I Can Devour Monsters' SSS Talents

The corridors that Lian had created with Frost Dominion did not allow the number of wolves to become their real advantage.

Every time, he faced a few wolves step by step, five, seven and sometimes even ten of them, but he never faced one hundred at the same time.

Until almost twenty wolves were lying on the ground.

The hunt was going well and if he continued like this, all the wolf monsters would be dead within a few dozen minutes at most.

Then .....Awooooooooo!

A howl came from the west.

He raised his eyes for a moment and the gate of one of the nearby fortresses had opened and suddenly dozens of shadows came out from behind it.

Thirty.

Maybe forty wolves.

”Hmm.”

Another howl came from the east....another group could be seen.

Then there was movement on the southern walls, a new pack was coming from the walls toward the courtyard.

Lian looked at them for a few seconds and understood the problem.

”Oh... well, this was not something I expected.”

He was not killing one pack, all the fortresses were reacting to his presence and every howl was summoning another group.

Every black bone that lit up was spreading the message even further.

He could kill one hundred wolves, maybe two hundred....but what if there were one thousand of them across the fortresses? It was useless.

How was he supposed to deal with more than one thousand wolf monsters, most of them above level 30? He was even surprised about what kind of monster could control such a huge number of wolf monsters.

His first guess was that the Boss here was a Fallen, but little by little he was starting to feel that it might be an Unholy.

One made a rough sound from the other side of the battlefield.

The young Vorhelm checked its condition, it was still fine, but the pressure on it was also increasing, it had obtained twenty monster cores until now but even so, its evolution condition was still not complete.

The next pack entered one of the ice corridors and their leader wolf was at the very front.

[Gravehowl Commander Wolf.]

[Level: 36.]

Twelve more wolves were behind it and at that moment it howled and the pack moved.

Lian also moved forward, his base speed of one thousand two hundred was now fully showing itself and he easily closed the distance without using Thunder Step.

The Commander Wolf swung its claw and he lowered his body only slightly, the claw passed over his face guard.

His right fist went directly into the monster’s chest.

A strike using only the pure power of one thousand eight hundred.

Boom!

Its chest caved in, but the wolf was still alive and its jaws came toward Lian’s shoulder and he allowed it to get close.

[Thunder Calamity]

Kaboom!

Lightning exploded directly inside the wolf’s body from his fist that was buried inside it and the monster’s eyes lit up for a moment ....then went dark as its body fell to the ground.

[6 Fragments obtained.]

[214 stats points obtained.]

And at that moment, all twelve wolves behind it stopped, as if they had not expected their Commander to be killed so easily and their instinctive fear was awakened by the death of their leader.

And for Lian, two seconds was more than enough to use it and create an opportunity.

He opened both hands.

[Frost Dominion.]

Crack!

The feet of six wolves froze to the ground and he moved between them and raised his hand, a huge ice claw formed and within those same two seconds, three monsters were slaughtered.

[18 Fragments obtained.]

[724 stats points obtained.]

The pack had just started to regain its coordination when the young Vorhelm moved again.

He continued killing the monsters like this without giving them any chance.

But a few minutes later, another enemy appeared.

A level 37 wolf.

Its body was thinner than the others, but its chest was covered with bone blades.

When it attacked, two bone plates opened from the sides of its jaw and created something similar to a second jaw.

After a short fight, Lian cut its neck with Glacial Reaper Claw.

Gluttony activated again.

[Extraction options detected.]

[Corpse Skin.]

[Bone Tooth.]

[Grave Fang.]

He read the skill description.

[Grave Fang.]

[By consuming mana, two large mana jaws are formed around the target and close from two directions at the same time.]

[Grave Fang received.]

The chance to test it came only a few seconds later.

A level 38 wolf jumped from the top of the wall toward One, the giant ant had no chance against this monster at level 20.

Lian opened his hand.

Grave Fang.

Two huge and semi-transparent jaws appeared on both sides of the monster’s body.

