Ruling Martial World by Infinite Insect Swarms

Chapter 79: Chapter 78: Flesh Aberration, Swarm Annihilation

”Are we really going to use that thing now?” The old Mountain Demon’s voice was hoarse. ”The Secret Technique given to us by the Blood Demon Sect is incomplete. It cost the lives of 182 of our tribesmen just to barely keep three of them alive, and once nurtured, they are completely uncontrollable.

”Once thrown into the battlefield, they won’t distinguish between friend and foe, and our own people will be attacked as well.”

”Hmph, if we don’t use them now, I’m afraid there won’t be another chance! Those things won’t die as long as they can devour flesh and blood, so a battlefield like this is perfect for them!” Raising its green-faced, fanged head, the Mountain Demon King looked at the thousands of Flying Demon Fiends in the sky—Flying Demon Fiends that could spit Flying Snakes from their mouths.

If it weren’t for these Flying Demon Fiends, they might have still been able to fight to the death. Even if they were no match, they would only have to sacrifice a portion of their tribesmen, and the vast majority could still safely evacuate. However, with these Flying Demon Fiends present, it would be difficult for them to even escape after being defeated!

With flight and ranged attacks combined, no matter how burly a Mountain Demon’s body was or how astonishing its strength, they had absolutely no power to resist.

This was an overwhelming asymmetrical strike!

In particular, it also saw more than ten massive, astonishingly powerful Flying Demon Fiends crackling with lightning among the swarm. A group of Fire Crows had initially agreed to join the battle, but when the overwhelming Insect Swarm appeared, the Fire Crows took one look from the edge of the battlefield and fled directly.

This was the advantage of Flying Demon Fiends; when they realized things were going south, they could choose to escape immediately.

If it were only Flying Demon Fiends, they wouldn’t actually be afraid. At worst, they could hide inside the caves and escape through the tunnels they had dug in advance. But coupled with the Insect Swarm sweeping across the land, they didn’t stand a chance at all.

”Fine!” The last trace of hesitation in the old Mountain Demon’s eyes was replaced by ruthlessness. It suddenly turned and rushed into the deep, dark cave behind them.

A moment later.

THUD! THUD! THUD!

Heavy, slow footsteps, carrying a bizarre rhythm, echoed from the limestone cave at the rear of the Mountain Demon Race. The sound didn’t resemble a body of flesh and blood; it sounded more like heavy metal or giant boulders striking the ground, accompanied by the grating noise of dragging chains.

Immediately after, three massive silhouettes slowly emerged from the shadows of the cave.

In terms of appearance, they still roughly maintained the shape of a Mountain Demon, but their height was close to thirty feet, a full head taller than even the Mountain Demon King! But they could no longer be called Mountain Demons at all—they were something extremely bizarre and evil.

Their massive torsos were covered with razor-sharp mouths that snapped wildly and dripped saliva, embedded with chaotic, bloodshot, cloudy eyeballs, and pulsating, pus-seeping deformed tumors.

A dark, dull chain thicker than an adult Mountain Demon’s thigh was tightly wrapped around their necks. The other end was desperately held by several strong Mountain Demons whose faces showed extreme terror.

As they walked, thick, foul-smelling dark green liquid constantly oozed from the gaps in their stitched-together bodies, leaving a trail of filth behind them.

While these things constantly devoured flesh and mutated, they had completely lost their sanity, leaving only the purest desire for slaughter and destruction.

BOOM!

Every heavy step they took made the ground tremble slightly.

”The Blood Demon Sect’s Flesh Golems...” The old Mountain Demon hissed in a low voice, a trace of awe and fear in its eyes.

It had personally nurtured these things.

The Blood Demon Sect had gifted them many Secret Techniques, such as the Human Pill Evil Technique, Blood Fog Secret Technique, and so on. Among them was also a Secret Technique called the Flesh Golem! It used a tribesman as a vessel, making it constantly devour its own kind. Guided by the Secret Technique, it would undergo mutation. The three Flesh Golems before them had completely distorted after devouring dozens of tribesmen.

Each one possessed a brute strength comparable to the peak of Qi and Blood like a Dragon. They felt no pain, knew no fear, and could recover rapidly as long as they devoured flesh and blood. In fact, their strength would continue to grow as they ate.

Relying on the Blood Demon Sect’s Secret Technique, the old Mountain Demon could exert some basic control. But if thrown into the battlefield, losing control was inevitable!

”Release them! Go, kill all the invaders!” the old Mountain Demon rasped.

”ROAR!!!”

The three Flesh Golems let out tooth-aching roars that mixed various Demon Fiend characteristics. Their frenzied eyes locked onto the Insect Swarm surging forward like a tide, and then... they began to charge!

SWISH!

With a casual yank, the several Mountain Demons holding them were violently sent flying, and then the monsters looked toward the battlefield.

THUD! THUD! THUD!

Their movements seemed clumsy, but every stride they took was enormous, and their speed was astonishingly fast! Like three out-of-control heavy War Chariots, they brutally smashed into the battlefield!

...

”What the hell are those things?” High in the sky, Qin Yu’s gaze instantly locked onto the three mutants.

The familiar, nauseating aura immediately reminded him of the Blood Demon Sect. Snake Demon Li Tianyi’s rotting Snake People and the monsters with giant mouths on their bellies under the command of the Blood Demon Sect Inspector shared the same origin as the things before him. It was just that these three were even larger and more twisted, and their vessels were Mountain Demons.

”Focus fire and destroy them!”

The hovering Black Thorn Eagle Group in the sky immediately dive-bombed. Dense clusters of Child Gu rained down like an arrow shower of death, enveloping the heads and joints of the Flesh Golems.

