Chapter 1733: Chapter 1767: Lin Zifeng’s Gift

”You are...?”

Zheng Jing grew nervous, knowing that the man who requested to see him wasn’t an ordinary person at all. Although he didn’t know why the other party wanted to meet him, he was sure it had immense benefits. Otherwise, why would such a high-profile person bother meeting someone like him, a small fry?

Lin Zifeng didn’t turn around, offering Zheng Jing just a silhouette of his back. Although not very tall, in Zheng Jing’s eyes, it was unreachable! Extremely lofty.

”I’ll ask you just one question. Answer honestly, and that’s enough,” Lin Zifeng said lightly.

”Alright, alright! Please ask,” Zheng Jing nodded eagerly.

”In your eyes, what kind of person can be considered a good actor?” Lin Zifeng asked.

Zheng Jing bowed his head in thought for a moment and quickly raised it to reply, ”Actually, everyone in life is a good actor. In the grand theatre of life, everyone plays a different role, and a truly good actor is, in fact, a winner in life.”

”So, does this mean your role in life isn’t outstanding?” Lin Zifeng chuckled.

”My role in life is just a supporting one, playing a secondary character. The world is so vast, and there are only a limited number of people who play the leading roles,” Zheng Jing’s face showed a smile full of ups and downs.

The years passed with ups and downs, sacrificing everything just to pursue dreams in the capital, living as a drifter wasn’t easy at all—sleeping in basements, eating instant noodles, squeezing into buses, unable to ensure a living even with a monthly income of eight thousand.

Thinking about it, wasn’t he a failure in life, a mere extra?

”What if I give you an opportunity now to become the lead in life, instead of a minor role, would you want it?” Lin Zifeng shrugged, and this shrug made Zheng Jing instantly feel as if fresh blood had been injected into his frail body, suddenly feeling an overwhelming surge of energy, as if possessing an inexhaustible drive.

”I want it! I want it! I truly want it!”

Zheng Jing kept nodding, his tone decisive.

”Alright, from today on, you’ll be the chief director of Huayu Group’s main production team.” Lin Zifeng slowly turned around, a smile appearing on his sharply defined face.

This made Zheng Jing’s eyes widen at first sight, drawing in a sharp breath.

”Aren’t you the person who auditioned for the troupe yesterday?”

Zheng Jing repeatedly rubbed his eyes, thinking he was dreaming, knowing that yesterday Lin Zifeng had blocked his path. Had he acted like a fat director at the time and scolded Lin Zifeng, due to his mouth, he might never have had any prospects in life.

”Hehe. Do you see any difference between the me you saw and the current me?” Lin Zifeng looked at him with a smile.

”You, you are the famous Lin Shao!”

Zheng Jing exclaimed tremblingly. Knowing that when he met Lin Zifeng yesterday, he thought it was just a chance encounter, not imagining a single sentence would change his entire life.

”Giving you this opportunity now, you’ll be the chief director of Huayu Group’s main production team in the future; do you think you have the ability to fulfill this role?” Lin Zifeng squinted his eyes, smiling as he looked at him.

”Yes! Yes! Absolutely yes!”

Zheng Jing slapped himself hard, thinking he was dreaming.

”Alright, I’ll give you absolute power as long as you have the ability. I’ll let you try your best, but you only have one chance. For you, success is only once; our Huayu Group cannot afford failure.”

”Rest assured, Lin Shao. Trust me, I’ll do my best in fulfilling my responsibilities.”

Tears nearly welled up in Zheng Jing’s eyes, as this opportunity he had been longing for so many years, he had prepared to fight for ten years. Now, a single sentence, a meeting yesterday, changed his life completely—this opportunity is like a pie falling from the sky...

”Alright, shortly Mu Yang will take you to the HR department, and you will report and receive this month’s salary.”

”Salary! No! Lin Shao, I’ve just arrived; I’d pay money for this opportunity, I don’t need a salary. Just having the opportunity from you is enough.”

Zheng Jing hesitated when it came to the issue of salary, feeling he wasn’t qualified for it.

”Think you can afford to pay? Don’t hesitate. This month’s salary is my personal advance to you. Of course, if you do your job well, money is never the issue,” Lin Zifeng smiled, finding this guy somewhat endearing.

Knowing that Zheng Jing was weak and might have some illnesses, the advance was merely to ensure he got treated.

”Thank you, Lin Shao! Thank you, Lin Shao!” Tears welled up in Zheng Jing’s eyes, he felt Lin Zifeng’s help was akin to his reincarnated parents, with such great kindness he felt he could never repay...

”Go on. Doing your job well is the best repayment to me,” Lin Zifeng squinted, smiling, then turned to face the scenery outside the window.

Zheng Jing wasn’t foolish, quickly leaving the office, but tears streamed down his face.

...

Soon, Mu Yang swayed her charming waist as she walked in.

”Lin Shao, merely upon first meeting, you’ve appointed him as the chief director of Huayu Group; isn’t it too hasty?”

As soon as Mu Yang entered, she questioned Lin Zifeng. She knew that there weren’t more than three people in the entire Huayu Group who dared to question Lin Zifeng’s decisions!

Lin Zifeng turned back nonchalantly, his hard-built physique in a suit, exuding extraordinary spirit.

”If I say I’m gambling this time, would you think it’s too impulsive?” Lin Zifeng smiled carelessly, ”Even if it’s a gamble, losing would merely mean letting Zheng Jing go; Huayu wasted some money, that’s all.”

”But he... he doesn’t have any qualifications. At best, he’s just a third-rate actor. Here’s the data I gathered today, this person is mediocre; isn’t the opportunity given too great?” Mu Yang didn’t quite understand why Lin Zifeng offered such high treatment to the man named Zheng Jing; to her, it seemed undeserving.

”Mu Jie, you’re mistaken on this point. Do you know the story of Bole recognizing horses?” Lin Zifeng smiled at her.

Mu Yang nodded.

”Hehe, actually, no matter how good a horse is, without meeting the true Bole who recognizes it, it’s merely a silly horse hauling rice, of course, maybe Bole can make mistakes too. But Bole recognizes horses, casting a wide net, selecting one hundred fine horses, maybe among those hundred horses is a thousand-mile steed! Does our Huayu Group lack money now? No. What are we lacking? Surely talent. I’d prefer to cast the net wide, if among them we can find one thousand-mile steed, haven’t I made a gain?”

”Indeed, in acting, Zheng Jing has some talent. Your meaning is that Huayu Group will spare no expense to employ any talent?”

”Yes. Zheng Jing is an absolute talent, what’s lacking is merely qualifications and experience. I believe these things are only a matter of time, soon he will surely shine brightly! Bole recognized horses, picking a thousand fine horses out of them to find one thousand-mile steed. That’s what I’m looking for, among a thousand horses, finding the thousand-mile steed for Huayu Group.”
