The Beautiful CEO's Personal Mad Doctor

Chapter 544: Chapter 544: Are You Sure You Want to Provoke Me?

The... festivities continued until midnight.

The two of them didn’t even stop to eat.

Even someone with Cheng Yuan’s monstrous constitution was starting to feel the strain.

To say nothing of He Zhixuan.

They fell into a deep sleep.

Time flew by.

The morning sun shone on Cheng Yuan’s and He Zhixuan’s faces. He Zhixuan’s brow twitched slightly as she slowly opened her eyes, looking at Cheng Yuan with a gaze mixed with love and fear.

’My junior is an absolute beast!’

He Zhixuan stared at Cheng Yuan’s handsome profile, liking what she saw more and more.

’How can my junior be so handsome?’

He made her lose herself completely.

She dreamed of him every night.

But now, she could truly feel her junior’s warmth and presence.

Unable to resist, He Zhixuan planted a kiss on the side of Cheng Yuan’s face.

Cheng Yuan slowly opened his eyes and gave He Zhixuan a wicked smile. ”Senior, are you provoking me? You’ll have to face the consequences!”

With that, Cheng Yuan flipped over, pinning He Zhixuan to the large bed.

He Zhixuan quickly put out her arms, struggling to support Cheng Yuan’s body as she looked at him pitifully. ”Junior... it hurts...”

Of course, Cheng Yuan had no real intention of tormenting He Zhixuan.

After all, yesterday had been her first time.

Cheng Yuan rolled over, hopped off the bed, and went into the bathroom to quickly freshen up.

After washing up, Cheng Yuan returned to the bedside, sat down next to He Zhixuan, and looked at her with a serious expression.

”Senior, I think someone slipped you something yesterday.”

”I know. It must have been Pei Yuanbin or Zheng Longxiang!”

Cheng Yuan said in a low voice, ”I’ve already dealt with Zheng Longxiang. I severed his fingers and tendons and left him with three cuts and six holes. Pei Yuanbin is next.”

He Zhixuan’s face paled. ”Junior, what are you saying? You severed President Zheng’s fingers and tendons? And left him with three cuts and six holes? Do you have any idea who President Zheng is? You’re in huge trouble! You need to leave Gui City, now! The farther, the better!”

Cheng Yuan grinned. ”Don’t worry, Senior. Zheng Longxiang won’t dare to seek revenge on me.”

He Zhixuan was on the verge of madness. She quickly threw on her clothes and jumped off the bed. Ignoring the pain and exhaustion, she grabbed Cheng Yuan’s hand and started pulling him toward the door.

”Junior, I know you cured Brother Long’s hidden illness and you think he’s your backer! But Brother Long is just a dog of the Duan Family, a servant to President Zheng! There’s no way Brother Long would dare to stand up for you! You have to go!”

Cheng Yuan applied a bit of force, stopping He Zhixuan in her tracks. ”Senior, it’s not what you think. My backer isn’t anyone else—it’s me. If I had to rely on anyone in Qian Province, it would be Prince Duan, not Zhou Shilong.”

He Zhixuan rolled her eyes, speechless. ’Her junior was perfect in every way, except for his tendency to brag!’

’Prince Duan is the uncrowned king of Qian Province!’

’How could a mere student like him possibly get connected with Prince Duan?’

He Zhixuan said irritably, ”What, did you cure Prince Duan’s hidden illness, too? That can’t be right! Prince Duan has several illegitimate children, so how could he have *that* kind of problem?”

Cheng Yuan answered truthfully, ”I saved Prince Duan’s daughter. He and I have become sworn brothers.” ℯℯ𝑙.

He Zhixuan had no energy left to retort. Cheng Yuan’s boasts were getting more and more outrageous.

She snapped angrily, ”That’s enough! Junior, I’m your woman now. Don’t say such ridiculous things to me! There’s no need to put on a brave front and pretend to be something you’re not!”

Cheng Yuan shrugged. He was telling the plain truth, but his senior just wouldn’t believe him.

