I Can Devour Monsters' SSS Talents

The Cindari.

Their name was taken from his own name.

The children of a new civilization that was supposed to live on the ruins of the previous world, but they did not know the whole truth.

Only the leaders knew a kind of twisted truth, a hidden line of people whose duty was to pass the truth from one generation to the next.

He taught them about Father, what kind of higher being he was and that he had to be worshiped, and their final goal, which was to free Father’s child, Black Silence.

Their duty was also simple, protect the Forgotten Tree, watch over the transfer, and hide the truth.

And when the appointed day came, awaken the Founder.

Cindar then entered the coffin, his body was placed between life and death, his biological activity dropped almost to zero, and time almost stopped for him.

Now Lian understood what that coffin under Rootcrown had been, it was not a tomb but actually a waiting room.

Centuries passed, everything was calm until something unexpected suddenly happened and then Cindar woke up earlier than planned.

One of the Cindari leaders was kneeling in front of the coffin.

Their Founder opened his eyes, his body was still dry and pale, but his consciousness had returned.

”Why did you wake me?”

”Some beings entered the world that do not belong here.”

Cindar was silent for a moment, then images appeared inside a memory crystal.

Humans, but not Humans from Earth, they were natives of the Tenth Ruined Realm, a group that Aren had once been part of.

Cindar looked at their faces for the first time, he truly did not know them.

”What are these?”

”We don’t know.”

”They appeared from a crack that did not exist before.”

”From outside this world?” Cindar narrowed his eyes.

”Yes.”

At that moment, something changed inside Cindar’s mind, another world, which meant Black Silence did not have to eat only this Realm.

If a being from that world became a Vessel, it could become the Anchor of its own world.

The Calamity had found a path to a new world and a new world meant more life, more death, and more power!

Cindar thought for a long time, his original plan was ready, he could become the Vessel at the right time.

But now a new opportunity was in front of him, another world, just another world, if Black Silence devoured that place first and then transferred to Cindar, perhaps his final power would become several times greater.

And as a result, reaching the power needed to reverse death would become easier.

Greed won.

”Capture one alive.”

The leader raised his head.

”Why?”

”I want a healthy body.” That was all, and he gave no further explanation.

But the Humans were not weak, their groups spread throughout the forests.

They resisted, stole from the Cindari, took Artifacts, stole maps, killed Cindari, and the Cindari killed them too.

Hatred slowly formed on both sides.

As generations passed, the original order, ”Capture one alive,” was almost forgotten among ordinary people.

What remained was simpler, Humans are enemies and they must be killed.

But the leaders still needed a living body, so another story was created.

A story that was so close to the truth that it was easy to believe.

The Forgotten Tree was dying, this was true.

With its death, the water and Mana of the three forests would be destroyed, this was also mostly true.

The Cindari world might one day become impossible to live in, and again, this was true.

And then came the main lie:

”Our only hope is to find a way to another world.”

”The Humans came from another world.”

”So we must capture one alive so we can find a way out.”

It was a great goal, easy to understand, saving an entire race, and the people believed it, and instead of killing the Humans, several Humans were captured alive.

One after another, they were brought to the Forgotten Tree.

Lian saw the scenes, one was a young man, the roots wrapped around his body.

The process began, but a few moments later his body started to have seizures.

[Insufficient Compatibility.]

[Vessel Stability Rejected.]

The roots pulled back and the man did not survive, when the news reached Cindar, he showed no special reaction, it seemed like he expected such a result to happen.

And then he ordered them to use other Humans, until one of them was finally chosen.

The second was a woman, but her Soul did not match the structure of the Calamity, she was rejected and died again.

The third, another failure.

The fourth also met the same fate, death.

Some did not even last a few minutes, Black Silence did not accept any Human body, in fact, it accepted none of them and almost no Humans remained.

All the Humans who had appeared from the crack and were spread across the three forests were soon either killed by monsters or captured by the Cindari.

Except for one, Aren, who was still on the run, the last living option and because of that they chased him, and capturing him was one of the hardest things for them.

He was a Human who could use the Earth Element, he could hide anywhere there was soil, and the forests were like his home.

It took years until they were finally able to capture him and when they finally captured him, they did not kill him.

Aren was the last hope of Cindar’s plan.

But before the Cindari could start the process on him, the world changed again.

A new crack opened and Humans returned, but this time they were different.

Cindar understood with only one look.

These Humans did not belong to the same world as Aren, the source of their Mana was different, their Souls had been formed by different laws.

And this made him smile with greed, if there was another world, then how many other worlds were there?

Ten?

A hundred?

A thousand?

And each one could become food, so could he become infinitely strong this way?

That same day, one of the new Humans appeared near the Forgotten Tree.

Selina.

The roots reacted almost immediately, not because she was the most special Human alive.

Not because of an unmatched Talent, not because of a strange Bloodline, Black Silence first sensed something else.

Something behind Selina, the world she came from, Earth.

The Calamity’s hunger became stronger for a moment, then it examined the girl’s body.

She was not the best possible Vessel but she was enough for it to endure her for some time, enough for it to enter their world after devouring this world and find a better one.

[Suitable Vessel Detected.]

[Vessel Compatibility: Acceptable.]

[Gestation Process Started.]

The roots grabbed Selina.

And Lian finally understood everything.

”So you never wanted Selina.”

The feeling of Black Silence’s hunger was still flowing through the memory.

”You sensed the smell of Earth from her.”

”But why? Why did you choose someone from Earth but not from the Ruined Realm?” He frowned deeply, this was something he could not understand.

Why had the Calamity not chosen an Anchor and Vessel from the Tenth Ruined Realm, but immediately chose the first option from Earth without hesitation?

What was the difference? What was the reason behind it?

He himself had two theories, but both had flaws and unclear points.

The first was that the Tenth Ruined Realm was already being taken over by a Calamity, and since a Calamity could see the memories of its Vessels, it probably knew about this and most likely could not enter a world that was already being attacked by another Calamity.

The second theory was that the Tenth Ruined Realm had already reached the point of destruction and there was not much left of it, and Black Silence needed destruction, killing, and chaos to become stronger.

So clearly a world that was already almost destroyed had little value to it.

”Of course, there could also be a third theory, a combination of both theories.” Lian whispered.

He himself felt that perhaps the second theory was more correct, because if we assume that a Calamity cannot enter a world that is already being attacked by another Calamity, then Black Silence should not be able to enter Earth either.

He was sure that his own world was also being attacked by one of the Calamities, although he did not know which one, after all, he only knew one of the five Calamities.

But even so, Black Silence had also accepted an Anchor and Vessel from Earth, which meant it could enter a world that was already being attacked by a Calamity.

Although Earth had one difference from the Tenth Ruined Realm, Earth was still healthy and was neither destroyed nor close to destruction.

They had not only been able to resist, but had also been able to push the Calamity back.

And because of that, Earth was more attractive to Black Silence, a world that still had life, and because of that it wanted to enter their world.

But these were only a few possible theories and he could not be completely sure, not to mention that he was still not sure whether the selection of Anchors was random or had important conditions.

Because he was sure that there were no special conditions for being a Vessel, the Vessel only had to be able to carry the existence of Black Silence.

But he was not sure about being an Anchor, his instincts told him that there were more important conditions, but he had no idea what those conditions could be.

Unfortunately, the memories showed him nothing, he only understood that Anchor and Vessel were two different things, one person could be both a Vessel and an Anchor, but it was also possible for the Anchor and Vessel to be two different beings.

Right now it seemed that he was becoming a Vessel, the System notifications confirmed this.
