I Can Devour Monsters' SSS Talents

If the body is yours, then its death should belong to you too.

If the heart stopped, the brain stopped working, the mana channels collapsed and the spiritual connection was disrupted for a moment, Black Silence should also be affected.

Of course, not necessarily in a deadly way, it was probably not even close to being deadly, it was unlikely that the creature would be completely destroyed just by destroying its host.

At best, considering that both the anchor was dead and the vessel was destroyed, Black Silence would be completely expelled from the world.

But he could not let the Calamity be completely expelled, he needed to either devour it or at least find a way to temporarily imprison it for now.

He himself was not worried about dying, after all, he had an extra life, he just did not know how its mechanism worked.

If he died and came back to life again, would the Calamity still be controlling the body or not?

And there was another question, who should kill him?

The image outside became clearer in his mind.

The dust of the graveyard, the corpse of the Titan and the huge, changing shadow of Black Silence.

The four undead.

And Seris, she was still standing, her body had been badly injured in several places and there was a lot of pressure on her.

Her armor was covered in blood and dirt and she had also lost her sword, and her eyes were fixed on Black Silence’s body, something in her gaze had changed.

Lian could not see the panel that the system had shown Seris.

But he had seen the change in her behavior, after Cindar’s death, the Young Pendragon had completely stopped for a few seconds, looking at something in front of her.

Then her eyes had turned directly toward the Calamity, colder and heavier and now the intent in her eyes no longer looked like someone who only wanted to ”save him”.

Lian quickly reached a conclusion, the system had told her something and whatever it was, it seemed to have made the girl determined to kill him.

If that was the case, things were better than he had expected.

”Good.” he thought with very slight satisfaction.

If there was someone there who was truly capable of putting her sword through Lian’s body, it was Seris and more importantly, if she came to the conclusion that there was no other way, she would probably really do it.

She could and that was exactly what Lian needed, just not yet.

If she killed his body right now, Black Silence was still freely focusing all its attention on the outside, death might break its connection.

It might separate from the body at that moment, forcefully take another creature, after all, it had the ability to do that, escape somewhere else or even simply be expelled from this world safely.

No.

First, he had to force Black Silence to lock its entire existence inside this body, he had to make sure that there was no way for it to escape at the moment of death.

He had to keep it busy here, then Seris would destroy the body and at the same time he would make his final move to imprison or devour the Calamity.

Lian looked at Seris again, for a few seconds he only observed her.

Her power, her speed, the way she stood, there was one small problem too, this girl did not have enough power to kill his body.

”This is a little troublesome.” He sighed and thought about how he could help.

The Young Pendragon was also not strong enough in her current condition, she had once been able to force Black Silence to defend itself with Swordheart Override.

Now that power increase was over and her body was injured, if she attacked directly again, the Calamity would probably kill her.

Besides, Black Silence was no longer busy destroying the chains and could kill all the Awakened who were there and another problem was that there were only about seven minutes left before the Calamity was expelled from the world.

Lian needed to change the situation, only a little, not enough for Black Silence to notice his interference.

Just enough to make one of Seris’s attacks more dangerous than it should be, for example, making one of its body movements slightly slower or making one defense happen a fraction of a second later and maybe that would be enough.

But could he do it? He focused his attention on the Ruined Heart, maybe this thing could help him.

Its broken surface was slowly pulsing, with every pulse, a weak light moved through its cracks, he still did not know how to control it.

In fact, until only a few minutes ago, he was not even sure this thing was anything more than a shelter.

But now he tried to connect with it directly.

”Just give me back control of my body once.” Lian continued with more focus.

Suddenly, the light inside one of the cracks became slightly stronger and he stopped and a panel appeared in front of his vision.

[The Ruined Heart has reacted.]

[Interference with the host’s control is possible.]

[Available time: 1.5 seconds.]

If he had a body, he would probably have raised an eyebrow.

One and a half seconds.

That was all the Ruined Heart could buy him against a complete Calamity.

It was little, in fact it was so little that it almost felt like a joke, what the hell was he supposed to do with this amount of time?

One and a half seconds was not enough to talk, not enough for a fight and for taking his body back? Ridiculous.

But it was enough to ruin a movement, enough to change the angle of a hand and enough to leave a vital point open and enough to let a sword enter his heart...

Lian looked at the image outside, Seris was still standing there, her teeth pressed together.

Anger.

Tiredness.

Hesitation.

He could see all of them in that one eye, but she still had not attacked.

”That girl really does not know when to give up.” Lian thought with familiar sarcasm.

Then he went silent, good, this was exactly what he needed, Black Silence thought he was dead and Seris thought she might have to kill him.

And the Ruined Heart had given him one and a half seconds, now he only had to put everything in the right place.

First, he had to test his theory, then he had to make Black Silence completely engage in a fight.

Then he had to die.

And if everything went right, that death would become his real chance to take his body back.

If he was wrong? He thought about that possibility for some time.

The answer was simple, it would not matter anymore, because at that point he would truly be destroyed.

His attention returned to Seris, the girl took a normal sword out of her storage space and at the same time Lian slowly moved his entire existence closer to the boundary of the Ruined Heart.

This time he did not intend to interfere too early.

First, he had to make Black Silence truly be forced to fight Seris, then he would spend his one and a half seconds.

And maybe that one and a half seconds would be enough to end everything.

”Good.”

”Then I just have to help her kill me.”
