I Can Devour Monsters' SSS Talents

”Your thoughts?” Rindo thought for a few seconds and then said.

”I don’t trust him.” Seris answered without hesitation.

”Just because he is a Vorhelm?” Liana said, from her point of view, that did not seem like a good enough reason, Lian was also a Vorhelm and so far, he had been like the savior of all of them.

So on the contrary, she had a very good opinion of the Vorhelms.

”Part of the reason, and don’t think that just because Lian is good, the other Vorhelms are good too, they are selfish, cruel, greedy bastards and they only do things for themselves, and they are stubborn.”

”But you are exactly like that too, so what is the difference?”

”.....”

For a moment, the group’s eyes moved between the two, and Seris’s eyes became cold, she opened her mouth to answer, but no answer came out.

In the end, she only grunted and said they could do whatever they wanted.

”I don’t trust him either.” Rindo said.

”Then we don’t take him with us.” Cassian frowned, he did not know why his senior had such a feeling, but she had never been wrong before, so he preferred to trust her.

But he also did not have a good feeling about him, none of them did, they felt that—

”The problem is that I don’t think we can stop him.” Rindo looked at her and continued, ”From the moment I saw him, I had a bad feeling.”

”Not that kind of bad feeling, the kind that tells you that if the other side decides to fight, they will be trouble.”

”Then let him come, we already don’t have enough people to hold back those five walking corpses.” Aren, who was sitting near the wall, said very simply.

Seris did not like this logic, but she could not reject it, one more person, especially a Vorhelm who clearly seemed powerful, was a great help.

But was it really right to trust someone they had only met a few hours ago?

The door opened, and Darian entered, but this time he was not wearing simple clothes, heavy dark armor covered his body.

Transparent crystal lines ran across its surface and changed the way the light reflected as he moved.

But what attracted the most attention was the bow on his back.

The bow was huge.

Its curved body was made of crystals of different colors, and whenever light passed through it, colored lines appeared on the walls and floor.

Seris understood at once, this was not an ordinary weapon.

[Seven-Colored Sky Bow]

[Rank: S]

An S-Rank weapon, and it was clear that he had obtained it from this forest, and probably from this city, either through a trade or by force...

”I’m ready.” Darian smiled, he was not alone either, four other people were standing behind him.

Rindo looked at the four people behind him, all of them were Awakened, four Humans with a powerful presence, and clearly stronger than the Humans they had seen in the city.

”These are coming with us.”

”Only four people? If you can bring more support, wouldn’t it be better to bring more?” Liana added.

”The city still needs the others, and four people are enough.”

Less than an hour later, the group was on the road again.

Crystal-line slowly became smaller behind them, this time four new Awakened and Darian were also traveling with them.

During the first part of the journey, Rindo and Liana were almost openly trying to get more information about their new guest.

”So which one of Lian’s brothers are you exactly?” Liana finally asked.

”That’s a strange question, but the simplest answer is that I’m his best brother.” Darian looked at her for a few seconds.

Liana was genuinely surprised for a moment, Seraphina and Selina also looked at him from the side.

”She asked because all the other children of the Vorhelm family are known, but we have never heard about you.” Seraphina finally added.

She had lived in Medes for years, she had sometimes seen Lian’s other brothers and sisters, but not Darian.

”Because I had been outside the country for a long time.”

”Oh? How many years have you been outside your country?” The Student Council President asked with curiosity.

”A few years.”

Rindo waited for more, but nothing else came.

”Where were you?”

”Outside.” Darian smiled.

Rindo stared at him for a few seconds, then stopped asking questions, this man was annoyingly good at giving no information without actually telling a lie.

”Are you close with Lian?” Liana, however, did not give up.

”It’s complicated.” This time Darian did not answer immediately, and his smile became slightly smaller.

Not good.

Not bad.

Just that.

”Does he still always have that look like he can deal with any problem?” He asked himself a moment later.

”Yeah.” Liana could not stop herself from laughing.

”Then he hasn’t changed much.” Darian’s facial expression did not change much.

Seris was hearing this conversation from a little farther away, she did not interfere, but she kept Darian’s short answer in her mind.

Complicated, that meant there was something between the two, it was just not clear what.

Meanwhile, One turned his head toward Darian several times, his antennae moving slowly.

”I didn’t expect you to use an ant as a mount.” Darian finally noticed.

”He belongs to Lian.”

”Oh? What’s his name?”

”His name is One.” Seris answered coldly.

Darian looked more closely at the giant ant, as if he was trying to examine him, and then laughed.

Seris gave him a strange look and then ignored him, she had no interest in wasting her time.

At the same time, very far away, there was no color in the sky.

The Giant Graveyard was covered in heavy darkness.

The Titan’s body stretched like a buried mountain range between the soil and rocks.

Seven huge chains were still holding its body to the ground.

But one of them was no longer still and was shaking, the Runes on its surface were going out one after another.

Lian was standing in front of it, his expression did not change at all, only the purple light inside his eyes was shining in the darkness.

Four walking corpses stood motionless around him, and Cindar was standing a few meters behind them.

He was not saying anything either, he was only watching.

The hand of Black Silence was placed on the first ring of the chain.

Crack.

The previous crack spread, another Rune went out, and then another.

The ancient chain made a sound like a groan after hundreds of years.

One of the rings broke, then the next ring, and it continued like that...

Cindar smiled and then—

BOOM!

The first chain collapsed, the ground of the Giant Graveyard shook for kilometers, and a mass of darkness came out from under the Titan’s huge skin.

Something thick and ancient, a wave of darkness rose into the air and covered the sky above the Titan for a moment.

Then its path changed, directly toward Lian, directly toward his body, and the darkness entered him.

His body reacted, he took one step back, his fingers shook for a moment, his head dropped, and a short silence followed.

Then he raised his head again, the purple light in his eyes had become stronger.

Cindar kept his smile.

One chain, only one, after centuries of planning and waiting, the thing he had lived for was finally happening.

”Congratulations.” He opened his mouth and said.

He expected that now that one of the chains had been opened, part of his power would also return, after all, after the final battle and the sealing of the Calamity, his power had also slowly decreased.

All the power he had was thanks to Black Silence, and after it was sealed, all the power he had gained through it disappeared over the years.

And only the power he had before becoming an Anchor remained for him.

But a few seconds later, his smile became slightly smaller, his power had not changed at all, he felt nothing through the Anchor connection, not even a little.

Black Silence had always shared their powers through that connection... but now, there was nothing like that, in fact, it could have done this ever since it was released.

But it did not.

Cindar first thought that maybe the Calamity was waiting to take back its power from the Titan and then share its power with him like before.

But it still did not do that... and worse than that, it did not even answer him, Black Silence did not look at him even once.

No recognition, no gratitude, not even attention, as if Cindar, the man who had sold his world for this creature, did not even exist.

And at that moment, a notification appeared for all the Awakened.

[Another part of Black Silence has merged with the new host.]
