The Darling of Heaven Owns a Rip-off Shop

”Ah, I forgot to add her WeChat to the group.” Huang Shiyuan mumbled while brushing her teeth.

”Her phone isn’t a smartphone, she doesn’t have WeChat.” Han Ting suddenly said.

”What?” Huang Shiyuan’s eyes widened, then she thought it over. Right, Zhang Mengfei’s family situation must be pretty rough. Not having a smartphone isn’t that surprising. ”Well, nothing we can do about that. I know the work-study program has positions available at the school, she can apply for it. The work is pretty easy, it won’t interfere with her studies, and she can earn some money.”

”I think we shouldn’t mention this for now. If not handled properly, she might think we’re pitying her. If she’s willing to accept others’ kindness, that’s fine, but if she’s sensitive and thinks we’re looking down on her, it’ll just be a good deed gone wrong.” Han Ting said seriously.

”True, you’re always so considerate. We’re not that familiar with her yet, saying something rashly might not be good. So, what are we doing today? Wandering around the school? There’s a pedestrian street outside the campus with plenty of food stalls.” Huang Shiyuan said eagerly, ”Let’s get some breakfast, then go shopping, and have lunch on the pedestrian street.”

”I think I get it now.” Han Ting glanced at Huang Shiyuan’s belly.

”Why? What did you get?” Huang Shiyuan asked.

”Not an inch of the fat on your belly is innocent.” Han Ting laughed, pinching her own belly, ”Of course, mine isn’t either.”

”Hahaha...” Huang Shiyuan was laughing heartily but then glanced at Tianmiao calmly brushing her teeth beside her, and her laughter faded, turning into a sad face, ”Looking at Tianmiao’s belly, I laughed so hard I cried.”

”Hahahaha!” This time it was Han Ting’s turn to burst into laughter.

”Alright, for the sake of your soft, chubby bellies, I’ll be generous and treat you to a big meal at lunch.” Tianmiao couldn’t help but chuckle as she watched these two hilarious friends.

”Alright! You said it, so I won’t hold back.” Huang Shiyuan patted her belly.

”We’ll talk about dieting after this meal.” Han Ting said with a smile, ”Tianmiao’s treating! Treating us to a feast, we’re going to eat like kings.” Han Ting had actually noticed the bag Tianmiao carried. It wasn’t just a brand-name bag; it was the fighter jet of brand-name bags, a global limited edition! Huang Shiyuan didn’t recognize it, but she did. Tianmiao’s family might own a mine!

...

Zhang Mengfei left early in the morning to explore the campus. The school was indeed very large, and if she walked, it would take a long time and be very tiring. She rented a bicycle and rode around the campus. Along the way, she saw many people, and her impression of them was vibrant, stylish, and dazzling. She looked down at her own clothes and, somehow, lost interest in exploring further.

Compared to those people, her clothes looked really unfashionable, really unfashionable.

The feeling of inferiority weighed on her, making it hard to breathe.

...

Tianmiao and the others had lunch and were walking back.

They didn’t continue shopping, for the same reason: they were full and felt like sleeping...

The three of them planned to take a nap after returning. When they got back to the dormitory, they saw Zhang Mengfei already sitting inside.

”Zhang Mengfei, have you had lunch?” Huang Shiyuan greeted her.

”Oh, yes. How about you all?” Zhang Mengfei snapped out of her thoughts and asked with a smile.

”We ate. You got up too early this morning, we didn’t even see you when we woke up. We were going to invite you to go shopping and have lunch with us.” Huang Shiyuan said.
