I Can Devour Monsters' SSS Talents

One of the white strands behind the Unborn Saint was coming directly toward the center of Lian’s chest like a thin spear.

Predator’s Instincts were no longer warning him.

They were screaming, and the distance was so short that even Ash Step could no longer move his body completely out of the way in time.

Without a moment of hesitation, he opened his storage space, and a black mass appeared in front of his body.

In a fraction of a second, heavy, dark plates locked onto his legs, chest, shoulders, and arms.

Thin silver gaps between the plates lit up, and finally, the black face cover came down over his face.

[World-Devourer Bastion activated.]

[Mountain Frame is active.]

[Giant’s Momentum is active.]

The strand reached him.

KAAAAANG!

A sound like two huge pieces of metal hitting each other spread through the cave, and the chest plate of the armor bent inward.

His body left the ground and was thrown more than thirty meters backward like a black bullet.

BOOOOM!

His back hit the dead wall of the womb, and dried flesh, bone, and ice exploded at the same time, causing the entire section behind him to collapse.

For several seconds, nothing could be seen except ice dust and pieces of tissue in the air.

If the World-Devourer Bastion had not been on his body, that strand would probably have pierced through his chest and come out from his back.

Even now, heavy pain spread from the center of his chest to his spine, and the quiet sound of stone breaking came from inside the dust.

Lian pushed away a large piece of dead tissue and came out of the hole, a deep crack had appeared in the middle of the armor’s chest plate.

A thin line of blood also ran down from the corner of his mouth, he wiped his mouth with the back of his hand and looked at the blood.

Then he looked at the crack in the armor and finally at the white-eyed man.

”To hell with you and your stupid ideas, did you really have to make something like this? Bastard, couldn’t you just rot in prison?”

Ezrak stared at him from several dozen meters away.

”This is not the time to joke!”

Lian turned his eyes back to the Saint and the creature was standing still.

That huge black eye behind the opening on its face was fixed on him without blinking, the sixth branch of the bone halo was still incomplete.

But after the contact a few moments ago, it had clearly become a little longer.

The young Vorhelm slowly closed his fists, there was not much time left until the end of the Quest and there was definitely a reason why the system had only given him one hour.

It was possible that this was the amount of time the Calamity Seed needed to complete its growth.

[Warrior’s Madness]

It had been a while since he had used it, of course because it could cause mental corruption and madness, but now he was facing an opponent against whom hiding his power had no meaning.

[Mental Corruption: 1%]

Mana exploded throughout his body and blue-purple lightning moved like wild snakes over the dark plates of the World-Devourer Bastion.

[Thunder Calamity]

His right hand opened and ice grew around his fingers and forearm at a terrifying speed, turning into a huge curved claw.

[Glacial Reaper Claw]

And then he disappeared.

Thunder Step.

Boom!

The place where he had been standing sank, and his body appeared on the right side of the Saint, the ice claw together with his lightning-covered fist struck the creature’s side.

KAAAAABOOOM!

The white skin cracked and lightning entered the tissue, the ice claw pierced several centimeters into its body and tore apart a large part of the Saint’s side.

The six-meter body bent, but Lian did not give it even one second and his left foot landed hard on the ground.

[Iron Fortress Charge]

At the same time, Giant’s Momentum.

The real mass of the armor, the power of the movement, and the acceleration of his entire body gathered into his right shoulder.

He slammed directly into the Saint’s chest.

BOOOOOOM!

The air exploded and the Saint left the ground and flew backward like a white projectile.

Ten meters.

Twenty meters.

Thirty meters.

Its body hit the wall of the cave and sank several meters into the flesh and stone.

Ezrak’s mouth was slightly open, but Vorhelm had still not finished.

[Thunder Step]

He appeared in front of the creature again and his right hand was placed directly on the Saint’s sunken chest.

[Cataclysm Pulse]

BOOOOOOOOOOM!

The explosion happened at zero distance and the Saint’s chest tissue was destroyed from the inside, its bones broke and black and golden liquid splashed onto the wall and a large part of its chest was practically empty.

For several moments, Lian was really crushing the creature.

Ezrak had even forgotten to blink.

”You...” The white-eyed man was now also looking at him with fear, as if he had not expected this level of power from him.

The last time they had seen each other, this boy was not even close to this level of power and now he was pushing back the Calamity Seed that he himself had created!

Could he be seeing things wrong.... or was Lian the real Calamity Seed?

The young Vorhelm did not look at him and even ignored him, the Saint was still inside the wall.

But then one of the branches of the halo bent backward and sank into the corpse of the womb, and the dead tissue started to dry.

Blood and biological materials were pulled toward the creature’s body like a thin river.

The destroyed chest started to grow again, but not like before and the bones were not simply repairing themselves, their structure was changing.

Multi-layered rings, denser muscles, and veins whose paths were different from a few seconds ago.

[Growth: 69.3% → 70.1%.]

[Growth: 70.1% → 71.4%.]

Lian frowned and the creature came out of the wall, its head was slightly bent but its black eye was still looking only at him.

More womb tissue entered its body.

[Growth: 71.4% → 72%.]

[New growth stage recorded.]

[Level: 40 → 45.]

The pressure of its presence changed and the young Vorhelm activated Thunder Step at the same moment, this time he wanted to reach it before its regeneration was complete.

His body turned into lightning, but the Saint’s eye moved and for the first time it managed to follow the movement of Thunder Step.

Its white hand came up.

Lian’s palm, covered in lightning and the ice claw, went directly into the creature’s hand.

Boom!

The impact shook the entire cave and he expected the Saint’s hand to move backward.

It did not.

His attack was neither pushed away nor blocked, it was simply stopped and his eyes narrowed slightly, and the Calamity Seed raised its other hand..

Its palm hit the side of the armor.

KAAAAABOOOM!

For a moment, all the air left Lian’s lungs and his body was thrown across the ground and dragged dozens of meters over the dead tissue.

Two side plates of the armor cracked.

Mountain Frame spread a large part of the force across the entire armor, but even that amount was enough for a sharp pain to pass through his ribs.

He quickly stood on one knee and breathed.

He felt terrible pain and even the armor failed to fully spread it out and his left rib might have cracked.

At that moment, because of the damage he had taken, he felt more power flowing through his body as if all his stats had been boosted.

This was the effect of Warrior’s Madness.

[Mental Corruption: 23%]

But apart from the increase in power, his mental corruption had also suddenly increased by a lot.

At the same moment, the Saint took a step and Lian immediately pulled a small bottle out of his storage space.

He opened the cap with his teeth and drank the liquid in one breath, and warmth spread through his chest.

The small internal bleeding decreased and the pain in his rib became a little calmer.

Then he stood up, but this time he did not attack the Saint directly.

Level forty was one thing.

Level forty-five was another thing.

Just these few seconds had been enough for him to understand the difference, if he entered another stupid close-range fight, this time the armor would only delay his death by a few seconds.

And now he understood that this was not even the limit of this creature and why there was a (65) beside its Level 40, that was probably the level it would reach after completing its growth.

So instead of looking at the Saint, he looked around.

The dead womb.

Hundreds of tons of tissue.

Incomplete cores.

Laboratory creatures.

Nutrients.

Everything the Calamity Seed needed to grow was right under its feet and every second the branches of the halo were absorbing more of it.

The young Vorhelm narrowed his eyes, killing this creature with direct attacks was teaching it, damaging it was forcing its body to evolve.

And the more they fought, the more materials it absorbed for regeneration.

So the problem was no longer how to hurt the Saint more.

He had to take away its food so it could no longer grow.
