The Beautiful CEO's Personal Mad Doctor

Chapter 534: Chapter 534: Cheng Yuan, Come Save Me

Finally free of Pei Yuanbin, He Zhixuan’s pretty face flushed with excitement. She immediately pulled Liu Ruyan out of the banquet hall.

The two of them hurried downstairs, and Liu Ruyan drove He Zhixuan straight to Celestial Paradise.

Having received word that He Zhixuan was on her way, Pei Yuanbin personally waited at the main entrance of Celestial Paradise.

When he saw Liu Ruyan’s car, Pei Yuanbin rushed forward. He eagerly opened the car door, placing a hand over the top of the frame as he waited for He Zhixuan to get out.

He Zhixuan exited the car gracefully, looking at Pei Yuanbin with a complicated expression.

’Two whole years. Today, I can finally be free of Pei Yuanbin!’

”President Pei, is what Ruyan said true? You really agreed to break off our engagement?”

Pei Yuanbin nodded. ”As long as you help me handle President Zheng, the engagement cancellation papers will be delivered to the He Family tonight!”

”Okay, it’s a deal! Even if I have to drink until I’m sick, I’ll make sure President Zheng has a good time!”

A furious rage burned in Pei Yuanbin’s chest. ’To be free of me, Zhixuan is really giving it her all!’

’In that case, I have no reason to feel guilty anymore!’

Pei Yuanbin forced a smile through clenched teeth. ”Then I’m counting on you, Zhixuan!”

Led by Pei Yuanbin, the two women entered the Celestial Hall.

The two women saw Zheng Longxiang seated on a European-style sofa.

Liu Ruyan’s eyes lit up. This President Zheng was handsome and dignified, with an extraordinary air about him. It was obvious at a glance that he was a man long accustomed to a high-ranking position.

Liu Ruyan even felt a little envious of He Zhixuan.

’Zhixuan truly is one of heaven’s favorites. The men who fall for her are each more exceptional than the last!’

’Of course, that ex-convict Cheng Yuan is an exception!’

’In Liu Ruyan’s eyes, Cheng Yuan couldn’t hold a candle to even a single strand of Zheng Longxiang’s hair.’

Pei Yuanbin made a grand introduction. ”Zhixuan, this is Zheng Longxiang—President Zheng, the Executive President of the Duan Conglomerate and the Vice President of our Qian Province Commerce Association. President Zheng, this is Zhixuan, a beautiful general practitioner. If you’re ever feeling unwell in the future, you can always ask for Zhixuan’s help.”

As for Liu Ruyan, Pei Yuanbin only mentioned her in passing.

Pei Yuanbin was worried that Zheng Longxiang might go after Liu Ruyan as well.

Fortunately, Zheng Longxiang had coveted He Zhixuan for a long time and had no eyes for any other woman.

A reserved smile touched Zheng Longxiang’s lips. He rose slowly and extended a hand toward He Zhixuan in a gentlemanly fashion. ”Dr. He, it’s an honor to meet you.”

Dazed by Zheng Longxiang’s string of titles, He Zhixuan didn’t dare to shake his hand. Instead, she bowed respectfully as a junior would.

”Greetings, President Zheng!”

As if not feeling the least bit awkward, Zheng Longxiang calmly withdrew his hand. ”Dr. He, please sit. I feel as if we’re old friends, so we must drink to our heart’s content today.”

He Zhixuan often drank at Lanxin Bar, so of course she wasn’t one to back down. ”President Zheng, I like a man who gets straight to the point. Let’s not go home until we’re drunk!”

The four of them took their seats.

Pei Yuanbin played the role of waiter, opening, decanting, and pouring the wine with a series of practiced motions.

”Zhixuan, President Zheng brought this Romanee-Conti. It’s over two hundred thousand a bottle! Let’s give President Zheng a toast.”

The three of them raised their glasses.

”To you, President Zheng.”

”President Zheng, this is my first time drinking such a fine wine. Here’s to you!”

Without the slightest suspicion, He Zhixuan raised her glass, tilted her head back, and downed the scarlet wine in one go.

