Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 2736: Chapter 2672: What He Knows

”Director Gao, I am a student at the Capital City Academy of Fine Arts,” Jiang Xiao could tell he had deep concerns, so she candidly revealed her identity, ”and I have another identity as a painter.”

She picked up Qingshuang’s painting from beside her and handed it to Gao Shan.

”This painting, we discovered a signature on the back, the painter is someone named Qingshuang, and from the name it should be a woman. This painting was taken by a classmate of ours who tried to pass it off as their own, and we found out. Both my teacher and I really like this painting, so we wanted to find this painter and ask if she’d be interested in holding an exhibition with us.”

Painter?

Painting?

Exhibition?

Gao Shan was completely stunned, how...

Is it really about this?

Wasn’t she here to uncover the truth about that big fire years ago?

Jiang Xiao observed his expression and reaction, then continued, ”That’s one reason. Another reason is, I found the name Qingshuang to be the same as a relative I lost many years ago, so I also want to see if she could be that relative of mine.”

”You mean, the person you’re looking for is a family member?”

”Possibly, right now it’s just the same name, so I want to find out for sure.”

Jiang Xiao looked at Gao Shan and was sure he definitely knew something about the past.

”Do you have anything to prove?”

Jiang Xiao took out her student ID, then a newspaper.

She kept these things in her space, and now just took them out using her backpack.

She handed over her student ID and the newspaper.

The newspaper was about her and Liu Guoying’s art exhibition.

Gao Shan looked very carefully, almost reading every word.

Jiang Xiao didn’t rush him, letting him take his time to read it thoroughly.

After finishing, Gao Shan glanced out of the car window and asked, ”Then you’re both a student and a painter, why do you have a bodyguard?”

”My dad is very wealthy,” Jiang Xiao replied.

This reason...

Gao Shan breathed a sigh of relief.

He felt Jiang Xiao was still trustworthy.

A young painter who rose to fame.

His previously tense heart relaxed a bit.

Seeing he was easing up, Jiang Xiao asked, ”I simply want to find this Qingshuang to see if she is the person I’m looking for. So, Director Gao, do you know a woman named Qingshuang at Luofeng Institute? She should be around thirty-five or thirty-six years old now.”

”There were quite a few young women of that age group at Luofeng Institute back then,” Gao Shan finally said, ”but there was no one named Qingshuang.”

He said ”no” instead of ”not sure”.

Jiang Xiao’s heart skipped a beat.

It seems Gao Shan really understands Luofeng Institute well?

Or perhaps more precisely, the Hongfeng Welfare Institute of those days.

”Then, what about someone named Shi Xiaoching?”

”Also no.”

Neither of these names?

”Is it possible you just don’t know?”

Gao Shan shook his head, ”I was very familiar with everyone there. At that time, the director of the welfare institute...”

At this point, Gao Shan hesitated but decided to continue.

”The director was my first love. I liked her. She went to Hongfeng Welfare Institute to be the director because I arranged it. Her name is Chun Hong. Chun Hong loved children very much, but her marriage was unhappy, and she never had kids, nor did she have an income. So I used my position to arrange for her to be the director of the welfare institute.”

Jiang Xiao was taken aback.

She hadn’t expected that with just this question, she unearthed such a personal history.
