I Can Devour Monsters' SSS Talents

Seris clenched her teeth and put more power into her next strike, anger was burning her from the inside.

Every word was like gasoline that made her anger burn even stronger.

”With this body, this world will only be the beginning.”

”Then the world behind it.”

”And other worlds.”

”Until there is nothing left to destroy.” Black Silence finished the sentence with the same inhuman smile.

For a moment Seris truly had nothing to say, not because she was afraid, but because she had finally understood.

This creature had not chosen Lian’s body only because it was highly adaptable.

It was not just a good vessel.

From the Calamity’s point of view, this body was not an ending, it was a beginning, a body that could grow, learn, become stronger and perhaps even do what the Calamity did better than itself.

Devour.

She could not stop herself from thinking...what exactly was Lian that even an existence capable of destroying worlds praised his body?

Unfortunately, maybe she would never find an answer to that.

She gripped her sword tighter.

[10.3]

”Then I have to kill you even more than I thought.” She said with cold anger and her body disappeared again.

This time all her attacks were meant to cause damage, not testing and not searching for signs of Lian and no more hesitation.

She was sure now...she had to kill this Calamity! Even if it meant destroying Lian’s body!

[Moonless Severance.]

[Thousand Petal swordstorm.]

[King’s Breaker.]

Three skills activated one after another.

Black Silence was forced to move several steps back and more lines appeared on Lian’s body.

Blood ran down his arm, a thin cut went from the side of his cheek to his jaw but none of them were deep, none of them truly threatened him.

And Seris’s time was quickly running out.

[06.2]

Black Silence suddenly increased his speed, to the point that Seris could not even fully see his movement.

His fist hit her stomach, her body bent and the air left her lungs, he grabbed her wrist, turned and slammed her into the ground.

Boom!

A crater formed under her body, the skill was still active, but her body had now started to break under its own pressure.

[04.1]

Seris immediately jumped out of the crater, raised her sword, she had no time left to waste.

She could only make one more strike!

Black Silence stood in front of her with the same disgusting smile.

[Heavenfall Execution]

She brought her sword down, the shadow of her sword suddenly became several times larger and it was like the sky itself had been split open.

It came down with the huge power flowing through it...but--

Lian caught it with his bare hand.

[02.3]

The pressure between them broke the ground and caused cracks to spread all around them.

Seris pushed with all her strength and a very weak cracking sound came from the bones of Lian’s fingers.

But—

[00.7]

The mana faded, everything suddenly became slow.

Her muscles started to hurt as if all their fibers had been torn apart, her legs trembled and her vision became blurry for a moment.

[Swordheart Override safe period has ended.]

[Warning: Severe physical damage, the body can no longer continue, if the skill remains active, it may lead to the collapse of the body and soul]

Black Silence was still holding her sword and with one kick, he sent her flying dozens of meters back.

Seris took a heavy breath, but she did not lower her gaze, even now, even after losing again there was still anger in her eyes.

Although she turned off Swordheart Override, she did not want to risk the collapse of her body and soul right now.

If she continued, she would last thirty more seconds at best and if she could not destroy the Calamity by then, she would die herself.

And she doubted she could kill this bastard in thirty seconds.

Although this did not mean that she had given up!

Black Silence seemed to find this resistance interesting, the smile was still on his face.

But several hundred meters away, someone else could not see that smile, he could only hear the words.

”This is no longer a vessel.”

The voice of Black Silence repeated in Cindar’s mind.

”This body is mine.”

For a moment he could not hear the battle around him, Darian had drawn his bow again, Tavern and several others were ready to attack from two sides.

The remaining chains were moving above the battlefield.

But Cindar’s mind was somewhere else.

This body is mine.

The sentence had no meaning for a few seconds, or perhaps he did not want to understand its meaning.

Then the memories of the past few days returned one after another, the moment Black Silence came out of the cocoon.

The four undead bowed, Cindar looked at him, the Calamity did not even turn his head toward him.

On the way to the Giant’s Graveyard, Cindar had tried several times to feel his presence through the old connection.

There was no response...

When the first chain broke, he congratulated him, but again there was no response...and that connection between the Anchor and the Calamity did not even work anymore.

It still existed, it still allowed Black Silence to remain in this world...but it had become one-sided.

Cindar had explained it to himself, perhaps the Calamity’s mind was not complete yet, perhaps it still could not speak.

Perhaps the incomplete transfer had caused its silence.

But now? No, it could speak, clearly and consciously and it was even enjoying itself, it just had not spoken to him, because it did not need to.

Finally, after hundreds of years, something like real coldness formed inside Cindar.

Mother...father...brother...lover...destroying the world...hatred...hundreds of years of planning...all his goals...and all the sacrifices and lives he had given...what were they all for?

For this moment.

Black Silence was supposed to be freed, it was supposed to eat the worlds again, it was supposed to grow stronger.

And in the end, it was supposed to return to him, to the first Anchor, Cindar was supposed to become the final vessel, the connection he received from Black Silence was supposed to give him enough power to break the law of death.

All those deaths, all the worlds that were supposed to be destroyed, all of them were only the price for bringing a few people back.

But now Black Silence had found a better vessel...this human.

No.

It did not even call him a ”vessel”, it called him its body, its own body, which meant that in the future Cindar had planned for hundreds of years, there was no longer a place for Cindar.

Something changed in his dry face and...he began to hate Black Silence.

Not because of the world, not because of the dead and not even because of the billions of creatures that were supposed to be eaten.

Because of himself, he had thought Black Silence was his tool, but now he understood that perhaps he had been the tool from the very beginning.

His father had used his grief, Black Silence had used his body and his world.

And in the end, he himself was also just a link in the chain of another creature’s goal and now that he no longer had any value...he was being thrown away.

Cindar clenched his teeth.

”No!!!” He could not accept something like this!

He kept his eyes fixed on Lian’s body.

Darian, who was ready to shoot, saw his mouth move for a moment, but the distance was too great and he could not hear the words that came out of his mouth.

Cindar put his hand on his chest, where something very old still existed.

The bond.

The First Anchor.

The relationship between him and the Black Silence had never been one-sided, the Calamity had entered this world through him.

It had taken his memories, touched his emotions, and used his existence to remain stable in this world.

But every Anchor was connected from both sides, and if the Black Silence was not willing to return to him according to the plan, he would force it.

He did not want to use this ability, because it could only be used once and he knew that if he used it, his relationship with the Calamity would be destroyed forever.

But he had no other choice, he needed to make the Black Silence understand that without him, it was nothing, the only reason that Calamity could remain in this world was because of him
