The Beautiful CEO's Personal Mad Doctor

Chapter 533: Chapter 533: Zhixuan, You Will Go See President Pei of Your Own Accord

Pei Yuanbin summoned every ounce of his willpower to control his anger. He turned and waved the two courtesans away. ”You two, leave for now. I’ll call you back if I need anything.”

”Yes, President Pei.”

The two courtesans left to rest. Since Pei Yuanbin had already paid, they were more than happy to get a break.

Pei Yuanbin pulled out his phone and dialed He Zhixuan’s number.

But to Pei Yuanbin’s frustration, He Zhixuan wouldn’t answer his calls at all.

The phone barely rang before it was hung up!

What made Pei Yuanbin even more furious was that after he called five or six more times, He Zhixuan actually blocked him!

Pei Yuanbin’s face twisted with rage!

’He Zhixuan, since you’re determined to be shameless, I’ll just have to destroy you!’

Pei Yuanbin then dialed Liu Ruyan’s number. This time, the call was answered instantly.

”President Pei, is everything settled on your end? You need to hurry back! You can’t give Cheng Yuan a chance to get close to Zhixuan!”

Pei Yuanbin’s tone was somewhat forlorn. ”Liu Lv, thank you for your kind intentions, but I’ve already decided. I’m going to break off the engagement with Zhixuan.”

Liu Ruyan grew anxious at once. ”President Pei, you can’t give up! I’ve looked into it. Cheng Yuan just knows a little bit of medicine and happened to cure Brother Long’s secret ailment. Brother Long has already repaid that favor. President Pei, you really don’t need to be afraid of an ex-convict!”

Pei Yuanbin gave a self-deprecating laugh. ”Liu Lv, why would I be afraid of an ex-convict? The one I’m afraid of is President Zheng. President Zheng has his sights set on Zhixuan, so I have to make way.”

Liu Ruyan froze. ”President Zheng? Which President Zheng?”

”President Zheng of the Duan Conglomerate—Zheng Longxiang!”

Liu Ruyan gasped!

Qian Jinshui is merely the richest man in Qian Province on paper. The true titan of Qian Province is the Duan Conglomerate!

As the executive president of the Duan Conglomerate, Zheng Longxiang was also elected vice-chairman of the Qian Province Commerce Association, controlling the economic lifeblood of the entire province!

Compared to the Duan Conglomerate, the Pei Group was nothing but a small fry!

It was like the difference between a chick and a Tyrannosaurus Rex!

Liu Ruyan’s voice trembled slightly. ”When did President Zheng meet Zhixuan?”

”President Zheng used to attend Gui City No. 1 High School. He’s had a secret crush on Zhixuan ever since. It’s just that back then, President Zheng hadn’t been formally recognized by his clan yet. He came from a poor family and didn’t dare confess his feelings to her.”

”Formally recognized by his clan? What do you mean?”

”There’s no harm in telling you. President Zheng is Prince Duan’s illegitimate son.”

BUZZ!

The revelation left Liu Ruyan reeling!

Prince Duan was the undisputed king of Qian Province!

’If Zhixuan becomes Prince Duan’s daughter-in-law, the entire He Family will rise to unprecedented heights!’

’And as her best friend, I’ll reap enormous benefits too!’

Still, Liu Ruyan managed to regain her composure. ”President Pei, this must be so hard on you!”

The corners of Pei Yuanbin’s lips curved upward slightly. ”Ruyan, there’s something I’ve never told you. In the beginning, I truly did like Zhixuan. But after I met you, I’ve been in agony. Every night, your image is all I can see in my mind. But you’re Zhixuan’s best friend, so I could only bury these feelings deep down. Now that I’ve decided to break off the engagement with Zhixuan, would you be willing to give me a chance to pursue you?”

Liu Ruyan’s heart began to pound. She came from a poor family and had dreamed of marrying into wealth ever since she was a little girl.

With his handsome looks and prominent family background, Pei Yuanbin was the perfect target!

However, Pei Yuanbin was Zhixuan’s man, so Liu Ruyan had never revealed her intentions.

But now, Liu Ruyan found it impossible to control her emotions.

”Yuan Bin, to be honest, I’ve had strong feelings for you too. It’s just... I’m Zhixuan’s best friend, I couldn’t steal her man! But since Zhixuan has a better prospect now, I don’t have to feel guilty anymore! I think... we could try seeing each other.”

Pei Yuanbin felt a little better. ’Liu Ruyan’s looks and figure are on par with He Zhixuan’s. Getting her wouldn’t be bad either.’

”Ruyan, there’s a small problem now. Zhixuan isn’t answering my calls and has even blocked my number. I need you to bring her to President Zheng.”

”That’s simple.”

”Are you sure?”

”I’m absolutely positive! No one in this world knows Zhixuan better than I do. I can definitely convince her and bring her to the meeting!”

”Great! I’m counting on you, Ruyan! President Zheng and I are at the Celestial Paradise Hotel, in the Celestial Hall.”

”Okay, I’ll bring Zhixuan over right now.”

...

After hanging up with Pei Yuanbin, a glint flickered in Liu Ruyan’s eyes as she walked over to He Zhixuan’s side.

He Zhixuan took a small sip of red wine, her gaze darting toward the main entrance out of the corner of her eye from time to time.

Liu Ruyan knew He Zhixuan was waiting for Cheng Yuan.

This filled Liu Ruyan with a deep sense of alarm.

’I absolutely cannot let that ex-convict Cheng Yuan run off with Zhixuan. Zhixuan is my goddess, the most important person to me! The only man worthy of her is a chosen one like President Zheng.’

Liu Ruyan put on an innocent expression and said with a smile, ”Zhixuan, what’s making you so happy? Care to share?”

He Zhixuan looked away, slightly embarrassed, and pouted. ”What happy occasion? Don’t be silly, Ruyan.”

Liu Ruyan smiled. ”Well, I have some good news.”

He Zhixuan asked, intrigued, ”Oh? Do tell.”

Liu Ruyan asked gently, ”President Pei just called me. He said you blocked his number?”

He Zhixuan’s expression darkened. ”Ruyan, can we please not talk about Pei Yuanbin? My head hurts just thinking about him! I’m never going to see him again for the rest of my life!”

The corners of Liu Ruyan’s lips turned up. ”Zhixuan, I’m afraid you’re about to eat those words. You’ll be seeing President Pei very soon.”

He Zhixuan frowned. ”What do you mean? Is Pei Yuanbin coming back?”

”Not exactly. Zhixuan, you’re going to go see President Pei yourself.”

He Zhixuan shook her head without a moment’s hesitation. ”Impossible! Absolutely impossible! I’m trying to avoid Pei Yuanbin! Why would I go looking for him? Ruyan, stop joking!”

Liu Ruyan looked at He Zhixuan with a knowing, confident gaze. ”What if President Pei was calling to discuss breaking off the engagement with you? Would you see him then, or not?”

Break off the engagement?

He Zhixuan instantly grew excited and nodded eagerly. ”If it’s to discuss breaking the engagement, then of course I have to see him! But... would Pei Yuanbin really agree to it?”

”Pei Yuanbin has one condition. He wants you to accompany him to a dinner party and help him win over a very important client.”

He Zhixuan frowned. ”But I’m no good at dealing with clients! Isn’t Pei Yuanbin overestimating me?”

”Whether you’re good at it or not doesn’t matter. You just need to have a few drinks with the client.”

He Zhixuan finally breathed a sigh of relief. ”If that’s all it is, then I, He Zhixuan, won’t back down even if I have to drink until I’m puking my guts out! Let’s go!!”
