Myriad Heavens: Rise of the Rune God

Chapter 90: Chapter 90: Accumulation and Discovery

Three weeks later.

Runar sat in his suite reviewing mission records on a holographic display. The past three weeks had been productive.

Twenty-seven missions completed. Mix of red-tier and orange-tier. Supernova beast hordes, rogue cultivator groups, retrieval operations, investigation assignments. All completed efficiently, none taking more than a day.

The contribution points had accumulated steadily.

Current total: 8,470,000 points.

Celestia walked through the connecting door without knocking. She had her own display active, showing similar mission history.

”I’m transferring my points to you,” she said.

Runar looked up. ”You don’t need to do that.”

”I don’t need them. You gave me everything I could possibly need from your system rewards back in the Pocket Universe. Primordial weapons, techniques, cultivation resources. I have no use for academy contribution points.”

She pulled up the transfer interface. A few gestures, confirmation, done.

**TRANSFER COMPLETE**

**Amount: 8,350,000 Contribution Points**

**Sender: Celestia Stormwind**

**Recipient: Runar Cross**

Runar’s new total: 16,820,000 points.

”That’s enough for the vault’s restricted floors,” Celestia said.

”Yeah.”

Runar opened the academy’s vault interface through his communication device. The system recognized his spiritual signature, displayed available inventory organized by grade and category.

He filtered for soul enhancement treasures. Supreme-grade and Primordial-grade only.

The list populated:

**SUPREME-GRADE SOUL TREASURES:**

- Soul Crystallization Pills x47 (50,000 points each)

- Soul Tempering Liquid x23 (75,000 points each)

- Soul Expansion Array Diagrams x12 (100,000 points each)

- Soul Convergence Incense x89 (25,000 points each)

- Soul Strengthening Elixirs x34 (60,000 points each)

**PRIMORDIAL-GRADE SOUL TREASURES:**

- Soul Essence Crystals x8 (500,000 points each)

- Soul Metamorphosis Pills x3 (800,000 points each)

- Soul Convergence Formation Cores x5 (1,000,000 points each)

- Soul Refinement Liquid x2 (1,200,000 points each)

- Ancient Soul Jade x1 (2,000,000 points each)

Runar selected everything. Every single soul treasure in both categories.

Total cost: 15,965,000 contribution points.

He confirmed the purchase.

**ORDER CONFIRMED**

**Delivery: Immediate (Spatial Transfer)**

**Remaining Balance: 855,000 Points**

A spatial formation activated in the suite. Treasure containers materialized on the table—sealed boxes and jade bottles, all radiating concentrated soul energy.

Runar stood and walked over to the collection. Placed his hand on the first container.

The soul connection to his original body opened. Not for communication this time. Just transfer.

The treasures dissolved into pure energy and flowed through the connection. Crossed dimensions, traversed the barrier between clone and original. Rematerialized in the original body’s system inventory inside the Comprehension Space.

All of them. Every Supreme-grade pill, every Primordial-grade crystal. The entire purchase transferred in seconds.

Runar closed the connection.

Done.

The original body now had enough resources to accelerate soul tempering significantly. Maybe cut the remaining time in half.

Celestia had already returned to her suite. Runar sat back down and pulled up his system interface.

Not the academy system. His actual system—the one he’d received upon reincarnation.

He scrolled through the available functions. Most of them he’d used extensively. The shop, the cultivation assistance, the technique creation tools. But one function sat unused, untouched since he’d first discovered it.

**WORLD HOPPING GATE**

He selected it. A detailed explanation appeared:

**WORLD HOPPING GATE**

**Free Activations Remaining: 20**

**Destination: Random Universe Selection**

**Function Details:**

When activated, a sliver of your consciousness will be extracted and transported to another universe. A mission will be assigned upon arrival, with specific completion timeframe.

**Important Restrictions:**

- Memories will be sealed during transfer

- You will be aware memories are sealed

- Memories unseal only upon: Mission completion and return, OR Mission failure declaration and return

- Base universe time stops completely during hop

- Destination universe time flows normally

**Example:** Spend 1 million years in destination universe = 0 seconds passed in base universe upon return.

Runar read through the explanation twice.

