Chapter 1721: Chapter 1755: Competing for the Hai Family Head Position!

”Elder Yushui, actually my thoughts are simple. I just hope my sister can live a better life. But now Hai Wuyan is really too much. Not only does he establish power in the family, but he also threatens to kick me out. It’s not a big deal if I leave, but my sister has contributed so much to the family. As her brother, should I really stand by and watch as my sister gets kicked out of the family?”

”Zhilan, you should stand up first. Regarding what you said, I wonder if there might be a misunderstanding?”

”There shouldn’t be! You’ve seen for yourself what Hai Wuyan has been doing, haven’t you? He’s recognized as the top talent in the family, but what about me? I’m just a heap of mud. My leaving the family doesn’t matter, but my sister truly can’t be without the family!”

Hai Zhilan tried his best to make Elder Hai Yushui feel compassion.

”Alright, alright. I promise you, now stand up first. Let’s clear the matters and then decide, okay?”

Elder Yushui frowned, aware that family matters were difficult to decide, especially since Hai Wuyan was indeed far superior to Hai Zhilan.

”Elder Yushui, you must help me!”

”Explain clearly first how I should help you?”

”My father is critically ill now; major family affairs are mostly controlled by my brother Hai Wuyan. But today I received news saying that my brother might, taking advantage of my father’s critical condition, kick my sister and me out of the family. You’re the only one who can speak for me now; you’re one of the elders with real power in the family. If even you don’t help me, I really don’t know what to do.”

”Then tell me, how should I help you?” Elder Yushui reluctantly agreed to Hai Zhilan’s request.

”I’m planning to host a dinner in the family two days later. You, me, and him—I hope Elder Yushui can speak well for me. I can leave the family, but my sister really can’t leave.”

”Hmm?”

Elder Yushui raised his eyebrows and glared, ”Who says you need to leave the family? Neither you nor your sister can leave the family. I believe Wuyan can understand this.”

”But I’m afraid he won’t let me go so easily.” Hai Zhilan’s thoughts naturally differed from Elder Yushui’s.

Elder Yushui gave a wry smile and shook his head, ”I thought it was something serious. You want me to invite Wuyan over and speak well on your behalf, don’t you?”

”Yes, yes, although it’s a small matter, it’s crucial to me. You know, in the entire family, probably only you, Elder Yushui, can speak to Hai Wuyan.”

”Zhilan, actually I have a word I’m uncertain whether I should say.”

”Please say it!”

”Honestly, there’s really no need for you and your brother to be at such odds today. The position of Family Head is bound to be your brother’s. You really don’t need to compete for it.”

”Elder Yushui, regarding the position of Family Head, I, Hai Zhilan, have no intention to compete. It’s just that my brother is never at ease with my existence—he is uneasy as long as I’m around.”

”Well, you both are children of the Hai Family.” Elder Yushui shook his head and sighed, ”But you don’t have to worry; in two days, I’ll help you explain properly. At that time, you can make a promise to your brother.”

”Okay, okay, okay! As long as my brother doesn’t mind, I’ll agree to anything he wants.” Hai Zhilan was filled with excitement.

”Alright, since everything is clear now, you shouldn’t leave today. She hasn’t seen you in days, don’t let her down.”

Elder Yushui gave Hai Zhilan a meaningful smile, which made Hai Zhilan smile bitterly.

”Haha~ She’ll come over to see you later, Zhilan. Don’t let Elder Yushui’s kind intentions go to waste.” He took Hai Zhilan’s hands, who wore a look of shock, gently patted them, and then left with a hearty laugh.

”...”

Hai Zhilan wore a miserable expression.

He knew all too well what Elder Yushui’s daughter looked like—she was as ugly as a flower!

...

Sure enough, shortly after, Elder Yushui’s precious daughter walked into the pavilion carrying a plate of fruit.

Hai Zhilan, who was drinking tea, almost choked on the tea.

”Brother Zhilan, you’re here.”

”Uh, Chenxing...”

Truthfully, if not for his own manipulative plans, Hai Zhilan sincerely did not want to see Hai Chenxing.

For no reason other than that Hai Chenxing was an unapologetic fatty!

Her weight could entirely engulf Hai Zhilan.

A barrel-like waist, chunky thighs, and not even 160 cm tall—women of this level made Hai Zhilan retch every time...

”Brother Zhilan, you haven’t visited me in a long time.” Hai Chenxing twisted her barrel-thick waist, prompting Hai Zhilan’s eyes to widen like a dead fish’s as he swallowed hard, feeling the urge to vomit.

The reason why Elder Yushui favored Hai Zhilan so much in the whole family.

It’s mainly because Hai Chenxing has undescribable feelings for Hai Zhilan. So Hai Zhilan isn’t foolish; his family position is so low, he can’t act pretentious, and can only maintain an ambiguous relationship with Hai Chenxing.

But after each exchange between them, Hai Zhilan puked half a pint when he got home—it’s just too disgustingly sickening.

”Hehe, busy. So I couldn’t find the time to come see you.” Hai Zhilan replied with a slight smile.

Restless, to prevent Hai Chenxing from doing anything improper to him.

The thought alone was terrifying.

”Hehe, I know Brother Zhilan is very busy, so I’ve stayed at home during this time to avoid disturbing you. But now that you’re here tonight, Chenxing thinks, as a guest, how about I accompany you for dinner tonight?”

”Ah! No need, no need. Really, it’s not necessary. I ate a lot before coming, I really don’t need to eat more.” Hai Zhilan was trembling with fear.

Damn. Women like this only exist in the human world—not to be found even once in the heavens.

”Why? Brother Zhilan you used to say you loved the dishes I cook the most? Today, knowing you were coming, I cooked many dishes myself.”

As she spoke, the fatty swayed her waist as she teased, her chunky waist wobbling in front of Hai Zhilan. If possible, he really wanted to puke...

”Really, no need, Star. I know you mean well, but I really can’t eat anymore.” Hai Zhilan was nearly in tears from her pressure.

”What! You mean to say my cooking isn’t tasty?”

Suddenly! Once playful and demure, Hai Chenxing’s face hardened, her sturdy arms on her waist—displaying an image of eating him if he refused.

Suddenly, Hai Zhilan could only give in... He knew he couldn’t offend Hai Chenxing; even Elder Yushui, his sole support, would be a challenge then.

”Alright, alright, I’ll eat, I’ll eat, I’ll eat—isn’t that enough?”

Hai Zhilan wore a wretched look, deeply aggrieved.

”Hehe, that’s the darling Brother Zhilan I know.” Her once fierce expression softened into her lady-like demeanor again, almost making Hai Zhilan vomit.