Crack!

They closed at the same time, the wolf stopped in the middle of the air for a moment and the sound of its bones breaking was very clear.

One raised its head and took the chance, its real jaws closed around the wolf’s throat.

Crack!

”Useful.”

One sent a feeling of satisfaction through the link but the pressure from the other enemies could no longer be ignored.

Lian pushed one wolf away with his fist, at the same moment another monster scratched its claw across the shoulder plate of the World-Devourer Bastion.

Krrrrrk!

A thin crack appeared on the armor and a third wolf bit his left arm, its teeth locked onto the forearm plate.

It created an opening for a moment and that was enough for three more wolves to attack from three directions.

The young Vorhelm narrowed his eyes.

[Cataclysm Pulse]

Boooooooooom!

The shockwave came out from his body and the wolf attached to his arm was thrown backward with its jaw broken.

The other three attackers were also pushed several meters back and Lian took one step forward, despite his clear individual advantage, the problem was obvious.

If there were five or ten wolves, killing them was simple, if there were twenty, it would take a little time.

But when every group he killed was replaced by two more groups, the problem was no longer power, it was time and resources.

His eyes turned toward the central fortress, there was something there that was controlling all these packs.

So instead of cutting the branches, it was better to find the root.

His eyes fell on one of the half-ruined towers on the northern side, there were deep cracks around its base and the two main entrances to the courtyard were directly in line with it.

[True Sequence]

The structure of the tower in front of his mind opened, the weak point, the main pillar and the old crack, he could see everything.

”Found you.” He smiled.

His hand touched the nearby wall.

[Frost Dominion]

The cold passed through the surface, into the cracks and inside the base of the tower, the ice moved through the structure like white roots.

The wolves continued attacking and Lian held them back with one hand while with the other [Thunder Calamity]

Krrrrrrrr!

Lightning entered the base through the ice network.

For a moment, nothing happened.

Then....Crack!

The main pillar broke, the tower shook and the newly arrived wolves under it raised their heads for a moment.

But it was already too late for them to do anything, the several-hundred-year-old tower leaned toward the path Lian had calculated.

Kaaaaaaaabooooooom!

Thousands of tons of stone collapsed and the entire western entrance was buried under the rubble, half of the eastern path was also blocked.

Dozens of wolves were trapped behind the stone wall and a wave of dust covered the entire courtyard.

He sent a command through the link, One, come back, the giant ant crushed the last wolf in front of it under its feet and then turned into particles of light.

[One returned to the Hive Home.]

Now the young Vorhelm no longer needed to pay attention to another path, he had one target.

The central fortress.

And he moved.

The wolves understood almost immediately.

Lian passed through the dust and howls rose behind him, dozens of claws scratched against the stones and wolves also started running on the walls on both sides.

This was no longer a battle, it was a chase, they could not allow their King to be in danger.

He stepped onto the stone bridge and a wolf threw itself down from the tower on the right.

[Ash Step]

His body turned into ash and the monster passed through it and hit the floor of the bridge.

Lian formed four meters ahead but at that moment a large wolf blocked his path from the front.

[Grave Fang]

Two mana jaws formed around it.

Boom!

The monster was crushed between them and he passed beside it without stopping.

Another wolf approached from the left side.

[Glacial Reaper Claw]

A blue arc passed through the air and blood splashed onto the stones.

Two shadows fell from above and tried to block his path but even they could not catch him at their full speed.

[Thunder Step]

Boom!

He appeared fifty meters ahead and the sound of the howls was still behind him.

And the central fortress was getting closer and much closer.

When he reached the foot of the huge gate, the battle summary notification appeared.

[Current battle has ended.]

[Wolf-type creatures killed by you: 38.]

[Fragments obtained: 228]

[Total Fragments: 361]

He slowed down for a moment.

361.

He had more than 300 fragments again, but it was still very little, still far too little for everything he wanted to use them for.
