Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 2143: Chapter 2079: Business Is Booming

The tea snacks have been sold for so many years, so it’s reasonable to add a few more flavors.

But as for the taro flavor, how should she prepare it?

Chiang Xiao rested her chin in her hand and thought for a moment, ”It’s not impossible, I’ll think of a way. Is this why Du Jinruo came to you?”

”She came to buy tea snacks again today. She said she has a friend who really likes taro-flavored food, and now that friend is in the hospital. She wants to fulfill his wish, so she hopes we can make a few boxes of taro-flavored tea snacks in the next couple of days. She’s willing to pay a higher price if necessary.”

Didn’t Du Jinruo mention before that she’s interested in someone else?

Could it be that she wants to buy the taro-flavored tea snacks to give to that man?

As Chiang Xiao thought about this, she was a bit curious and wondered what kind of man could win Du Jinruo’s affection.

She thought Du Jinruo had pretty high standards.

First, there was Meng Xinian. After Meng Xinian, despite so many men in the Capital City to choose from, she hadn’t picked anyone else. Now someone finally appeared, and she was going out of her way for him. This must mean he really is outstanding.

”I told her that I’m not the owner of this shop, so I need to ask the owner’s opinion. Of course, she also said that if there’s really no taro flavor, she hopes to buy more boxes of tea powder.”

Chiang Xiao snapped back to reality, ”Are we running out of tea powder?”

”Yes!” Cheng Qiulian sighed, ”I was planning to find you tonight no matter what, we’ve been out of tea powder for two days. When can we restock? We need to restock everything, not just tea powder and tea snacks.”

Saying this, she went to get some account books and placed them in front of Chiang Xiao.

”Since you’re here now, take a look.”

Chiang Xiao’s head started to ache at the sight of the account books.

But she knew she couldn’t avoid looking at them.

She rubbed her temples and began to seriously go through the account books.

What she found was astonishing.

In just one month, the shop had made a net profit of 36,000 yuan!

In this era, that’s truly remarkable.

”This was even after we had to put off a lot of takeout orders due to stock shortages,” Cheng Qiulian said. ”I know we shouldn’t have turned away business, but we had to make sure our dine-in guests had food first. This way, our shop always looks busy, which is great for publicity.”

Chiang Xiao nodded.

”I hope you’re not upset with me; I should have told you about the stock shortages sooner.”

Cheng Qiulian was now a bit regretful, feeling that she still lacked experience. In handling this matter, she had first treated herself as Chiang Xiao’s teacher’s wife instead of her employee.

Thinking of herself as the teacher’s wife, she prioritized making sure the shop made less money over everything else, believing nothing was more important than Chiang Xiao’s father’s surgery and health. Chiang Xiao should have been focusing on taking care of her father, and if business issues burdened her, it might exhaust her.

So she had kept adjusting things in the shop instead of rushing Chiang Xiao.

If she had considered herself as Chiang Xiao’s employee first, she would have informed Chiang Xiao about the shop issues regardless, leaving it to her to decide how to handle it.

She only needed to follow orders.

So in this matter, Cheng Qiulian reflected on her actions.

In the future, she now knew better how she should handle things.