Time stop in the base universe. That was the key feature. He could spend arbitrary amounts of time in other universes gaining experience, resources, knowledge—and return to find zero time had passed here.

The original body was still soul tempering. Wouldn’t finish for at least another week even with the new resources. Classes at the academy were routine. No Supreme lessons scheduled yet.

He had time.

And honestly, the author was running out of ideas for immediate plot progression in this universe. A detour to another reality might provide fresh storylines and interesting developments.

Runar smiled slightly at that thought. Fourth wall awareness was useful sometimes.

He selected the activation option.

A new interface appeared:

**WORLD HOPPING GATE ACTIVATION**

**Confirm consciousness transfer to random universe?**

**Warning: Memories will be sealed. Mission parameters unknown until arrival. Return only possible after mission completion or declared failure.**

**Confirm: YES / NO**

Runar hesitated for exactly one second. Then selected YES.

The world went white.

His consciousness separated from his body. The clone form sitting in the suite remained, perfectly functional, operating on autopilot with basic awareness. But the core of his consciousness—the part that made decisions, that held his sense of self—extracted smoothly.

Reality twisted.

Dimensions folded.

The universe collapsed to a point and expanded into something entirely different.

**TRANSFER COMPLETE**

**DESTINATION UNIVERSE: [LOCKED - DATA RESTRICTED]**

**MISSION ASSIGNMENT INITIALIZING...**

**MEMORY SEAL: ACTIVE**

Runar’s consciousness settled into a new body in a new reality. His memories locked away behind impenetrable barriers. He knew they were sealed—could feel the absence where knowledge should be. But couldn’t access what was missing.

The only thing he knew for certain: he had a mission to complete. And once completed, he could return home with memories restored.

The world hopping had begun.

Meanwhile - Academy Suite

The clone body sat motionless in the chair, eyes closed. Frozen mid-breath. Not breathing, not moving, not functioning—because time itself had stopped.

The consciousness piloting it was gone. Transferred to another universe entirely.

Everything in this universe was frozen. Perfect stasis. Celestia sat motionless in the adjacent suite, her cultivation technique halted mid-circulation. Students across the academy grounds were locked in place, some mid-step, others mid-conversation. The sun hung fixed in the sky. Birds suspended in flight. Energy formations frozen mid-pulse.

Complete temporal cessation.

When Runar’s consciousness returned—whether in minutes or millennia from the destination universe’s perspective—zero time would have passed here. He would resume exactly where he left off. Not a microsecond advanced.

The body would remain in this frozen state, perfectly preserved in stopped time, waiting.

And Runar’s consciousness explored an entirely different reality, chasing a mission whose parameters he wouldn’t understand until he arrived.

The author smiled, glad to have a new storyline to develop while letting the main universe’s plot elements simmer in the background.

[AN:

I know many of you will be disappointed by the sudden shift in the story due to the world-hopping arc. I want to be completely transparent with you—this change was necessary because I reached a point where I hadn’t properly planned ahead.

When I first started writing, I was creating Chapters on the go without a structured outline. While this allowed for creative spontaneity, it also meant I eventually hit a wall where I needed time to properly develop the original storyline.

The world-hopping arc serves two purposes:

It gives me the breathing room to carefully craft a solid outline for the main story It allows the story to continue while I work on that planning

I understand this isn’t what you signed up for, and I genuinely apologize for the abrupt transition. As a writer, I’m learning that proper planning is crucial, and I’m taking steps to ensure the main storyline will be much more cohesive when we return to it.

That said, I’ve put real effort into making this Orion Starr arc engaging and worthwhile in its own right. It’s not filler—it’s a legitimate part of Runar’s journey, and the skills, knowledge, and experiences gained here will matter when we return to the main universe.

I’m asking for your patience and understanding. Give this new storyline a chance. I think you’ll find it has its own appeal—technological progression, cultivation development, and character growth that will enrich the overall narrative.

Thank you for sticking with me through this transition. Your support means everything.
