I Can Devour Monsters' SSS Talents

Lian looked at the place where the huge monster was standing for a few moments.

Until a few minutes ago, every movement it made could destroy part of the fortress.

Now it was his second Special Colony Member.

But before he could think about this any further, something else happened throughout The Wolfgrave Fortresses.

Thum...

The last pulse of the pack network passed through the underground and then went silent.

The black bones behind the necks of hundreds of wolves lost their light one after another.

A Wolfgrave Howler that was still standing on the ruins of one of the walls suddenly moved its body and looked around in confusion for a moment, as if something that had whispered in its ear for its entire life had suddenly disappeared.

Another wolf had the same reaction.

Then the third.

Within a few seconds, chaos spread among all the packs.

The permanent command that had connected them to one network for generations no longer existed.

Several wolves looked toward the central fortress and then one of them fixed its eyes on Lian, its ears lowered.

One step backward.

Then a second step.

This time there was no command to suppress its instinct, the instinctive fear they felt toward this human entered them again.

Lian’s pressure fell over the ordinary monsters like something invisible.

A wolf that had been ready to fight until its last breath for its master only a few minutes ago now lowered its tail and turned around.

It started running.

Another one followed it.

Then five wolves.

Ten wolves.

In less than a few seconds, panic spread among the packs, some jumped down from the walls and some ran away through the old roads.

Several groups even crashed into each other while trying to escape.

The young Vorhelm looked at them from the top of a high ruin and a very small smile appeared on his face.

”Now you remembered that you should be afraid?” he said calmly.

Then he disappeared.

A group of nearly fifteen wolves was escaping through one of the stone bridges toward the forest.

The front wolf had just stepped onto the other half of the bridge when... BOOM!

Lightning exploded at the end of the path and Lian appeared directly in front of them.

[Thunder Step.]

The entire group stopped at the same time and their claws scratched against the stone, one of the wolves immediately changed its direction and ran toward the edge of the bridge.

The young Vorhelm did not even turn his head toward it and his left hand rose slightly.

[Grave Fang.]

Two huge mana jaws formed on both sides of the wolf’s body.

Crack!

They closed at the same time, the sound of bones breaking came and the monster’s body fell from the wall.

The other wolves did not attack and ran away directly, but the ground under their feet turned white.

[Frost Dominion.]

Ice spread across the stones at an incredible speed and the feet of several wolves slipped on the surface.

Lian took one step forward.

[Glacial Reaper Claw]

A blue arc formed in the air.

SHRRRRRK!

Three bodies were split almost at the same time and blood splashed across the frozen bridge, one of the Level 34 wolves jumped from the wall in fear.

He only gave it a short look.

[Thunder Step]

A moment later he was above it and his foot came down.

Boom!

The wolf crashed into the ground at several times its normal falling speed and the stone under its body broke.

After the battle with Two, these monsters no longer created the same pressure as before, the difference in power was too great and now the packs had even lost their coordination.

Twenty more wolves fell one after another, some tried to fight, some only ran away.

The result was not very different.

[6 Fragments obtained.]

[6 Fragments obtained.]

After the twentieth wolf died, another notification replaced the usual reward.

[The condition for Trait Evolution has been completed.]

[The Wolf Slayer title has reached the required amount of Wolf-based creatures hunted.]

[The evolution process has begun.]

[Wolfbane]

[Basic reward for killing each ordinary Wolf-based creature: 5 Fragments.]

Lian raised an eyebrow.

Then another notification appeared.

[The Wolfgrave Fortresses Regional Trait is active.]

[Trait efficiency: 300%.]

[Current reward for killing each ordinary Wolf-based creature in this area: 15 Fragments.]

Lian looked at the number fifteen for a few seconds.

[Previous Fragments: 361]

[Fragments obtained: 120.]

[Current Fragments: 481.]

He raised his head, in the distance, many wolves were still running between the fortresses.

A calm smile appeared on his face.

”You made a mistake by not running away sooner.”

The hunt continued.

The wolves closer to the central fortress were usually stronger.

One of them, a thin and tall monster at Level 35, did not run toward the forest but escaped through the ruined houses.

Lian followed it for several minutes, the monster kept changing its path, jumping through windows, running across walls and even using narrow alleys to break his line of sight.

It was a real hunter but its problem was that the one chasing it was a better hunter.

The wolf jumped from the top of a broken wall, it had not reached the ground yet when the hunter appeared in front of it.

The monster’s eyes became wider for a moment.

”Found you.”

His fist hit directly into its chest.

Boom!

The body fell into the ruins.

Glutton reacted.

[Extraction options identified.]

[Hunter’s Scent]

[Hunter’s Step]

[Chain Hunt.]

He opened the last option.

[Chain Hunt.]

[After killing a hostile creature, the closest enemy within the effect range is marked as the next target for a short time.]

[The user’s movement speed increases while approaching the marked target.]

[If the target is killed before the effect ends, the mark is transferred to the next target.]

[The effect can stack up to three stages.]

[Speed increase at the third stage: 60% maximum.]

He read the explanation for a few moments and then looked at the wolves escaping in the distance.

[Chain Hunt obtained.]

Almost immediately, a faint point appeared in his senses, a wolf was several hundred meters away.

[Next target identified.]

Lian moved, his speed suddenly became even higher and less than a few seconds later he reached the target.

The wolf had not even noticed his presence when an ice claw passed through the back of its neck.

[Next target identified.]

Second target.

He moved again and before long the third target fell and the effect reached the third stage.

From that moment onward, the thing moving through the ruins looked less like a human and more like a line of lightning, ice and blood.

For nearly one hour, The Wolfgrave Fortresses became Lian’s hunting ground.

But there was no longer anything like the first battle, the packs had collapsed, some were escaping in small groups, some entered the forest alone and some even used the old paths.

Lian also was not going to chase the last wolf in the area.

The farther the distance from the central fortress became, the more scattered the targets became and the more time it took to chase them.

A considerable number of them managed to escape.

More than a hundred wolves spread throughout the forests, plains and unknown parts of the borders of The Wolfgrave Fortresses.

But more of them did not have the same chance.

When the young Vorhelm finally stopped, the clothes under his armor were wet with sweat and hundreds of corpses were lying in different parts of the ruins.

The final panel appeared.

[Number of Wolf-based creatures killed after obtaining the Wolfbane title: 112.]

[Fragments obtained : 1680.]

[Current Fragments: 2161.]

Lian kept his eyes on the number for a few seconds.

Two thousand one hundred and sixty-one Fragments.

He could now upgrade some of his Traits and he could also use the Skill Fusion section.

But this was not the only reward from the hunt and a faint blue light appeared around his body.

[Required experience completed.]

[Level increased.]

[Level: 24 → 25.]

[Level increased.]

[Level: 25 → 26.]

[200 stats points obtained.]

He slowly let out a breath.

Level twenty-six.

He had come to hunt a few monsters to increase his power a little, the result had gone slightly beyond what he expected.

But it was not as if he was unhappy, in fact, this hunt could be considered his greatest hunt and the reward and profit he had gained from this hunt were incredible.

With this situation, he might really be able to reach the second evolution within the next three months and before entering the Land Of First Dawn.

Besides all of this, he had obtained Two, a creature that, apart from its own terrifying power, could also control other packs of wolf-type monsters.

When he returned to the central fortress, the area around him looked more like a massacre ground than a fortress, wolves were lying in every corner.

Some of the corpses were from the previous battles and some were the result of the hunt during the last hour.

And this meant there were a lot of cores to absorb and because of this, he had to summon One.
