Reborn and Counterattack: The CEO's Powerful Sweetheart

Chapter 595: 595: Large-scale Medical Disturbances

”Hmm, it’s me!”

Gu Tong’s brilliant pupils flashed slightly. With emotions neither servile nor overbearing, she said evenly, ”I want to know about the patient’s condition!”

The Doctor was slightly taken aback, not expecting Gu Tong to be so direct...

However, being direct was also a good thing, so he said, ”This way please, officer, let me tell you, our local hospital is now...”

...

”Shameless Doctor! Useless Doctor! Give us back our dad...”

The Doctor’s words were interrupted before he could finish.

Instinctively alarmed, he turned to look outside the quarantine area, but it was already packed with people.

Groups of family members surrounded the doorway, holding long banners, shouting, ”Black-hearted Doctor! Took away our father! Now won’t even let the family see him...”

”Give us back our father. He’s old and can’t endure your torment. We beg you to give him back to us...” The patient’s daughter in her thirties was also causing a scene.

”Bring back the elderly, we want our family member back...”

The commotion grew louder and louder, spreading throughout the entire quarantine zone, even disturbing the resting patients!

The doctors close to the entrance had already rushed to stop it, but it was to no avail, instead escalating further.

...

”What’s going on?”

Gu Tong frowned and asked the Doctor leading her forward.

Such a large-scale medical disturbance is extremely detrimental to the patient’s physical and mental well-being!

”This matter is difficult to explain in a few words... Our hospital received an elderly man a few days ago. He called for help himself, asking us for rescue, and said, absolutely do not contact his family...”

The Doctor sighed and continued, ”He said his children were unfilial. When he got sick, they thought of letting him fend for himself, to die on his own, not wanting to treat him. Now they just want to divide his inheritance. If he doesn’t stay in the hospital, he will die faster. There’s no way to escape their pestering, so he ran here...”

”Are you sure the elderly man is sick?” Gu Tong raised an eyebrow.

The hospital is the easiest place to witness the highs and lows of human nature—unattached parents, unfilial children, discordant couples, scrambling for inheritance, giving up treatment!

The hospital is not a place to solve family disputes, but since the elderly man was indeed ill, they had no choice but to take him in. Doctors have seen a lot over the years and are no longer surprised!

However, precisely because of this, they also feel a sense of powerlessness!

Originally responsible for saving lives, Angels in White actually have to mediate family disputes...

Anyone would find this exhausting...

”He is sick, and quite seriously. The matter got big, and they sought the local office for mediation. After verification, they found it’s just as the old man said.”

”However, as a hospital, we can’t be too forceful, so sometimes, there’s really not much we can do...”

They have called the police several times, but each time it’s a simple mediation, never a complete resolution!

The Doctors watch anxiously but have no solution, feeling stifled...

”No way?”

A cold light flashed in Gu Tong’s eyes. She glanced at the family members outside the door and said, ”This is the critical care area! They can’t be allowed to cause a scene like this. If they really want to see the old man, just let them all in, and no one leaves!”

”This...” The Doctor’s eyes widened, understanding what Gu Tong meant.

However, he didn’t take it seriously and took it as a remark of frustration.

He thought for a moment, wanting to comfort Gu Tong, telling her not to be angry.

But in the next second, he was dumbfounded...

”Sir, sir, where are you going...”
