The Beautiful CEO's Personal Mad Doctor

Chapter 206: Chapter 206: Please, Don’t Take My Surname

A middle-aged man, who had just been shoved aside by the youth and lost the best position, couldn’t resist a sneer when he saw the young man’s failure. ”He looks big and muscular, but I guess he’s all show and no go, huh?”

Cheng Yuan chimed in, ”Yeah, that was pretty embarrassing.”

The youth’s face went from pale to beet-red. He shouted at Cheng Yuan, ”And you’re not embarrassed? At least I had the guts to try! You didn’t even dare! With that twig-like body of yours? If you can lift this suitcase, I’ll change my last name to yours!”

Cheng Yuan couldn’t be bothered to argue. He stood up slowly, grabbed the suitcase with one hand, and exerted a bit of force.

The suitcase, which weighed hundreds of pounds, was instantly hoisted over Cheng Yuan’s head and placed gently into the overhead compartment.

As if he’d done something completely trivial, Cheng Yuan shot the youth an indifferent look. ”Hey, you. Don’t you dare go changing your last name to mine. I can’t afford to be associated with that kind of embarrassment.”

With that, Cheng Yuan calmly sat back down.

The sight nearly made the youth’s jaw drop to the floor.

’I felt for myself just how heavy that suitcase is,’ the youth thought. ’How much strength does this scrawny guy actually have? He lifted it with just one hand!’

The surrounding male passengers, who didn’t understand the situation, burst out laughing.

”Looks like that older fellow was right. The big guy looks strong, but he’s all flash and no substance.”

”Totally useless. And he thought he could impress the ladies with that? What a joke.”

The youth’s face was ashen with rage, but he didn’t dare make another move against Cheng Yuan. ’After all,’ he thought, ’with that kind of strength, a single punch from him could kill me!’

Too ashamed to remain in economy, the youth found a flight attendant and paid to upgrade his seat to business class.

After the youth left, the gazes of the other male passengers on Hu Shishi grew even more intense, staring at her openly.

In any other setting, Hu Shishi would have surely taught these lechers a lesson. But in front of Cheng Yuan, she refused to show such a harsh side of herself.

”Cheng Yuan, how about we switch seats? I want to look at the scenery outside.”

Cheng Yuan refused flatly. ”No.”

”Cheng Yuan, can’t you be a little gentler with me?”

”No.”

Hu Shishi started to get upset. ”Cheng Yuan, do you really dislike me that much?”

Cheng Yuan turned his head and looked at Hu Shishi with a serious expression. ”Sister Shishi, I hate it when people investigate me. And I hate it even more when they follow me!”

Hu Shishi quickly explained, ”If I told you our meeting was just a coincidence, would you believe me?”

Cheng Yuan shook his head without hesitation. ”No. You, the great heiress of the Hu Family, flying economy? Besides, you could have just taken a Dragon Flame private jet to get to Beijing.”

Hu Shishi sighed. ’I knew he wouldn’t be so easy to fool.’

”Fine,” she said. ”Cheng Yuan, I’m here to find you under direct orders from the Dragon Lord. He thinks you’re extremely talented and wants me to recruit you into Dragon Flame. If you just nod your head, he can arrange for you to be made a major.”

At the mention of this, the prying eyes and ears all around them instantly vanished.

’They had no idea what Dragon Flame was, but they certainly knew what a major was!’

’That was a battalion-level officer in the Battle Department!’

’Back home, a person like that would be a bona fide big shot!’

Cheng Yuan refused without a second thought. ”Sorry, I don’t like being tied down. Forget being a major—I wouldn’t join Dragon Flame even if you made me a major general.”

Hu Shishi wasn’t surprised in the slightest. She gave a small nod. ”Understood. I will relay your exact words to the Dragon Lord.”

Cheng Yuan was a bit surprised. ”Sister Shishi, you’re not going to try and persuade me further?”

Hu Shishi smiled. ”My job is the perfect example. There’s truly no freedom, and I’m constantly being sent out on missions. If you joined too, we might only see each other a few times a year. What would be the fun in that?”

Cheng Yuan shrugged without a word, leaned his head to the side, and began to watch the scenery outside.