SQUELCH! SQUELCH! SQUELCH!

The moment the Child Gu struck the Flesh Golems’ bodies, a thick blood fog evaporated from their surfaces. Most of the Child Gu were blocked and deflected by this bizarre energy field. The few that successfully burrowed into the flesh instantly triggered muffled internal explosions, sending dark green toxic blood and minced meat flying everywhere.

However, these attacks only enraged them.

The charging speed of the Flesh Golems only paused for a fraction of a second before they continued to roar and charge forward. More than a dozen Mountain Demons who couldn’t dodge in time along the way were trampled into bloody paste. One of the Flesh Golems even casually grabbed a wailing Mountain Demon and stuffed it into a giant mouth on its torso.

The CRUNCH CRUNCH sound of chewing made one’s scalp tingle. The wounds inflicted by acid and Child Gu on its body began to heal at a visible rate as the flesh granulations writhed wildly!

”What a strong recovery ability,” Qin Yu frowned.

Under his watchful eyes, the first Flesh Golem charged into the battlefield, aiming straight at a cockroach that was spitting acid. The cockroach immediately turned its ferocious maw and sprayed highly toxic acid.

The acid splashed onto the blood fog covering the Flesh Golem’s body, emitting a SIZZLE of corrosion. A small amount penetrated and etched craters into its flesh.

But the Flesh Golem paid no heed. Its massive body, carrying the momentum of a falling mountain, slammed heavily into it!

CRACK!

The thick carapace of the cockroach let out a tooth-aching shattering sound, and its entire body was knocked tumbling backward. The Golem’s arm, formed from countless severed limbs, slammed down fiercely with a foul wind!

The scythe-like blade arm on the cockroach’s back met the strike head-on!

SCREECH!

Amidst the ear-piercing friction, the Flesh Golem’s arm was mostly sliced open by the cockroach’s blade arm, but it actually managed to tightly grip the cockroach’s blade arm using brute strength and forcefully ripped it!

RIP!

Accompanied by a heart-palpitating tearing sound, the cockroach’s blade arm was forcibly torn off!

Immediately following, the Flesh Golem’s other fist smashed down like a Heavy Hammer, shattering the cockroach’s head along with half of its body!

Flesh and blood splattered everywhere. The dozen or so razor-sharp mouths on its torso greedily devoured the remains of the cockroach and the surrounding Rapid Insects. Its wounds healed rapidly as it swallowed.

The other two Flesh Golems arrived at the same time.

The Golem covered in eyeballs was the most bizarre. The eyeballs on its body darted madly, shooting out scorching, blood-red beams of light.

PFFT! PFFT!

Wherever the light beams swept past, over a dozen Rapid Insects were easily pierced, their carapaces melted, and their internal organs instantly carbonized. Even a few Black Thorn Eagles gliding low to the ground were struck by the beams, whining as they plummeted from the sky.

BANG!

A Poison Burst Insect seized the opportunity to leap into the air and self-destructed with a deafening boom right beside it! Purple-black corrosive liquid splashed in all directions. Immediately, seven or eight eyeballs ruptured with a POP, leaking foul-smelling pus.

The Flesh Golem let out an agonizing howl. It casually grabbed the corpse of a Rapid Insect and the mutilated remains of a Mountain Demon from the ground, stuffed them into its mouth, and roared as it charged into the Insect Swarm once again.

In this most bloody battlefield, corpses and severed limbs were scattered almost everywhere.

The Insect Swarm’s attacks were able to deal significant damage to the three Flesh Golems, but they would recover in the blink of an eye. In fact, their auras were faintly growing stronger as they devoured!

Seeing this, the remaining Mountain Demons, despite their fear of the Flesh Golems, saw a glimmer of hope for a counterattack in their desperate situation. They let out roars mixed with terror and madness, engaging in brutal close combat with the Insect Swarm.

High in the sky, Qin Yu calmly observed all of this.

He thought, ”It really is related to the Blood Demon Sect. Bodily mutation, devouring flesh to recover...”

He remained completely unfazed.

This thing was highly likely a product of deep mutation from the Human Pill Evil Technique. The various characteristics were almost identical. When the Insect Swarm was analyzing Li Tianyi’s Ink Green Snake King, they discovered mutant genes within it, which Qin Yu had also ordered the swarm to study.

This thing was highly uncontrollable. Although it could be traded for short-term formidable power, the user would lose their sanity. It seemed like they could recover and evolve by devouring flesh, but it wouldn’t take long before they would most likely collapse on themselves.

This applied to these three Flesh Golems as well. Their defense and recovery were astonishing, but their flaws were equally obvious—they were clumsy, lacked agility, and their attacks were chaotic.

”Aren’t they being a bit too naive trying to turn the tide of battle with these things?” Qin Yu sneered.

To expect three mere mutated flesh creatures to hold off the Insect Swarm was heavily underestimating the swarm.

Growing by devouring flesh and blood? When it came to that, the Insect Swarm was their ancestor!

With a thought, a cold intent was transmitted down through the Insect Nest network, and the battlefield changed in an instant.

The Low Tier Insect Race around the Flesh Golems, such as the Rapid Insects, retreated like a receding tide. Several massive cockroaches, Mountain-Shaking Bears, giant apes, and other beasts stepped forward with roars.

At the same time, the Thunder Rocs, which had been circling high in the sky and biding their time, finally let out a cry that shook the heavens!

A full ten Thunder Rocs dive-bombed at extreme speed amid high-pitched cries, lightning flashing across their wings.

Lightning flashed, tearing through the sky, and flesh and blood blasted apart.
