The Beautiful CEO's Personal Mad Doctor

Pei Yuanbin stared hard at Cheng Yuan, but no matter how long he looked, he couldn’t see anything special about the man.

”Liu Lv, this fellow seems unfamiliar. What’s his background?”

Liu Ruyan explained matter-of-factly, ”His name is Cheng Yuan. He’s from Luocheng. I met him back when I was attending Luocheng Medical University.”

’A recent graduate?’

Pei Yuanbin narrowed his eyes and asked, ”What’s his family situation like? How does he compare to our Pei Group?”

Liu Ruyan curled her lip in disdain. ”Cheng Yuan just comes from an ordinary family. His father is a taxi driver, and his mother is a temporary worker on the neighborhood committee.”

Pei Yuanbin was stunned. ”Liu Lv, you’re not joking, are you? His family’s situation is that bad? How could he be the reason Zhixuan is pushing me away?”

”President Pei, you don’t understand Zhixuan. She only cares about having a connection and the feeling of being together.”

This made Pei Yuanbin even more satisfied with He Zhixuan. ”Zhixuan is really that pure? Since the heavens have brought her before me, I absolutely can’t miss this opportunity.”

After a pause, Pei Yuanbin asked, ”Liu Lv, what does this guy do for a living now?”

Liu Ruyan curled her lip in disdain again. ”Cheng Yuan just got out of prison not long ago. I’m guessing he still hasn’t found a job.”

”An ex-con? This guy is an ex-con?”

”That’s right! That’s why I’m so strongly opposed to Zhixuan being with him!”

Pei Yuanbin was speechless. He’d taken this guy far too seriously. ’So he’s just an ex-con?’

”Let’s go. Time to have a good talk with this ex-con.”

As the two were talking, Cheng Yuan received a message from Zhou Shilong.

Cheng Yuan glanced through it, a mocking expression appearing on his face. ’The Pei Group is the general distributor for the Lingxi Health Beverage in Gui City?’

’And Lin Pharmaceutical is one of the Pei Group’s primary distributors!’

’No wonder this Pei Yuanbin can so easily control Lanxin’s uncle.’

’Since that’s the case, this will be easy to handle.’

Cheng Yuan took out his phone and sent a message to Lin Ruoxi’s assistant, Hua Fangfang.

The pair quickly walked over to Cheng Yuan and Chang Lanxin. Pei Yuanbin extended his hand and said with a touch of condescension, ”You must be Cheng Yuan. I’m Pei Yuanbin, Executive President of the Pei Group, and Zhixuan’s fiancé!”

But Cheng Yuan didn’t lift his hand to shake, only giving Pei Yuanbin an indifferent glance.

”You’re a self-proclaimed fiancé, aren’t you? Did Zhixuan even agree? Show me some respect and call off the engagement right now. And from now on, stop harassing Zhixuan.”

Pei Yuanbin slowly retracted his hand, the smile on his face gradually freezing over.

”Show you respect? What makes you worthy of any? Who the hell do you think you are?”

Cheng Yuan replied in all seriousness, ”I’m not anything special. I’m just someone you can’t afford to provoke. With a single word, I can have you stripped of your general distributorship for the Lingxi Health Beverage in Gui City.”

PFFT!

Cheng Yuan’s words made both Liu Ruyan and Pei Yuanbin burst out laughing.

”Kid, you’re not afraid of biting your tongue with all that boasting, are you? Do you have any idea how I became the general distributor for Gui City? The story alone would scare you to death! I was personally appointed by Prince Duan! So you’re saying you’re a bigger deal than Prince Duan?”

Cheng Yuan raised an eyebrow. ”I can’t speak for other matters,” he said lightly, ”but on the subject of the Lingxi Health Beverage, even Prince Duan has to show me some respect. Pei Yuanbin, I’m talking to you nicely for now. I suggest you learn your place. Once I lose my patience, you’ll be solely responsible for the consequences.”

Pei Yuanbin rolled his eyes, utterly speechless. ’This kid is getting way ahead of himself, isn’t he?’

’Who does he think he is?’

Even someone like him, Pei Yuanbin, wasn’t qualified for an audience with Prince Duan. He had pulled every string he could just to connect with the professional manager who worked for the Prince.