Since that was the case, Cheng Yuan couldn’t be bothered to explain any further.

’The truth would come out eventually.’

”Senior, take me to the Pei Group. We’re going to settle the score with Pei Yuanbin.”

For some reason, He Zhixuan suddenly started laughing.

”In a way, I should probably thank Pei Yuanbin. If he hadn’t drugged me, my junior and I would never have consummated our relationship.”

Cheng Yuan didn’t want to hide it from her. He spoke with some difficulty, ”Senior, I was honest with you on the plane. I’m already married. I’m afraid I can’t offer you a formal status.”

He Zhixuan frowned slightly. On the way here, her junior had indeed mentioned being married, but at the time, she hadn’t believed his ”nonsense” at all.

But now, he was saying it again.

So, it was most likely true.

He Zhixuan bit her lip gently. ”Junior... you... what’s your relationship with her like?”

”It’s very good. Ruoxi and I are in love.”

He Zhixuan’s heart sank, but she could only force a nonchalant tone. ”Junior, don’t worry. I won’t destroy your family. Let’s just pretend nothing ever happened between us. From now on, we’ll never see each other again.”

He Zhixuan was clearly smiling, but tears streamed down her face uncontrollably.

’Why?’

’Why was heaven so cruel to her?’

’She had finally gotten her junior!’

’But he was already married!’

Cheng Yuan couldn’t bear to see a girl cry. He quickly raised his hand and wiped away He Zhixuan’s tears. ”Senior, please give me some time. We’ll find a solution.”

He Zhixuan sighed. ”How can this be solved? Unless you can get a divorce...”

Cheng Yuan didn’t dare respond to that, so he could only change the subject. ”Let’s not talk about that for now. First, let’s get your revenge. Take me to find Pei Yuanbin.”

Seeing Cheng Yuan avoid the topic of divorce, He Zhixuan’s spirits fell slightly. ”If I’m not mistaken, Pei Yuanbin will be heading to my family’s home soon! We can just go to the He Family estate and lie in wait for him.”

Cheng Yuan was taken aback. ”Why would Pei Yuanbin go to the He Family’s home?”

”Today is the day of my official engagement to Pei Yuanbin.”

’Today is his senior’s engagement day?’

For some reason, Cheng Yuan suddenly felt a wave of irritation.

”Then let’s turn Pei Yuanbin’s happy occasion into a funeral!”

He Zhixuan let out a soft sigh. ’If my junior wasn’t married, we could have just continued with the happy occasion today. We’d only need to swap out the groom-to-be.’

’But heaven had played far too cruel a joke!’

***

The He Family villa was decorated with lanterns and streamers, filled with a festive and joyous atmosphere.

To celebrate the official engagement of He Zhixuan and Pei Yuanbin, everyone in the He Family had taken the day off work to attend.

He Zhixuan’s grandfather had passed away many years ago, leaving the He Family with only one pillar of stability: her grandmother, Xi Minglan.

However, several years ago, Xi Minglan had already handed over power to her eldest son, He Zhixuan’s uncle, He Guosheng.

In the living room of the He Family villa.

Xi Minglan sat in the seat of honor while several younger family members gathered around her, constantly speaking auspicious words to delight the old matriarch.

Xi Minglan affectionately rubbed the head of He Zhirou—He Zhixuan’s cousin—and said gently, ”Zhirou, Zhixuan is a year younger than you and is already engaged—and to the president of the Pei Group, no less! You need to hurry up a bit too!”

A trace of disdain flashed in He Zhirou’s eyes.

’On the surface, Pei Yuanbin is indeed a good catch, a suitable match.’

’But who in their circle didn’t know?’

’Pei Yuanbin was a total playboy. Marrying him would be like jumping into a pit of fire.’

Of course, He Zhirou would never let this show in front of her grandmother.

”Grandma, it’s not certain who between Zhixuan and I will get married first, you know! Zhixuan is seeing someone in Luocheng! Knowing her personality, it’s very likely she’ll call off the engagement later.”