A look of immense pleasure appeared on He Zhixuan’s face.

’This wine is truly worthy of its two-hundred-thousand price tag!’

The finish was incredibly rich, leaving a fragrant taste in her mouth.

Soon, He Zhixuan felt that something wasn’t right.

She often drank hard liquor at Lanxin Bar. She could even handle two or three of the potent cocktails that Chang Lanxin mixed herself.

’But now? Why do I feel a little dizzy after just one glass of red wine?’

Before He Zhixuan could figure it out, Pei Yuanbin had refilled her glass. ”Good things come in pairs! Let’s give President Zheng another toast!”

Pei Yuanbin was the first to drain his glass, turning it upside down to show it was empty.

Liu Ruyan also downed her wine readily. He Zhixuan had no time to think. Her mind was already growing fuzzy, and she passively drank the second glass.

After two glasses of wine, He Zhixuan felt like her brain was starved of oxygen, and her consciousness grew increasingly hazy.

He Zhixuan raised a hand to gently massage her temples. A wave of dizziness washed over her, and as her vision swam, she nearly slammed her head on the coffee table.

Zheng Longxiang and Pei Yuanbin exchanged a smile. The drug was starting to work.

Liu Ruyan also noticed something was off with He Zhixuan. However, she didn’t suspect that someone had drugged the wine. She just assumed He Zhixuan hadn’t fully recovered from her hangover the night before.

Liu Ruyan said in a slightly chiding tone, ”Zhixuan, slow down. No one’s going to steal your drink. Don’t get too drunk, or I’ll have to carry you back.”

The corners of Zheng Longxiang’s and Pei Yuanbin’s mouths curled upward.

’Carry her back?’

’Liu Ruyan is so naive.’

’Neither of them is going home tonight!’

He Zhixuan shook her head hard, but the dizziness only grew more intense, and her eyelids felt heavier and heavier.

’I’ll definitely pass out if I keep drinking!’ He Zhixuan was certain.

He Zhixuan’s first instinct was to leave, but her legs felt like jelly. She couldn’t stand up at all.

”President Zheng, I’m so sorry. I’m still hungover from last night, so I really can’t drink anymore! I’ll make it up to you and drink with you another time! Ruyan, help me home!”

Liu Ruyan quickly stood up to support He Zhixuan, but Pei Yuanbin rose and blocked her way. ”There’s a private room in the suite,” he said in a placating tone. ”Let President Zheng help Zhixuan rest in there.”

”But...”

Liu Ruyan instinctively wanted to refuse, but Pei Yuanbin whispered in her ear, ”Ruyan, we should give President Zheng and Zhixuan some space to be alone. How else are they going to develop feelings for each other?”

Liu Ruyan blinked. ’That’s right. To Zhixuan, President Zheng is practically a stranger.’

’If President Zheng takes good care of her, her impression of him is bound to improve, right?’

”President Zheng, I’ll have to trouble you then. Please take Zhixuan to the private room to rest. You have to take good care of her!”

”I will unconditionally carry out the task arranged by Liu Lv. I will most certainly take excellent care of Miss He.”

He Zhixuan was frantic. ’How could Ruyan just hand me over to a stranger?’

’What if President Zheng...?’

’Since I can’t count on Ruyan, I have to save myself!’

’The He Family is definitely out of the question!’

’Right now, the only person who can save me is the one I’ve been thinking about constantly—my junior from school, Cheng Yuan!’

”W-wait, don’t worry about resting. I... I can have a couple more! Ruyan, pour me some more wine!”

”Uh...”

Liu Ruyan hesitated, a little worried.

But Pei Yuanbin urged her, ”Ruyan, what are you waiting for? Didn’t you hear Zhixuan ask for more wine? You know what her tolerance is like, don’t you?”

”Okay, then.”

Liu Ruyan stood up to pour wine for He Zhixuan.

Taking advantage of the moment Liu Ruyan blocked the view of Zheng Longxiang and Pei Yuanbin, He Zhixuan quickly pulled out her phone and sent a very short text to Cheng Yuan.

[Celestial Paradise. Save me.]