Liu Ruyan couldn’t hold back any longer. She snapped, ”Cheng Yuan, do you have a death wish? Wasn’t offending Brother Long enough for you? Now you dare to disrespect Prince Duan? How dare you brazenly attend a reception at the White Palace? If I were you, I’d run as far away as I could! I wouldn’t be serving myself up on a silver platter!”

Cheng Yuan shot Liu Ruyan an indifferent look. ”Miss Liu, my affairs are none of your concern.”

Pei Yuanbin’s interest was suddenly piqued. He asked in disbelief, ”Liu Lv, what was that? This guy offended Brother Long? What happened?”

Liu Ruyan briefly recounted last night’s events. ”This guy beat up Young Master Lin at a bar last night! Brother Long was furious and went to the bar to get him personally! But this guy is a fast runner, or a good hider, because Brother Long couldn’t find him.”

Pei Yuanbin was at a complete loss for words. ’Is there anyone out there more determined to get himself killed?’

’He beats up Young Master Lin and then dares to show his face at a White Palace reception?’

’Talk about digging your own grave.’

Convinced he had Cheng Yuan dead to rights, Pei Yuanbin looked down at him with a condescending gaze.

”Kid, I have some pull with Prince Duan. You want my help smoothing things over? If Prince Duan says the word, your beef with Brother Long will be ancient history.”

Cheng Yuan replied flatly, ”Let’s not and say we did. If you really knew Prince Duan, you would never dare to speak to me this way. Since you won’t show me any respect, your Pei Group can just give up the Gui City general distributorship.”

Pei Yuanbin was so angry he laughed. ”Kid, you really think you’re hot stuff, don’t you? Bring it on! Show me what you’ve got! Believe it or not, I can have you thrown out of here with a single word!”

Cheng Yuan grinned. ”Heh. I don’t.”

Pei Yuanbin demanded coldly, ”Kid, take out your invitation. I suspect you snuck in here without one!”

Cheng Yuan, naturally, couldn’t produce an invitation. He stated blankly, ”You’re not on the White Palace staff. What right do you have to see my invitation?”

”Refusing to take out your invitation? It seems you really did sneak in here!”

”And what’s that got to do with you?”

Pei Yuanbin was furious. ”You...!”

Just then, a middle-aged man approached. Wearing a thick gold chain and sporting slicked-back hair, he had the distinct look of new money.

The middle-aged man asked with great interest, ”President Pei, having some trouble?”

Pei Yuanbin looked up and a smile immediately spread across his face. It was Lin Dahu, the newly appointed logistics manager of the White Palace. It was said that Lin Dahu was a distant relative of Young Master Lin from his hometown.

Pei Yuanbin and Lin Dahu had met at a foot massage parlor, and it was through Lin Dahu that he had managed to establish a connection with the Duan Family.

Pei Yuanbin tattled with extra embellishment, ”Manager Lin, this guy’s an ex-con, fresh out of prison. His family’s a nobody, so he has absolutely no right to be at a party organized by Brother Long. I suspect he doesn’t have an invitation and just snuck in to freeload off the food and drinks!”

Lin Dahu sized up Cheng Yuan with a condescending stare and declared in an arrogant tone, ”Kid, I’m Lin Dahu, the logistics manager here at the White Palace. Show me your invitation, now!”

Pei Yuanbin, standing beside him and basking in the borrowed authority, chimed in, ”Hey, kid. You said I wasn’t qualified to see your invitation, right? Well, Manager Lin is, isn’t he?”

Cheng Yuan cast an indifferent gaze at Lin Dahu and warned him lightly, ”I am Cheng Yuan. Are you sure you want to help Pei Yuanbin give me a hard time?”

Yesterday, when Lin Shaofeng was beaten, Lin Dahu had been dead drunk. Having only sobered up a short while ago, he had no idea what had happened the previous night, and consequently, no idea who he was now confronting.

Convinced he had Cheng Yuan cornered, Lin Dahu barked disdainfully, ”I don’t give a damn who you are! Even if you were God Almighty himself, you’d still have to show me your damn invitation!!”
