Reborn and Counterattack: The CEO's Powerful Sweetheart

Chapter 1217: Chapter 1216: You’re a Genius

A region like a Dark Abyss, stairs without a boundary.

Gu Tong and Xia Xi seemed to be swallowed by darkness, unable to find the path forward.

If it were any regular moment, they might pause to search for the path around them.

However...

Clearly, the current situation doesn’t allow them to do so.

Gu Tong slightly frowned, said: ”Light!”

The tunnel below was so dark that you couldn’t see your hand in front of your face; they couldn’t see anything and needed the light to illuminate the road ahead.

There are too many unpredictable elements within the tomb, all sorts of dangers could exist; they cannot impulsively make rash choices. The old man is so clever, if he set up some kind of array, they would be trapped within, and that would be regrettable.

Xia Xi hurriedly opened the backpack, reached in to search, pulled out a flashlight, and said: ”We can’t leave the outside door open like this, otherwise, it’s like instead of waiting for a rabbit, we are catching a turtle in a jar...”

”...” If you can’t use idioms, don’t use them. How could you say such an unlucky thing?

What does it mean to catch a turtle in a jar, who is the turtle?

Gu Tong twitched the corners of her mouth twice, said: ”The inside and the outside should correspond, there must be a way to decipher this, otherwise, the door cannot be closed.”

The old man’s temperament is eccentric, leaving many things based on his interests, it’s hard for ordinary people to grasp the sequence.

Gu Tong is just relying on her guesswork that both opening and closing the doors need to have a corresponding sequence.

Xia Xi widened her eyes, said: ”We just solved the chess puzzle, we won’t have to break it again, will we? I’m mentally exhausted, I can’t take it anymore...”

Understand, they are not on safe ground right now, but in a passive situation facing wolves in front and tigers behind.

If they are careless, they could be discovered directly.

By then, the consequences would be a dire situation.

Thinking about this possibility made Xia Xi agitated, fearing the Trainee would catch up and encounter any accident.

Gu Tong rolled her eyes, said: ”According to the theory, opening is positive, closing is negative, as long as we reverse the chess puzzle setup, we can close the door.”

Gu Tong used the flashlight to examine the stone slabs on either side, discovered they had the same pit and bump arrangement as outside.

This further solidified her guess!

Both positive and negative are all within a single thought, also complementary to each other.

Of course...

This is a guess, also a dangerous experiment!

The possibility of unsuccessfulness also exists.

Gu Tong pressed her lips, said: ”Let’s start!”

Since it’s reversed, the first step would be the last move of the red side in chess.

Gu Tong decisively pressed on that position, Red’s rook advances four, five!

’Click--’

Unlike the front side, this time, the stone slab moved first.

Xia Xi was elated, said: ”Got it right, you’re brilliant, it’s a reversed chess puzzle...”

The old man’s thoughts are really peculiar, using chess puzzles as the layout whether positive or negative, as if he foresaw book lovers would encounter trouble.

Gu Tong did not slack, continued with Black’s advisor advances six, five!

’Click--’

The stone slab moved again.

The gap gradually shrank, the raindrops seeping in also started to reduce.

...

”Did you hear anything? I heard sounds from the Old Tomb!” The villager returning from search frowned, said: ”Could it be those scoundrels left people in the Old Tomb?”

The people who stormed into the village earlier caused quite a ruckus.

Now, the entire village is restless, everyone is searching for those Tomb Raiders.
