Chapter 649: Chapter 647: The President Got Drunk (Seventeenth Update)

”It’s okay now, don’t be scared!”

Xiao Yifeng looked at Zhang Xinlan, hugged her, and comforted her.

Zhang Xinlan’s eyes shimmered with tears as she reached out and tightly embraced Xiao Yifeng.

”Brother Little Feng, you’re still protecting me just like before, that’s so nice!”

Zhang Xinlan leaned on Xiao Yifeng’s chest and whispered.

”When I was young, I didn’t have the ability to protect you properly, but now, I won’t let anyone bully you!”

Xiao Yifeng said with a determined expression.

”Brother Little Feng, you’re so kind!”

Zhang Xinlan looked up at Xiao Yifeng, her face beaming with the sweet smile of the girl next door—pure, kind, adorable, just like a little girl who hadn’t grown up.

Smack!

Suddenly, Zhang Xinlan planted a kiss on Xiao Yifeng’s face.

Xiao Yifeng was a bit stunned by this sudden attack and said with a wry smile, ”You’re a girl, how can you just kiss someone’s face like that? You can only kiss your boyfriend or husband, you know?”

Zhang Xinlan’s face revealed a blush, her eyes flickered shyly as she said, ”Brother Little Feng, do you still remember what you told me when we were kids?”

”What did I say?”

Xiao Yifeng looked puzzled.

With her head down and face flushed red, Zhang Xinlan murmured softly, ”When we were little, you said you’d make me your bride when we grow up!”

Uh...

Hearing Zhang Xinlan’s words, Xiao Yifeng felt somewhat awkward, unsure of what to say. Indeed, he had said such things as a child because Zhang Xinlan was the only one who accompanied him then, never discriminating against or insulting him, which was why he had said it.

But that was just a child’s idle talk, something Xiao Yifeng had long forgotten. He never imagined that Zhang Xinlan would still remember it.

”Brother Little Feng, have you really forgotten?”

Zhang Xinlan looked a bit downcast at Xiao Yifeng.

”I haven’t forgotten, but Xinlan, that was just a joke from when we were kids, you shouldn’t take it seriously, and besides...”

Xiao Yifeng continued, looking at Zhang Xinlan.

”And what?”

Zhang Xinlan asked abruptly.

”And I already have a fiancée.”

Xiao Yifeng replied.

Zhang Xinlan’s expression changed, and she looked at Xiao Yifeng: ”Brother Little Feng, you have a fiancée?”

Clearly, Zhang Xinlan wasn’t very aware of Xiao Yifeng’s situation, as nobody had talked to her about it, so she was unaware that Xiao Yifeng was already engaged to be married.

”Mhm.”

Xiao Yifeng nodded.

A shadow crossed Zhang Xinlan’s eyes, her expression filled with loss.

”Xinlan, I believe you will find your own happiness!”

Xiao Yifeng said solemnly, his gaze fixed on Zhang Xinlan.

”Mhm~”

Zhang Xinlan responded in a low voice, her demeanor filled with loneliness.

Seeing Zhang Xinlan like this, Xiao Yifeng shook his head, looking quite helpless.

It was clear that Zhang Xinlan had developed certain feelings for Xiao Yifeng, but with the situation between him and Ye Yaxin still unresolved, he dared not start any relationship with another woman. Otherwise, things would become even more chaotic.

In Tianhai, inside a private hotel room, Ye Yaxin and Lu Xueqing sat together amidst a pile of empty liquor bottles. Ye Yaxin was already flushed with drink, her breath heavy with the scent of alcohol.

”Alright, Ya Xin, if you drink any more, you’ll be completely drunk, so let’s not drink anymore!”

Lu Xueqing snatched the wine glass from Ye Yaxin’s hand and said.

”Let me drink, after drinking I can forget all my troubles!”

Ye Yaxin said with a blurred look, reaching for the bottle of wine.

Lu Xueqing held Ye Yaxin’s hand, ”Ya Xin, I know you’re feeling down, but drinking won’t solve any problems. What exactly happened? Hasn’t the issue between you and Xiao Yifeng been resolved?”

”He... he has other women outside!”

Ye Yaxin said, her head lowered, a look of pain surfacing on her face.

”What? That damned scoundrel!”

Lu Xueqing couldn’t help but curse.

”What exactly happened?”

Ye Yaxin haltingly recounted the events, her eyes filled with deep confusion, ”Xueqing, what do you think I should do? I really don’t know what to do now. I want to break off the engagement with him, to completely separate.”

”But without realizing it, my heart has already been completely filled by his shadow, my mind is filled with his presence, every time I’m in danger, he appears by my side.”

”Whenever I need help, he’s like an angel, solving any difficulty for me. I cannot imagine my life without him now, he’s like my guardian spirit!”

Drunk, Ye Yaxin spilled her true thoughts, saying all that was in her heart, while Lu Xueqing listened, her gaze flickering, her complexion changing repeatedly.

”Ya Xin, it looks like you’ve truly fallen in love with him!”

Lu Xueqing’s eyes twinkled.

”Yes, I have fallen in love with him, otherwise why would I be in so much pain? I can’t let go of him, he can’t give up those women, what should I do?”

Ye Yaxin’s expression was one of unbearable pain as she grabbed a bottle of wine, opened the lid, and started gulping it down, only to cough violently and spray the wine all over.

”Enough, Ya Xin, don’t drink any more!”

Lu Xueqing took the wine bottle away from Ye Yaxin and helped her to the sofa on one side where she directly dozed off.

Lu Xueqing took out her phone and made a call.

Ten minutes later, Xiao Yifeng appeared, his gaze at the flushed and alcohol-scented Ye Yaxin causing his brow to furrow.

”What happened here?”

Xiao Yifeng asked involuntarily.

”You still have the nerve to ask, isn’t it all because of you? Your philandering has exceeded my imagination, even hooking up with an employee from Ya Xin’s company and hiding it, making Ya Xin upset and drowning her sorrows in drink, seeking oblivion in alcohol!”

Lu Xueqing glared at Xiao Yifeng, huffing coldly.

”I’ve wronged her!”

Regret colored Xiao Yifeng’s eyes as he spoke.

”Now that you know, just so you’re aware, Ya Xin said she’s fallen in love with you and can’t cut you out of her heart. I hope you’ll treasure her properly and not let her be hurt anymore. As for those women, you better settle the matter yourself.”

Lu Xueqing said in a grave tone.

”Thank you.”

Xiao Yifeng nodded, walked over, and carried Ye Yaxin away from the private room.

”Ah...”

Lu Xueqing sighed inexplicably, her eyes shimmering with an indescribable gleam.

At the Haitang Flower Garden Villa, Xiao Yifeng rang the doorbell, and Ye Yashi opened the villa door.

”Sis, brother-in-law, what’s happened?”

Ye Yashi looked in shock at the drunken Ye Yaxin.

”Your sister’s drunk, it’s nothing.”

Xiao Yifeng briefly commented and, holding Ye Yaxin, headed upstairs into her room.

Gently placing Ye Yaxin on the bed, Xiao Yifeng looked at her intently, his hand softly caressing Ye Yaxin’s face, his eyes filled with tenderness.

”I’m sorry!”

Xiao Yifeng whispered softly.
