Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 2717: Chapter 2653: Some Setbacks

She looked for quite a while and shook her head: ”I don’t recall ever seeing this person, but back then we simply dropped off the supplies and left without meeting everyone in the institute, so I can’t say for sure whether this person was at Hongfeng Welfare Institute.”

So that’s how it is...

To say Jiang Xiao wasn’t disappointed would be a lie.

But at least she wasn’t completely hopeless.

”By the way, I might still have photos from back then, just two or three group shots, which might have captured what Hongfeng Welfare Institute looked like. Do you want to see them?”

”Yes, please.”

Jiang Xiao certainly wanted to see what Luofeng Institute looked like.

Mrs. Jin rummaged through old photo albums for a long time before she found the pictures.

Old photos from ten years ago had a historical feel to them and were all black and white.

Ten years ago, Mrs. Jin was beautiful and graceful, and looking at Jin Lei you could tell.

In her group photo with old colleagues, the background was Luofeng Institute.

It was a classical, old courtyard, clearly already aged even ten years ago.

Within the courtyard walls, tall maple trees could be seen, which seemed to be the origin of the name, Luofeng Institute.

”Does Mrs. Jin remember the address of that place?”

”I don’t remember, but our old colleagues might know. Should I ask them for you?”

”Is there a chance Director Jin knows the address?”

”Old Jin, he knows the place, but he might only know approximately, so it’s better for me to ask our colleagues.”

Jiang Xiao quietly exhaled a breath.

She could only tell herself not to be so hasty; they had already come this far, and so many years had passed. What’s a little more time?

Mrs. Jin was enthusiastic and quickly called up old colleagues, saying that most of them who had gone to Hongfeng Welfare Institute with her back in the day had already transferred elsewhere, so she needed to find out where they were now.

Many places still didn’t have phones, and finally, she got the driver’s address, but she would have to go in person since there was no phone.

At this moment, Jiang Xiao missed the era of mobile phones immensely.

How convenient it was to find someone, without needing to make the trip yourself.

”Old Zhang is at this address now, still working as a driver at the factory,” Mrs. Jin handed her a slip of paper with an address, ”Should I accompany you there tomorrow?”

”No, no, I just need to ask about the address of Luofeng Institute. Mrs. Jin doesn’t need to go with me; I can find Old Zhang myself.”

”Alright then.”

Leaving the Jin Family, Jiang Xiao glanced at the sky and couldn’t help but sigh.

”What’s wrong?” Ding Haijing saw her looking downcast and couldn’t help but ask.

”Old Ding, is it still possible to get to this place now? Or is it too late?”

Ding Haijing took the slip of paper and glanced at it, ”You’ve really chosen places one here, one there in the city.”

Indeed, Mrs. Jin just said that where Old Zhang transferred seemed quite far from here.

If they returned to drive there, it might already be past eleven at night.

To find someone and ask for an address, you can’t just show up at this hour, can you?

”It will have to wait for tomorrow.”

Back at home, Jiang Xiao took out that painting to look at it again. She felt that someone who could paint with such warmth must have a heart of genuine beauty.

Why did Shi Xiaoching say such words to Ah Liu back then?