The captain’s voice came over the cabin intercom.

”Welcome aboard Dongshan Airlines. I am your captain, Dong Jiajia. We are about to take off, so please fasten your seatbelts and refrain from moving about the cabin. Thank you for your cooperation.”

Seeing that Cheng Yuan wasn’t taking the bait, Hu Shishi felt a sense of helplessness. ”Cheng Yuan, you’re not going to be this petty, are you? It really wasn’t me who investigated you. You’re a key person of interest for the Dragon Lord right now. Your every move is being reported to him.”

”Is it because of the destruction of the Wang Family?”

”Yes. Dragon Flame has already determined the causes of death for Wang Yuanchen, Wang Yuanlang, and Wang Yuanfeng.”

Cheng Yuan sighed. ’I was so careful, but I still couldn’t escape the notice of the people at the top.’ However, he now had a basic ability to protect himself and wasn’t as afraid of his true strength being exposed.

”What are the higher-ups saying?”

Hu Shishi knew what he was worried about and spoke in a comforting tone. ”You can relax. Dragon Flame doesn’t meddle in the feuds of the Jianghu. Besides, what you did was self-defense.”

Even though Hu Shishi made it sound simple, Cheng Yuan felt a crushing pressure.

’I’m on the Dragon Lord’s radar now,’ he thought. ’Whether that’s a blessing or a curse, who knows? I can’t just stake my future on his goodwill.’

’I have to become strong enough to protect myself!’

’At the very least, I need the strength to stand up to the Dragon Lord!’

”Sister Shishi, can you tell me what level of power the Dragon Lord has?”

Hu Shishi knew his worries and said reassuringly, ”Xiaoyuan, you can rest easy. The Dragon Lord would never harm you. He only cares about the interests of the Dragon Country! You are one of the Dragon Country’s most promising youths; he sees you as a junior. Unless you commit treason, the Dragon Lord will never make a move against you! In fact, he might even become your greatest patron!”

”Sister Shishi, don’t just feed me empty promises. If it’s not convenient for you to say, then just forget it.”

”There’s nothing inconvenient about it. The Dragon Lord made a public move once, seven years ago. Back then, he was at Martial Emperor Peak. Whether he’s broken through to the Martial Saint realm since then, I couldn’t say.”

’Martial Emperor Peak?’

’Martial Saint?’

Hu Shishi’s words landed like a mountain, crushing Cheng Yuan so hard he could barely breathe.

’The good thing is, for now, the Dragon Lord isn’t an enemy!’

’I have to... I have to increase my strength as quickly as possible!’

’If I can just reach the Grandmaster realm, then with True Qi Crystalization and the advantage of my Cultivation Technique, I could barely contend with a Martial Emperor. At the very least, I could survive an encounter with one!’

”Sister Shishi, I need money! Can you lend me some? The more, the better!”

Cheng Yuan needed to buy a large quantity of precious medicinal herbs to refine a great number of Essence Pills. That was the fastest way for him to break through to the Divine Realm, and from there, to the Grandmaster realm!

Without a moment’s hesitation, Hu Shishi pulled out a bank card and handed it to Cheng Yuan. ”Xiaoyuan, this is my entire net worth. There’s three hundred million in here. It’s all yours! On top of that, I can get another five hundred million from my dad! That’s all the capital I can get my hands on.”

Cheng Yuan was deeply moved. He had only asked casually, and Sister Shishi had offered him her entire fortune. She held no defenses against him whatsoever.

’But fate plays cruel tricks,’ he thought. ’I already have Ruoxi...’

’Logically, eight hundred million should be more than enough. But unfortunately, each of those precious herbs is priceless. Eight hundred million won’t even make a dent!’

For the first time, Cheng Yuan truly understood the saying that it takes wealth to practice martial arts. An ordinary person really couldn’t afford this path.

”Thank you, Sister Shishi. I’ll pay you back. By the way, if I were to mortgage the deed to the Sofitel Hotel, how much do you think I could get?”

”You could probably get two billion. Are you that strapped for cash? Eight hundred million isn’t enough?”

”I’m desperate.”

”If you’re that desperate for money, I know a way to earn some. I’ll take you there when we get to Beijing.”
