Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 2473: Chapter 2409: Her Diary

”That’s a good idea,” Meng Xinian nodded.

Not many people have the chance to travel everywhere. If someone paints the beautiful scenery from various places and holds an art exhibition, it should be quite appealing.

Chiang Xiao’s paintings are very delicate, with a subtle sense of grandeur. Her landscapes seem to breathe life, making them exceptionally beautiful.

He could already imagine how eye-catching it would be.

With this idea in mind, Chiang Xiao added it to her plans.

In this era, it’s not like twenty or thirty years later, where tourism thrives, transportation is well-connected, people are wealthier, smartphone photography is convenient, and there’s no internet to instantly receive information and see various images.

Her art exhibition would still have a considerable market.

After exploring a bit, they bought some trinkets and local specialties, left the town, and returned to the same forest as before.

Meng Xinian circled around, repeatedly confirming there was no one nearby, then asked Chiang Xiao to bring out the car.

Sitting in the car, Meng Xinian asked, ”Shall we go to D State?”

Chiang Xiao had initially planned to go.

They were already here, not far from D State, so why not go?

Moreover, she had specifically taken three days off for this.

But now she felt that the Meng Family matters were more important for the time being. At the very least, Meng Xinian needed to know about this, then check Nian Chengcheng’s diary to decide what to do next.

”Let’s not go for now, I have something to tell you.”

Going to D State certainly requires more than half a day’s time, right?

”You mentioned earlier that there was something, what is it?”

Chiang Xiao said, ”Do you remember Nian Che?”

”Yes.”

Upon hearing Chiang Xiao mention him, Meng Xinian’s eyes deepened.

”I went to the hospital this afternoon and saw him visiting Grandpa. He also went to Dad’s ward. I overheard their conversation and later asked Grandpa about some matters from back then.”

Meng Xinian frowned.

Chiang Xiao paused here, wanting to give him some time to digest.

”Did my dad say anything? Did he have any reaction?”

”When Nian Che went, Dad was still asleep. He woke up just as Nian Che was about to leave after talking to Grandpa. At first, he didn’t recognize him. When Grandpa mentioned Nian Che, he was shocked and surprised, and appeared somewhat disgusted, not wanting to talk about this person.”

”Hmph.”

Meng Xinian let out a cold laugh.

Chiang Xiao found his reaction rather odd.

”What did Nian Che say to the old man? What did you ask?”

Chiang Xiao recounted everything she heard.

Her memory was good, hardly missing a word.

Meng Xinian listened throughout without interrupting.

Once she finished, seeing him still silent, Chiang Xiao hesitated before asking, ”Do you want to look at your mother’s diary now?”

Meng Xinian wiped his face with his hand somewhat irritably.

”Brother Xinian?”

”Let’s look at it.”

”I’ll take it out then.”

Chiang Xiao took out the diary, handed it to him, and also took out a flashlight, ”Or do you want to look at it alone in Space?”

Initially, she didn’t intend for him to go to Space to read; she thought he might want to read the diary quietly by himself. If he went to Space, she might feel as if she could constantly watch him.

Meng Xinian replied, ”No need, I’ll read here.”

”Then I’ll head inside and draw a few Talisman Diagrams.”

”Okay.”

Chiang Xiao looked at him, ”Brother Xinian, if anything comes up, just call me.”

Seeing her somewhat worried expression, Meng Xinian chuckled lightly.
