Myriad Heavens: Rise of the Rune God

Chapter 87: Chapter 87: Mission Evaluation

**EVALUATION COMPLETE**

**Time: 5 minutes 47 seconds**

**Result: PASS**

**Combat Power Assessment: Significantly exceeds Normal Peak Supernova requirements**

**Red-Tier Mission Access: GRANTED**

The holographic interface flickered.

**Would you like to attempt higher difficulty?**

”No.” and he walked out.

Celestia stepped into the chamber for her turn. Selected Normal Peak Supernova.

The construct formed again. Fresh instance, AI reset. It analyzed her stance, her weapon, her energy signature.

It attacked immediately.

The construct moved at full Peak Supernova speed, covering ten meters in a microsecond. Its opening strike was a spear thrust—except it didn’t have a weapon, just shaped its qi into a spear-like extension.

Celestia summoned Heaven Piercer. The weapon materialized in her hand, extending to full combat length in the same instant.

She deflected the construct’s thrust with the spear’s shaft. The impact sent out a shockwave that rattled the chamber’s formations.

Her counter came immediately. A thrust enhanced with her five-Law fusion—Ice, Water, Space, Void, Time all working together. The spear tip seemed to erase space as it moved forward, creating a trail of frozen void behind it.

The construct twisted aside. The AI had already calculated multiple evasion vectors. It came back with a kick aimed at Celestia’s weapon hand.

She pulled the spear back, used the shaft to block the kick. Rotated the weapon and struck with the blunt end, forcing the construct to retreat.

The AI was learning her patterns. Started creating situations that forced her to choose between imperfect options—block and take damage, or dodge and lose positioning.

Celestia’s expression focused. She activated Time Law more heavily, accelerating her perception. The construct’s movements became clearer, more predictable.

She began pressuring it. Thrust, sweep, overhead strike. Each attack carried her full five-Law fusion. The spear moved like liquid mercury—flowing from one position to another without clear transitions.

The construct adapted. Created distance, used ranged qi techniques. Forced her to defend while it repositioned.

Celestia let it create space. Then she used Space Law to fold distance, appearing directly behind the construct.

The AI had predicted that. Was already turning, defenses raised.

Not fast enough.

Heaven Piercer extended through spatial manipulation, punching through the construct’s defenses and piercing its core.

**EVALUATION COMPLETE**

**Time: 31 seconds**

**Result: PASS**

**Combat Power Assessment: Exceeds Normal Peak Supernova requirements**

**Red-Tier Mission Access: GRANTED**

Celestia lowered her spear, breathing slightly harder. ”The AI is good. It adapted faster than I expected.”

”It learns from millions of combat records,” Runar said. ”Probably has more combat experience than most real cultivators.”

They returned to the main hall. The staff woman from earlier pulled up their records.

”Both passed. You’re cleared for red-tier missions.” She looked at the times. ”Five minutes forty-seven seconds and thirty-one seconds. Interesting gap.”

Runar didn’t explain. Let her think what she wanted.

He returned to the mission board. Scrolled through the red-tier options again.

**Retrieve Stolen Technology - Peak Supernova Criminals**

Location: Black Market Hub Station

Reward: 1,600,000 Points

Time: 6-10 hours

”This one,” Runar said.

The staff woman processed the assignment. The system accessed their registered spiritual signatures, binding the mission to their records. ”Mission registered. Priority: Standard. Return deadline: seventy-two hours. Transport authorization granted.”

A small metal badge materialized in Runar’s palm. Mission identifier with encrypted coordinates. It also included the spiritual signatures of the criminals, so that they can quickly track them down.

”Transport hub recognizes the badge. Western platform. And be careful at Black Market Hub Station—it’s outside Federation jurisdiction. Keep your academy affiliation quiet.”

”Understood.”

They left the Mission Hall. Outside, students were still moving around, absorbed in their own activities. Nobody paid attention to two first-years leaving.

The walk to the transport hub took fifteen minutes. Western edge of the academy grounds, a massive platform surrounded by spatial formation arrays.

A technician at the control station took their badge, scanned it. ”Black Market Hub Station. Frontier sector.” He glanced at them. ”First time off-world?”

”Yes.”

”Station’s rough. Don’t start fights, don’t trust anyone, keep valuable items in spatial storage.” He entered the coordinates. ”Step onto the platform. Transport initiates in ten seconds.”

They walked onto the platform. Formations lit up beneath their feet, gathering spatial energy in dense spirals.

The world folded.

Reality twisted.

They materialized in deep space.

Stars everywhere. Thousands of them, brilliant against absolute darkness. And ahead, maybe ten thousand kilometers away, was Black Market Hub Station.

