The Beautiful CEO's Personal Mad Doctor

Chapter 227: Chapter 227: We’re Having This Palace Banquet Today

Everyone turned toward the voice and saw a group of young men and women approaching.

The young man at the center of the group was Wen Zihua, the second-in-line heir to the third generation of Beijing’s Wen Family!

Moreover, Wen Zihua was a squad leader in the Dragon Flame Divine Dragon Camp!

In terms of family background or personal power, he could easily crush Han Zhongming.

Even Wen Zihua’s friends came from families no less prominent than Han Zhongming’s!

Seeing it was Wen Zihua, Han Zhongming choked back the curses on the tip of his tongue. His face flushed red as he forced a laugh. ”Young Master Wen, you’re so humorous.”

Wen Zihua said coldly, ”Sorry. I never joke.”

Wen Zihua’s companions acted as if Han Zhongming didn’t exist, turning to Xiao Xun’Er with ingratiating smiles to greet her.

”Hey there, Sister-in-law!”

Xiao Xun’Er’s face flushed with anger. ”Who are you calling sister-in-law?” she said coldly. ”Don’t just call me that, okay?”

With that, Xiao Xun’Er turned to Wen Zihua. ”Wen Zihua, how many times do I have to tell you? It’s never going to happen between us! Stop pestering me!”

Wen Zihua wasn’t the least bit annoyed. ”Xun’Er, a piece of trash like him isn’t worthy of you. Only I can be the one you rely on in the future.”

Han Zhongming’s face turned ashen with rage. This was the ultimate humiliation. He wasn’t about to just take it anymore.

”Young Master Wen, who Xun’Er likes is her choice! You have no right to interfere! I’ll prove it! I, Han Zhongming, am not inferior to anyone!”

Wen Zihua snorted coldly. ”Han Zhongming, you are not worthy of speaking to me!”

With that, Wen Zihua turned to Xiao Xun’Er. ”Xun’Er, it’s my birthday today. Come with me.”

Han Zhongming was about to explode with rage. He pulled Xiao Xun’Er behind him. ”Young Master Wen, my apologies, but I’ve reserved Master Cheng’s Palace Banquet. My Xun’Er will absolutely not be going with you!”

Xiao Xun’Er immediately backed Han Zhongming up. ”Wen Zihua, I want to have the Palace Banquet. Sorry, but I don’t have time for your birthday party.”

’The Palace Banquet?’

’Heh.’

Wen Zihua wasn’t the least bit annoyed. He simply turned and walked toward the entrance of the Cheng Mansion Banquet.

Wen Zihua’s lackeys all flipped Han Zhongming off before hurrying after their leader.

”Young Master Wen, Han Zhongming was so disrespectful. We can’t let him off that easily!”

Wen Zihua snorted. ”Didn’t Xun’Er say she wants the Palace Banquet? Fine. We’ll just hijack Master Cheng’s Palace Banquet for ourselves. Then we’ll see how Han Zhongming can show his face!”

”Young Master Wen, you’re brilliant.”

Wen Zihua and his lackeys were regulars at the Cheng Mansion Banquet, and the lobby manager greeted them with exceptional attentiveness.

”Young Master Wen, and all you other young masters, the East Wing is ready. This way, please.”

Wen Zihua didn’t move. He said flatly, ”Cancel our previous reservation for the Mao’s Braised Pork special. I want the Palace Banquet, personally prepared by Elder Cheng.”

The lobby manager’s expression grew troubled. ”Young Master Wen, Elder Cheng’s Palace Banquet requires an advance reservation. Let me check for you... You can reserve one for two months from now.”

Wen Zihua’s face darkened. ”I want today’s Palace Banquet. Tell everyone else to wait.”

”But...”

”What? Do I need to have my grandfather call Elder Cheng personally?”

The lobby manager’s expression changed instantly. ”I wouldn’t dare! I’ll inform Elder Cheng at once!”

The manager quickly pulled out his phone and dialed Elder Cheng’s number. ”Elder Cheng, we have a situation here. Young Master Wen...”

Elder Cheng was silent on the other end of the line for a long time.

Years ago, it was a tip from Elder Wen that had led him to open the Cheng Mansion Banquet in the first place. Now that Young Master Wen had invoked his grandfather’s name, there was truly no way to refuse.

