full three hundred Thorn Snakes detonated simultaneously. Even the Red Feather Demon King had to suffer a massive loss!

Shocked and enraged, the Red Feather Demon King wanted to unleash its flame force to kill these Thorn Snakes. However, faced with the incoming Needle-spine Crawlers, it had no choice but to thrust out a pair of sharp claws and viciously clash with the piercing fleshy vines. To enhance their armor-breaking ability, the Needle-spine Crawlers’ spikes had absorbed a massive amount of Profound Iron, acting like a thousand-meter-long scorpion tail.

BOOM!

A visible shockwave rippled violently in all directions. The air trembled intensely, and even the towering trees generated by the Mimic Fungal Mat below shattered from the impact. The Needle-spine Crawler’s spike, boasting a tail diameter of over a meter, suffered a massive gouge from the collision with the Red Feather Demon King’s claws, its outer skin bursting into flames. However, the Red Feather Demon King was also sent flying backward.

The bodies of the other two Needle-spine Crawlers lashed out through the air like whips at the same time!

BANG! BANG!

Two consecutive lashes struck. The thousand-meter-long fleshy vines whipped against the Red Feather Demon King’s body, causing violent explosions. Under the terrifying impact force, the Red Feather Demon King’s massive frame was sent hurtling away, its brilliantly flowing fiery red feathers scattering across the sky.

Startled and furious, the Red Feather Demon King roared loudly, blood spilling from its beak. Yet, not daring to clash head-on with the Needle-spine Crawlers again, it shot upward into the sky. It rapidly dodged the three fleshy vines that seemed to crisscross the heavens and the earth.

It was truly astonishing. In a pure contest of strength, it didn’t hold the upper hand in the slightest. It was at the Middle Stage Sea of Qi Realm! Meanwhile, judging from their auras, those Needle-spine Crawlers were merely at the Qi and Blood Realm.

Little did the Red Feather Demon King know, the Needle-spine Crawler was the only defensive unit in the Insect Swarm. Although they could only take root in the Fungal Mat, their extending bodies could easily pierce through cockroaches. Qin Yu had purposefully stationed them at various major Insect Nests, mines, and other areas as the ultimate defensive measure.

It wasn’t just the Needle-spine Crawlers. The Thorn Snakes, having spat out a wave of Child Gu, did not pause in the slightest. With their maws wide open, they shot out more Child Gu in rapid succession, engulfing the Red Feather Demon King like a dark storm cloud.

”A mere bunch of bugs thinks they can best me?”

The shrieking Red Feather Demon King soared higher into the sky. The raging flames on its body suddenly expanded, forming a swirling wall of fire that incinerated the vast majority of the Child Gu. Then, amid a furious roar, a cluster of golden flame erupted from its beak. The moment the golden flame flew out, the surrounding air warped and distorted.

True Sun Fire!

This flame, stored within its body through its bloodline talent, was akin to its essence blood and served as one of its ultimate trump cards. In its rage, it spewed the fire directly at the entangling Needle-spine Crawler.

WHOOSH—

The golden flame surged forth, transforming into a hundred-meter-long tongue of fire that collided with a Needle-spine Crawler. Surprisingly, the Needle-spine Crawler’s fleshy body instantly caught fire, emitting a foul, charred stench. Severely wounded, the Needle-spine Crawler rapidly retracted, utilizing Earth Escape to vanish underground in the blink of an eye.

Even so, the golden flame showed no signs of extinguishing. It continued to burn underground, igniting the thick Fungal Mat on the surface.

”Stupid bugs! Go to hell, all of you!”

Having dealt with one Needle-spine Crawler, the Red Feather Demon King roared. It transformed into a streak of fiery red flowing light and swiftly shot into the sky, spreading its bloodstained wings. Driven by fury, the surrounding Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi violently fluctuated before plummeting like countless Flaming Meteorites.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The flames exploded, turning thousands of square meters into a sea of fire. Looking at the inferno below, the Red Feather Demon King flapped its wings even harder, making the flames crashing down from the air increasingly ferocious, as if intent on burning every single Insect Swarm unit alive.

However, watching this scene from far away in the Shegu Mountain Range, Qin Yu merely sneered. The moment the Red Feather Demon King had soared into the sky, the vast majority of the Thorn Snakes had already gone underground. Earth Escape was an ability mastered by nearly all Insect Swarm units. This wave of attacks seemed astonishingly powerful, yet the actual damage it inflicted on the Insect Swarm was negligible.

”Knowing full well there’s an ambush, you still aren’t running? I’m waiting for the arrival of other Insect Swarm units. What are you waiting for?” he murmured.

Before his voice could fade...

SCREECH—!

Sharp cries rang out from all directions! Over a hundred Thunder Rocs emerged like ghosts from the clouds and from behind the mountain ridges. With lightning crackling around their bodies, they simultaneously spat out their strongest Thunderbolts under the unified command of the Insect Nest!

The hundreds of lightning bolts of varying thicknesses did not directly attack the Red Feather Demon King itself. Instead, guided by the Insect Nest’s supercomputing power, they precisely converged and fused at a specific point right above the Red Feather Demon King’s head!

BOOM!!!
