Reborn and Counterattack: The CEO's Powerful Sweetheart

Chapter 592: 592: Facing What Monster

”Prevention is important! But treatment is even more crucial!”

In the fight against such a terrifying pandemic as SARS, there are two approaches: prevention and treatment, both must progress simultaneously.

This is the eternal effective method when dealing with infectious diseases.

The members of the research team all wish to quickly develop a special elixir for the disease to resolve the urgent crisis, which is understandable.

However, as experts and authorities in the medical field, they naturally cannot avoid considering the issue comprehensively.

Gu Tong’s statement was to first control the further spread of the pandemic, then immediately proceed with treatment; there’s no time to argue over which should come first, prevention or treatment.

Gu Tong’s perspective reminded the experts, finally putting an end to the debate.

This special meeting thus started from the angle of controlling the disease.

”Treatment?”

Sheng Guoli certainly knows the importance of treatment.

But under extraordinary circumstances, they definitely need to temporarily set this aside and prioritize prevention.

”Focusing solely on prevention will only lead to polarization! Patients currently without a special elixir will be isolated, and the mental issues of the patients are also a primary consideration!”

Doctors are far from just two simple words; the issues they need to address are too numerous!

Both the physical and mental well-being of patients are within their range of considerations!

”What do you know, young lady! The horror of SARS, and its infectiousness, is no child’s play!”

Sheng Guoli was somewhat irritated and slapped the table as he said this.

However, Gu Tong’s focus was not on his words, but on that word SARS!

The name of the disease has remained unchanged over two eras―――

But the time of outbreak was advanced by several years!

Gu Tong pondered back and forth but couldn’t understand where the problem lay!

”The clinical symptoms are acute, usually with fever as the main symptom, body temperature generally above 38 degrees, often showing continuous high fever, accompanied by chills, muscle aches, joint pain, headaches, fatigue, and it’s usually difficult to control the fever with antipyretics.”

This was the result obtained after Gu Tong’s investigation, further highlighting the obvious traits and conditions of SARS!

It’s just that now SARS has just broken out, and the experts had not experienced it, so definitely they lacked the comprehensive analysis Gu Tong had!

”Continue speaking!”

Sheng Guoli frowned.

”There is also coughing, mostly dry cough, with little phlegm, a small number of patients experience sore throat, often without upper respiratory tract congestion symptoms, there may be chest tightness, in severe cases, gradually developing accelerated breathing, shortness of breath, even respiratory distress.”

Gu Tong’s description became more and more detailed, causing many in the meeting room to be slightly stunned...

They were all captivated by Gu Tong’s words, internally contemplating the content of her speech!

”Some patients develop gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting. Auscultation can detect faint crackles in the lungs or signs of lung solidification, as well as signs of local dull percussion, reduced breath sounds, and small amounts of pleural effusion.”

Gu Tong’s slender index finger tapped on the table repeatedly, and finally stopped―――

”According to the aforementioned content, this disease is a new type of pneumonia, and New Quinolones or Lactamase, Macrolides all have therapeutic effects!”

”Of course, I now place more emphasis on researching SARS’s special elixir! It also requires the intervention of traditional Chinese medicine, to formulate the final research plan!”

Gu Tong had no intention of keeping this knowledge private; her sole thought was to cure the sick and save lives.

Because she is a Doctor, she absolutely will not allow her personal actions to cause the death of patients!

This is no different from being a murderer!

As the words fell to the floor, the entire meeting hall suddenly became extraordinarily quiet...

No one uttered a word...

Sheng Guoli’s mouth dropped open, nearly falling off, as he stared at Gu Tong in disbelief...

As if facing some kind of monster...
