Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 2179: Chapter 2115: What’s Her Background?

After arriving at Fuxi Restaurant, Jin Lei parked his bicycle, locked it, looked around, and said, ”They probably won’t be here so soon.”

”Yeah, let’s go. We’ll go inside and find the owner first.”

Chiang Xiao led Jin Lei inside, and soon someone enthusiastically came over to greet her.

A woman in her forties, dressed quite smartly, came out.

”This is the owner of Fuxi. I’ve been here before, so I recognize her.”

”Are you two... classmates?”

”Yes, we are from the Academy of Fine Arts,” said Chiang Xiao.

The owner smiled even more and said, ”Studying art, no wonder the young men are so handsome and the young women are so pretty. I’m the owner here; you can call me Aunt Rui if you don’t mind. Regulars all call me that.”

”Aunt Rui, we’d like to reserve two private rooms for this noon, is there availability?”

Jin Lei looked at Chiang Xiao in surprise.

What’s she doing?

Two private rooms?

The entire class could squeeze in, you know, and there are big private rooms here. The large ones can fit two tables, and the tables are big, twelve-seat round tables. Everyone knows each other and doesn’t mind squeezing in fourteen to sixteen people per table. That’s enough.

Our class isn’t that big, and it’s good to be lively.

What’s the point of splitting into two private rooms?

He was about to remind Chiang Xiao, but then heard her say, ”We need one large room for the backyard and one small private room in the front here.”

”We have one large room left, but it’s at the back.”

”Alright, I’ll take it.”

”Chiang Xiao...” Jin Lei tugged at her clothes.

Chiang Xiao said, ”Xiaolei, could you go back home and talk to Commander Meng? Bring my dad, grandparents, and grandpa out. Let them have lunch here at Fuxi today. Ask Commander Meng to call Teacher Liu and invite him here too. Oh, and the principal and your dad. Your dad’s helped me quite a bit, so invite him to lunch too.”

Jin Lei realized, ”The small private room is reserved for them, right?”

”Yes.”

”Alright, I’ll go right now.”

Jin Lei ran out joyfully.

Last night at home, when discussing Chiang Xiao’s treat today, his dad sourly mentioned that she wouldn’t invite him for a meal, saying it’s rare to even see her.

Now, this is perfect. His dad will definitely be happy and quickly change his clothes to head out.

After he left, Chiang Xiao flipped through the menu and ordered the same dishes for three tables. She wasn’t planning on being stingy, so she ordered three servings of Fuxi’s signature dishes.

The owner personally noted down the dishes beside her, occasionally glancing at her, feeling quite amazed.

Fuxi’s dishes aren’t cheap, but this young lady ordered without even blinking an eye, choosing the most expensive ones.

What’s the story behind this girl?

Is her family really wealthy?

She just mentioned inviting the principal, didn’t she?

The principal of the Academy of Fine Arts?

She seems to be a rich kid indeed.

”One table with twelve hot dishes and four cold dishes should be enough.” Chiang Xiao finished ordering only to find she ordered sixteen for one table.

However, classmates are at the age where they can devour food quickly. Having spent a lot of time at the school cafeteria, if the meal is outside and not enough, they might not be full.

”Classmate, because you ordered three tables of big dishes at once, we at Fuxi don’t prepare much of certain ingredients in advance, since they could spoil if not used within half a day. Therefore, you’ll need to pay a deposit.”

”Sure, how much?”

”Fifty yuan should do.”

Fifty yuan...

Chiang Xiao thought it would be two or three hundred yuan.
