Everyone in the Group is a Main Character, Except Me Who's the Villain

164: Chapter 164 A Date with Qiao XingyueBeautiful women are a scarce resource in society, and the same goes for capable, handsome men. Mu Qingxue had never met a man who interested her since she was a child. Now that she had finally encountered one, how could she let him go so easily?

Fang Ming, however, had no idea what she was daydreaming about. To him, enjoying life was the most important thing right now. Putting all other trifles behind him, he drove his cayenne toward Qiao Xingyue’s location.

Fengheli Cafe was situated in a quiet alley near Jinjiang Courtyard.

The decor was a minimalist log style with large floor-to-ceiling windows. The afternoon sunlight filtered through thin gauze curtains, casting a soft glow.

Soothing light music played in the background, and the air was filled with the mellow aroma of freshly ground coffee beans and the milky scent of desserts.

Today, Qiao Xingyue wore a haze-blue halter-neck bodycon dress. The fabric was soft and draped beautifully, perfectly outlining her tall and curvaceous figure.

The dress ended mid-thigh, revealing a pair of long, straight, fair-skinned legs. On her feet were nude-colored thin-strap high heels, and her face was adorned with exquisite light makeup. She looked both radiant and lazily sexy.

Sitting alone by the window, she attracted many gazes from inside the shop, some overt and others subtle.

”Tsk tsk, now that is a true beauty.”

”That figure is top-tier, and her face is gorgeous too. She looks like a celebrity.”

”I wonder which rich second-generation kid is getting lucky this time...”

Faint whispers of discussion drifted over, but Qiao Xingyue acted as if she hadn’t heard. She tilted her head slightly to look out the window, holding a stirring rod in her right hand to gently swirl the latte in her cup, a faint smile playing on her lips.

Finally... she had managed to get a date with him.

Ever since their ’chance encounter’ at the Porsche Center and adding him on WeChat, she had found excuses every day to chat with Fang Ming—sharing interesting auto show videos or asking for his opinion on a certain car model.

Fang Ming’s replies weren’t overly enthusiastic, but he basically always responded, occasionally even teasing her a bit.

She could feel that Fang Ming didn’t dislike her, and might even... be a little interested? Otherwise, he wouldn’t have agreed to come over so readily today.

All sorts of signs made Qiao Xingyue’s heart leap with joy.

Fang Ming was not only young and handsome, but he also lived in a luxury villa and drove a luxury car worth over two million paid in full. He was simply the most perfect target in her mind.

If she could take things further with him, perhaps she could just live a life of leisure for the rest of her days.

”Xingyue? What a coincidence, you’re here for coffee too?”

While Qiao Xingyue was lost in thought, a somewhat familiar male voice suddenly rang out.

She looked up, and her heart instantly sank.

The newcomer wasn’t Fang Ming, but a young man wearing a flashy printed shirt, his hair slicked back with oil, leaning on an exquisite cane.

”Young Master... Young Master Zhao?” Qiao Xingyue forced a smile, inwardly cursing her bad luck.

Zhao Ruilong was a notorious playboy in Chengdu’s upper-class circles, lecherous and difficult to deal with. He had relentlessly pursued her at the auto show before, handing out business cards, sending flowers, and inviting her to dinner. He had used every trick in the book, but she had politely declined them all on the grounds of being busy with work or being incompatible.

She hadn’t expected to run into him here.

Indeed, the newcomer was none other than Zhao Ruilong, whose leg had been broken by Zhou Yuan a month ago.

It takes a hundred days to recover from a broken bone. Seeing his limping form as he leaned on the cane, it was clear he hadn’t fully recovered yet.

”Hehe!!” Zhao Ruilong sat down opposite her as if they were old friends. ”I was passing by and saw you at a glance. It really is fate. Waiter, get me a Blue Mountain!”

Could he say that he was tired of playing with Xiao Ya and specifically came to find her??

Of course not.

”Young Master Zhao...” Qiao Xingyue hurriedly spoke up to stop him, her tone polite but laced with a hint of distance. ”I’m sorry, I’m waiting for someone here.”

”Waiting for someone? Who? Man or woman?”

Qiao Xingyue felt irritated, but she didn’t dare to offend this young master too much on the surface. She could only brace herself and say,

”A friend of mine, a man. He’ll be here in a moment.”

The subtext of this sentence was: I have an appointment with a friend, it’s not appropriate for you to be here.

But Zhao Ruilong acted as if he didn’t understand. Instead of leaving tactfully, he looked displeased and scrutinizing.

”I’ve invited you so many times and you never agreed, yet now you’re here having coffee with another man?”

”Young Master Zhao, this is my private business...” Qiao Xingyue defended herself calmly, though she secretly thought things were going south.

Although she hadn’t had much contact with Zhao Ruilong, she had heard of his exploits—he was vindictive and acted without restraint.

If this wasn’t handled well today, not only would she be in trouble, but she might also bring big trouble to Fang Ming.

But who was Zhao Ruilong? How could a small-time car model like her handle him?

”Private business my ass! I want to see today which blind fool dares to snatch the woman I, Zhao Ruilong, have my eyes on!” Zhao Ruilong was already holding a grudge because Zhou Yuan had broken his leg and he had almost faced a lawsuit. Now that someone was trying to take his prey, he was even more disgruntled.

Faced with Zhao Ruilong’s aggression, Qiao Xingyue was at a complete loss. Just as she was hesitating whether to change locations to wait for Fang Ming, the cafe door was suddenly pushed open.

A young figure walked in against the slanting afternoon sunlight.

Wearing a simple white T-shirt and light gray casual pants, his figure was well-proportioned and upright, and his face held no particular expression.

Seeing Fang Ming appear, Qiao Xingyue’s eyes lit up as if seeing a savior, but a flash of worry and apology immediately followed.

Hearing the sound, Zhao Ruilong turned his head and squinted at the newcomer.

When Fang Ming almost reached them and Zhao Ruilong saw his face clearly, he was first stunned, and then his mouth split into a smile filled with deep mockery and a sense of superiority.

”Ha? Qiao Xingyue, don’t tell me the person you’re waiting for... is him?”

”Oh, isn’t this the great Young Master Zhao?”

Fang Ming walked to the table, his calm gaze sweeping over the embarrassed Qiao Xingyue before landing on Zhao Ruilong.

Qiao Xingyue wasn’t an idiot; since she had an appointment with him, she definitely wouldn’t have invited anyone else. So, Zhao Ruilong had clearly forced himself upon her.

”Fang Ming... didn’t you see I’m chatting with Miss Qiao? If you know what’s good for you, get lost. Don’t be an eyesore here.”

Zhao Ruilong pretended not to know Fang Ming was there for a date, his tone not polite in the slightest.

If it were any other rich second-generation kid, perhaps he would show some respect. But Fang Ming? Isn’t that just a dog kept by Qin Xiao?

At a time like this, if he didn’t step on Fang Ming’s face to gain some status and presence in front of Qiao Xingyue, then he wouldn’t be called Zhao Ruilong.

Seeing Zhao Ruilong being so rude, Qiao Xingyue instinctively wanted to take Fang Ming and leave, but she didn’t dare offend Zhao Ruilong. She could only secretly give Fang Ming a look, telling him not to be impulsive.

But Fang Ming acted as if he hadn’t seen it, his expression gradually turning cold. ”What kind of thing are you to tell me to get lost??”

”You... what did you say?”
