Upon seeing the sniper rifle with its incredibly long barrel in Earl Gary’s hands, Apel, though knowing little of such things, felt a frightening and lethal sense of danger from the Earl’s words and the weapon’s cold gleam. Her pretty face turned pale once more.

”Miss Apel, you should be able to agree to a romantic dinner with me now, shouldn’t you?” Aso Naijiro said, a smug smile spreading across his lips, confident he had Apel and Chen Fei cornered. His plump, pig-like face beamed with pride.

”Kid, I’m guessing you must be from South Korea or Huaxia, huh? Your English is quite good, I’ll give you that… but remember this for next time: this is Italy, not your country. In Italy, choosing to anger me, Gary, and offending our Sicilian Family is a very unwise decision. The consequences will be severe and terrifying!”

Though Earl Gary also seemed interested in Apel, Aso Naijiro had already beaten him to the punch. Factoring in their families’ business dealings, the Earl could only brush it aside, shifting his focus to show off his power to the young man before him. Only then could he feel a sense of accomplishment.

After speaking, Earl Gary deliberately glanced at the throng of armed bodyguards that was quickly closing in. A smirk of derision touched his lips as his gaze fell on Chen Fei, and he continued with a sneer, ”Kid, listen up. Because you just insulted me, Earl Gary, and Mr. Naijiro, I’ve decided to give you two choices. One, let my men riddle you with bullets. Two, kneel down right now, kowtow, and lick my shoes and Mr. Naijiro’s!”

”Chen…” Hearing Earl Gary’s brazen words, Apel’s hands, which were holding Chen Fei’s arm, tightened instinctively. Her beautiful eyes filled with panic and hesitation. Earl Gary’s words were a stark reminder that she had perhaps gotten ahead of herself. Yes, she knew Chen was a man of status and influence, but right now, they were on his enemy’s turf. Could Chen really stop bullets with his bare hands? Could he really stand against so many bodyguards from the Sicilian Family, all armed with modern weapons? The thought deepened the pallor on her exquisite face.

Suddenly, she bit her lip, stepped in front of Chen Fei, and spoke urgently to the two men, ”Earl Gary, Mr. Aso Naijiro, I can have dinner with you tonight—”

Seeing such a captivating beauty, an angelic woman like Apel, debasing herself before them with a look of helpless pleading, the expressions of satisfaction on the faces of Earl Gary and Aso Naijiro instantly intensified. While savoring her desperate pleas, their gazes toward Chen Fei grew even more disdainful and contemptuous.

A punk like him dares to act so presumptuously in front of us? Now he knows his place. He’s completely overestimating himself, courting death!

However, before Apel could finish her pained plea, a hand suddenly blocked her way. A somewhat resigned voice calmly said, ”That’s enough, Apel. Stop talking. Get behind me.” The one who spoke was, of course, none other than Chen Fei, Young Master Chen.

”Chen… alright, then.” Apel had wanted to say more, but when her eyes met Chen Fei’s and she saw the firm resolve in them and the slight shake of his head, she immediately fell silent and obediently moved behind him.

”…I’m sorry, Chen,” she whispered as she stepped back. She realized her actions had likely wounded his pride as a man. She shouldn’t have acted on her own like that.

”Hey, there’s nothing to apologize for. Don’t worry,” Chen Fei said, a hint of warmth in his eyes. He reached out and gently stroked Apel’s soft hair, shaking his head with a smile. ”Those two are nothing but clowns in my eyes. There’s no need for you to be so frightened and willing to compromise.”

At the very least, Apel is trying to protect my pride as a man. That gesture alone is enough to warm my heart. As for these guys, they’re nothing but a bunch of clowns! Not even worth mentioning.

”Kid, don’t think I, Gary, wouldn’t dare to kill you just because you look like you have some connections. Let me tell you, here in Italy, for the Sicilian Family to make anyone disappear is as easy as crushing an ant!” Earl Gary barked, immediately annoyed. Seeing this young man maintain such a nonchalant and cocky expression, even now, felt as if his own limelight had been stolen, and he seethed with hatred.

”Kid, I can tell you’re from Huaxia, right?” Aso Naijiro sneered, his plump, round face twisting with jealousy at the intimacy between Chen Fei and Apel. ”You’re truly arrogant beyond measure, daring to oppose Earl Gary of the Sicilian Family here in Italy! Do you really think you have nine lives?”

”Oh, is that so? The Sicilian Family, you say?” Chen Fei’s lips curled in contempt as he scoffed. ”I’m sorry, but when did Italy adopt the surname Sicily? Even if Italy were to have a family name, wouldn’t it be Brad, not Sicily? What do you think?” The Sicilian Family? Sorry, but I really have no idea what that is. Are they supposed to be impressive?

”Brad? You’re talking about the Brad Family?” Earl Gary and Aso Naijiro reacted as if they’d just heard the most ludicrous thing in the world, bursting into uproarious laughter filled with mockery and disdain. ”Haha, are you trying to tell us that the Brad Family would stand up for a brat from Huaxia who’s still wet behind the ears? Please, stop joking. That’s not funny at all! Hahaha…”

The Brad Family? Why in the world would the Brad Family stand up for a yellow-skinned monkey who’s still wet behind the ears? In his dreams! Does he think we’re fools?

”Kid, it seems you really want to find out what it feels like to have your head blown off by a sniper rifle,” Aso Naijiro growled, his face a mask of distorted fury. ”Fine then, I’ll grant your wish right now!” He snatched the rifle from Earl Gary’s hands, aimed it steadily at Chen Fei with a vicious smile, and pulled the trigger without hesitation.

BANG!

The silenced sniper rifle let out a muffled report, and a streak of cold light shot toward Chen Fei with deadly intent.