”Tell Young Master Wen that today’s Palace Banquet is his.”

”Yes, sir!”

====

「Outside the Cheng Mansion Banquet.」

Xiao Xun’Er’s face was ashen.

Han Zhongming looked at Cheng Yuan and Hu Shishi apologetically. ”Sorry you had to see that.”

Hu Shishi said, looking annoyed, ”What’s Wen Zihua so arrogant about? It’s just because Elder Wen helped him open his Eight Extraordinary Meridians when he was a kid. Otherwise, with his level of talent, how could he possibly have reached the Quasi-Divine Peak?”

Cheng Yuan shrugged. ”There’s no need to get angry over someone so irrelevant. Come on, let’s go enjoy Master Cheng’s Palace Banquet!”

The others’ expressions relaxed slightly, and they headed for the entrance to the Cheng Mansion Banquet.

Han Zhongming and Xiao Xun’Er deliberately walked slowly, hoping to avoid running into Wen Zihua.

But sometimes, the very thing you hope to avoid is what ends up happening.

Wen Zihua and his lackeys were standing quietly by the reception desk, watching Xiao Xun’Er with mocking smirks.

Xiao Xun’Er could have died from frustration. ’This Wen Zihua is like gum on my shoe!’

Xiao Xun’Er pretended not to see Wen Zihua, striking up a conversation with Hu Shishi about girly things.

Han Zhongming also forced himself to act as if he hadn’t seen Wen Zihua and strode up to the desk. ”I’m Han Zhongming, phone number ending in 6618. I have a reservation for Elder Cheng’s Palace Banquet.”

The receptionist looked at Han Zhongming with a deeply apologetic expression. ”Mr. Han, due to unforeseen circumstances, your reservation for the Palace Banquet has been moved to tomorrow. On behalf of the Cheng Mansion Banquet, I offer you our sincerest apologies. All of your expenses today will be discounted by fifty percent.”

The receptionist’s attitude was excellent—apologizing and even offering a discount. Han Zhongming felt it salvaged some of his pride. He turned to Xiao Xun’Er and said, ”Xun’Er, it looks like the Palace Banquet is off for today. How about the Mao’s Braised Pork special or the Marshal Shrimp special instead?”

Xiao Xun’Er didn’t make a fuss. ”Either is fine,” she said gently.

Standing to the side, Wen Zihua shook his head slightly. ”Han Zhongming, didn’t you say you were going to prove you’re not inferior to anyone? Is this your proof? Making Xun’Er miss out on the Palace Banquet?”

Even a saint has his limits. After Wen Zihua’s repeated provocations, Han Zhongming finally snapped. ”Master Cheng postponed the Palace Banquet! What could I do about it? You talk as if you could just book it yourself!”

The corner of Wen Zihua’s mouth curled up. ”You’re absolutely right. I *can* book the Palace Banquet. And do you know why yours was postponed? Because today, Master Cheng is serving me, Wen Zihua!”

After speaking, Wen Zihua didn’t even deign to glance at Han Zhongming again, instead turning to look at Xiao Xun’Er with a smug, knowing gaze.

”Xun’Er, you see? Han Zhongming can’t even get you a table for the Palace Banquet. What kind of future can you have with him? Come with me. I’ll take you to eat the Palace Banquet!”

Xiao Xun’Er completely ignored Wen Zihua, instead linking her arm affectionately through Han Zhongming’s. ”Zhongming, you’re a man. Stand tall. It’s just a meal, isn’t it? It’s not like we’ll starve! Let’s go!”

With that, Xiao Xun’Er looked apologetically at Cheng Yuan and Hu Shishi. ”Divine Doctor Cheng, Shishi, I’m so sorry you had to witness this mess. Should we find another place to eat? I’ll treat you two to the Palace Banquet tomorrow.”

Cheng Yuan found himself admiring Xiao Xun’Er’s easy-going attitude.

Besides, Xiao Xun’Er had helped him make a connection that had earned him a fortune. Cheng Yuan certainly couldn’t just stand by and watch her get bullied.

Cheng Yuan said coolly, ”Miss Xiao, we’re not going anywhere. We are having the Palace Banquet today, and that’s final.”