It was massive. A converted mining platform that stretched hundreds of kilometers in every direction. Docking bays covered its surface. Ships moved in constant streams—small personal craft, massive cargo haulers, military vessels in neutral colors.

Lights blazed from windows and external structures, making the whole thing look like a city floating in the void.

”First time in space,” Celestia said quietly.

Runar nodded. The Pocket Universe had been enclosed, artificial. This was real—actual deep space, actual vacuum, actual distance measured in light-years to the nearest systems.

”Want to explore before we handle the mission?”

”Yeah.”

They flew toward the station using electromagnetic manipulation, it was a fundamental fore of the universe. Anyone who mastered laws could control them.

The journey took a few minutes at moderate speed. No rush—the mission had a seventy-two-hour deadline.

The station’s external sensors tracked them as they approached but didn’t raise alarms. Two Satellite Orbit cultivators weren’t unusual visitors.

They entered through Docking Bay Five.

The bay was enormous. Five kilometers across, filled with ships of every design. Cultivators hauling cargo, merchants negotiating deals, crews performing maintenance. The noise was constant—engines firing, people shouting, equipment clanging.

A merchant called out from his stall. ”Spirit herbs! Fresh harvest from the Azure Nebula!”

”Those are three weeks old!” another merchant yelled.

An argument started. Escalated quickly. Someone threw a punch.

Security appeared—three Supernova realm cultivators in station uniforms. They separated the fighters efficiently, tossed them out, returned to their posts. Whole thing took thirty seconds.

Runar and Celestia walked deeper into the station. The docking bay connected to a main corridor lined with shops and stalls. The ceiling arched overhead, covered in holographic advertisements.

The shops sold everything. Weapons, pills, techniques, equipment, information. Legal and illegal side by side.

A food stall caught Runar’s attention. Spirit beast meat being grilled over open flames, the smell incredible.

”Want to try it?”

”Yes.”

They walked over. The vendor was a short woman with burn scars on her arms.

”First time here?” she asked while preparing food.

”That obvious?”

”You’re looking around too much.” She handed them plates loaded with meat and rice. ”Five hundred mid-grade spirit stones.”

Runar knew it was overpriced but he didn’t care and paid. They sat at a nearby bench.

The meat was amazing. Perfectly seasoned, tender. The rice had spirit energy infused into it.

They spent two hours exploring. Saw weapon shops, refinement services, information brokers. Watched how a real frontier station operated—no Federation oversight, just commerce and survival.

Eventually, Runar extended his spatial awareness.

He scanned the station systematically. Thousands of people, hundreds of ships, complex layout.

There. Storage Bay Three, deep in the industrial sector. Two Peak Supernova cultivators standing in a hidden corner. Formation arrays hiding their presence probably waiting for the buyer of the tech, but that couldn’t block Runar senses and based on their spiritual signature they were the criminals.

”Found them. Storage Bay Three. The two of them, both Peak Supernova realm.”

”How do we approach?”

”Let’s scout the area first.”

They made their way through the station. The industrial sector was darker, less maintained. Fewer people. More security awareness.

Storage Bay Three was at the end of a long hallway. The two criminals hidden in a corner, professional and alert. One had a spear. The other carried a sword.

Runar and Celestia walked past casually. Just students exploring. They watched but didn’t stop them.

Around the corner, Runar paused.

”Did you sense it?” Celestia asked quietly.

”Yeah. Quasar realm presence somewhere on the station. Deterrence force to prevent large-scale fighting.”

”So we can’t fight here.”

”No. We’ll need to take them off-station.” Runar thought for a moment. ”I’ll teleport them into space. We fight there, take the technology, return.”

”Can you teleport Peak Supernova cultivators against their will?”

”If I use enough Laws, yes.”

They walked back toward the commercial district. Found a hotel, paid for a room with spirit stones. They was no rush to capture them.

Inside, Runar sat on one of the beds and connected with his original body.

*Arrived at the station. Found the targets. Will complete the mission tomorrow.*

*Good. The two guards are Peak Supernova realm?*

*Yes. I’ll teleport them into space to avoid the station’s Quasar realm security.*

*Be careful. Forced teleportation against resistant targets is difficult.*

*I know. I’ll use six-Law fusion for the teleport. They won’t be able to resist.*

The connection faded.

Runar lay back and closed his eyes. Tomorrow they’d complete the mission.

Outside, the station continued its endless activity. Ships coming and going, deals being made, the frontier operating beyond Federation control.

It was different from the academy. Rougher. More real.

He liked it.
