”President Ye, it might not be up to you to decide, but for us, the police, to determine. We are now going to take the suspect into custody. If you intend to obstruct, you would be breaking the law, and when that happens, don’t blame me for not showing respect to Old Master Ye.”

Sun Ping said with an indifferent look on his face.

”Arrest him!”

Sun Ping ordered again, and at Fang Wu’s wave, several police officers charged toward Xiao Yifeng, their eyes wary as they kept a close watch on him.

Xiao Yifeng’s terrifying blow just now had left a deep impression on them and even instilled a hint of fear in their hearts.

If it were not for their numbers and the fact that they were armed, they would not dare to casually arrest Xiao Yifeng. At that moment, several of them had their hands on their waists, ready to draw their guns at any moment.

Standing to one side, Xiao Ruolin watched the officers approaching Xiao Yifeng with a hint of worry in her eyes.

”Do you have evidence that he’s the murderer?”

Ye Yaxin spoke again, looking at Sun Ping.

”Do you think we would come here without evidence? President Ye, you better not say any more. This guy killed my only son, and I won’t let him get away with it,” Sun Ping spat coldly.

”Ye Family girl, tell Old Master Ye that his son-in-law killed my grandson. I will remember this grudge. This matter is not over, and neither should he think about saving anyone, otherwise do not blame me for being unkind!”

At that moment, Qi Zhenghua said coldly to Ye Yaxin, his face stern, exuding an intense aura of a superior.

Ye Yaxin’s expression changed repeatedly as she looked at Qi Zhenghua, but she dared not say anything, fully aware of the other’s identity.

As the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, he was the leader of not just the Jiangnan but also the southern business community, a personage of significant influence, far above her status as the president of Ye Corporation.

He was someone whom many high-ranking officials and nobles had to treat with respect. Facing such a figure, it was natural for her not to dare say anything more.

However, she was also aware of the difficulty of the situation. If Xiao Yifeng truly killed Qi Zhenghua’s grandson, even her grandfather’s intervention might not suffice.

”I’ll come with you!”

At that moment, Xiao Yifeng, watching the group of police officers approach, spoke calmly, then looking at them as they took out handcuffs, said coldly, ”I don’t like wearing those.”

”Take him away directly,” Fang Wu said, looking at Xiao Yifeng. He didn’t insist on using handcuffs, considering Xiao Yifeng’s status—such a request wasn’t too much.

Qi Zhenghua’s aged eyes stared at Xiao Yifeng, flickering with a chilling coldness.

And so, Xiao Yifeng was led away by a group of police officers, and Qi Zhenghua, Sun Ping, and the others all left the scene.

”President, you have to think of a way to save the Boss!”

Dahu and Erhu said to Ye Yaxin urgently.

”Hmph, what’s there to save about such a murderer? Saving him would simply tarnish the Ye Family’s honor. If word of this gets out, who knows how badly it will affect the Ye Corporation,” said Ye Tianchen with a cold smirk, his expression reveling in schadenfreude as he looked at Ye Yaxin:

”Sister, I think you should dissolve your engagement with him as soon as possible. Otherwise, the whole Ye Corporation and the Ye Family could end up suffering because of him.”

”You... What nonsense are you spouting? Don’t talk about the Boss like that!”

Erhu glared at Ye Tianchen with indignation in his eyes.

”Oh, so a mere security guard dares to talk back to me like this, huh? Your pillar of support is about to be jailed now. Believe it or not, I can have you fired this instant?”

Ye Tianchen looked threateningly at Dahu and Erhu, with Xiao Yifeng absent, he had regained his swagger.

”Enough, shut your mouth!”

Ye Yaxin glared at Ye Tianchen and ordered, promptly silencing him.

Then, Ye Yaxin quickly left the place, heading to the Ye Family’s residence to inform Ye Tianxiong of the situation.

At the same time, Hu Jie, Hu Mingrui, and their associates received the news of Xiao Yifeng’s arrest with great joy.

”This time the kid killed Qii Zhenghua’s grandson, he’s definitely doomed, not even Ye Tianxiong can save him!”

In an office, Hu Mingrui was smoking a cigar, his face lit up with a smile.

Beside him, Hu Jie’s eyes twinkled with a cold light as he sneered, ”Once he’s completely done for, I’ll take down Ye Yaxin, and the entire Ye Corporation will be ours.”

”Hahaha!”

Father and son exchanged looks and laughed together.

The news that the Ye Corporation’s President’s fiancé had killed the grandson of the merchant association’s chairman spread quickly through Tianhai City like lightning, causing an uproar. Everyone was shocked.

As upper-class figures of Tianhai, everyone knew of the merchant association, the largest in Jiangnan and perhaps even the entire south.

Comprised of over a dozen publicly-listed companies, each with assets over ten billion, it controlled two-thirds of Jiangnan’s economy, a colossal force.

Qii Zhenghua, as the chairman of the merchant association, was a towering figure in the commercial sectors of Jiangnan and even the entire south, revered and worshipped by countless, and held a status and power that could be described as reaching the heavens.

With just one word from him, countless enterprises could collapse instantly; such a figure was not someone people dared provoke.

Now that his only grandson had been killed, and the murderer was none other than the President’s fiancé of the Ye Corporation, many were shocked beyond belief.

However, they were filled with anticipation and eagerness to watch what would happen next, waiting to see how the Ye Family, one of Tianhai’s Four Great Families, would react when facing the formidable merchant association.

Yet, many knew that even if Master Ye of the Ye family, Ye Tianxiong, were to intervene, he probably couldn’t save his future son-in-law.

Although Ye Tianxiong was also one of the top figures in the commercial sectors of Jiangnan and the south, the current strength of the Ye Family was not enough to compare with the prospering merchant association.

Moreover, many were aware that Master Ye of the Ye family, Ye Tianxiong had once competed with Qii Zhenghua for the position of the chairman of the merchant association.

In fact, Ye Tianxiong’s chances and expectations were far greater than Qii Zhenghua’s, but in the end, he gave up and completely withdrew from the scene.

Qii Zhenghua thus smoothly became the chairman of the merchant association, but who would have thought that such an incident would occur now? Truly dramatic indeed!

At the Ye Family’s residence, in the main hall.

Ye Tianxiong was dressed in a traditional Tang suit, with a slight frown on his face, while the butler Mu Feng stood by the side, and Ye Yaxin stood in front of him, her expression anxious.

”Grandfather, what do we do now?” Ye Yaxin asked anxiously.

”This matter will not be easy to resolve. I know Qii Zhenghua’s nature; he will go to any lengths to achieve his goals, and he’s ruthlessly determined.”

”Now that his grandson is dead, he definitely won’t let the matter rest. I’ll go to the police station in person. No matter what, we can’t let anything happen to Yifeng.”

Having said that, Ye Tianxiong got up and walked towards the exit.
