Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 2952: Chapter 2888: Feeding You Some Meat

Because Commander Cui put too much pressure on him, he ate with some restraint.

Upon hearing this, he didn’t refuse and went to eat immediately.

”I’m full.”

Yet Meng Xinian wanted to go upstairs to keep an eye on Jiang Xiao.

”After eating and chatting a while, then coming back on such a long journey, the stomach feels a bit empty again. Hurry up and eat, didn’t you barely eat enough meat when you were over at Ke Ku Li?”

Meng Xinian, feeling helpless, went over to drink a bowl of chicken soup and gnawed on a chicken leg.

Old Meng sat nearby and occasionally chatted with him. Watching him, Old Meng felt that as long as he could live to see Meng Xinian and Jiang Xiao get married and have a big, healthy boy, his life would be complete.

”I heard you accomplished a few feats over at Ke Ku Li?”

”Just small things, nothing much.”

”How could it be nothing? Taking a few days off?”

”Ten days.”

”Staying home tonight? How about we go grocery shopping together first thing tomorrow morning?”

Meng Xinian remembered that he had sent Ding Haijing and the others after Dai Zhongwen, so he immediately shook his head and said, ”I have to go back tonight, we still have some things to do. I’ll give you the list later; Little and I will go grocery shopping and deliver it tomorrow.”

Old Meng could only nod, ”Alright, that’s fine too.”

Meng Xinian filled another bowl of soup and chicken leg, ”I’ll take this up to Little.”

”Alright, go, let her eat it while it’s hot.”

Meng Xinian carried the food upstairs and entered the bedroom, seeing Jiang Xiao sitting at the vanity writing something.

He placed the chicken soup on the table in front of the small sofa and walked towards her.

”What are you writing? Come over and eat the chicken leg.”

Jiang Xiao glanced back, ”You eat it.”

”I already ate downstairs just now, this is yours.”

”I’m not eating it anyway, you eat it.”

Only then did Meng Xinian realize, was this her plan all along for letting him bring it up?

”Little...”

Jiang Xiao stood up, turned around, poked him in the chest with her index finger, snorting as she said, ”Are you eating or not? I haven’t forgiven you yet today!”

At this point, Meng Xinian recalled her glaring at him constantly at the dining table today.

He had asked her about it in the car earlier, but she hadn’t replied at all.

”What’s the matter?”

”Are you really clueless, or pretending to be?” Jiang Xiao was furious, poking him again, ”Do you know when we were walking back, Grandma Cui handed me a cold towel to apply...”

She found it hard to continue from there.

It was so embarrassing she could die of shame.

Only then did Meng Xinian understand, and he couldn’t help but laugh softly, cupping her face, he kissed her lips and teasingly asked, ”To apply on your lips?”

”You dare say that!”

Jiang Xiao lifted her leg to kick towards his crotch.

But it was really just an instinctive reaction, absolutely not intentional.

Meng Xinian swiftly clamped down on her leg, laughing as he said, ”You shouldn’t kick just anywhere.”

”Tyrant Meng!”

”Alright, alright, if you won’t eat it, I will, is that okay? Don’t be angry anymore.” Meng Xinian released her, went over, sighed, devoured the big chicken leg, and drank the bowl of chicken soup without leaving a drop.

Jiang Xiao watched him and said, ”Yesterday, you said I had put on weight.”

Meng Xinian’s gaze swept over her, ”Hmm, gaining some is a good thing, I like it very much.”
