Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 2140: Chapter 2076: Hands-Off Boss

”You didn’t even bother to ask, did you?”

Liu Guoying looked at her in disbelief.

Chiang Xiao innocently said, ”Teacher, I’ve been in the hospital a lot lately, you know this. How could I have the time to manage the shop?”

”So that’s it, your teacher’s wife mentioned trying to see if she could hold out for a few days before reporting to you. Looks like she was worried you wouldn’t be able to make time,” Liu Guoying shook his head and said, ”Your shop’s business is so good. Just yesterday, your teacher’s wife told me some flavors of pastries are already out of stock. If someone wants them, she’s trying to push other flavors as substitutes. Also, there’s only about three days’ worth of tea left. If you don’t restock soon, you’ll have customers but nothing to sell.”

Chiang Xiao was quite surprised.

Before she went to Country Y, she had already stocked a lot of inventory in her shop, thinking it would last at least three months.

It’s only been a month, and it’s almost sold out?

She had prepared the stock for an already very good business volume.

Could it be that Youqingwei’s business is really that good?

”Oh my, if everything is really sold out, wouldn’t this month mean I’ve made a huge profit?”

You know, the cost of those things is almost negligible. Now, the cost is basically just the shop’s utilities and labor.

And those items are priced very high.

If everything sells, I’ll really make a lot of money in a month.

”Well, I don’t know. Your teacher’s wife didn’t tell me these things. Didn’t you agree to settle the accounts once a month? I think you should step in and manage it. You can’t just leave all the work to your teacher’s wife; I can’t agree to that.”

”Alright, alright, I know you care for your wife, okay? I’ll go check the shop in a bit.”

”Glad you know. What are you here for?” Liu Guoying didn’t believe she was just here to see him; there must be something up.

Chiang Xiao hesitated for a moment and said to Liu Guoying, ”It’s nothing much. Teacher, do you know about the new staff member at our school? A young woman named Ji Yuzhi.”

”Oh, you mean her?”

”Teacher knows?” Chiang Xiao’s eyes widened.

”Of course, from Capital City University.”

”Yeah, but why would someone working at Capital City University come to our Art Academy?”

”Isn’t that normal?” Liu Guoying didn’t think much of it, ”At Capital City University, she was just an ordinary employee, but now our Art Academy needed a new director for the archives room.”

That’s several levels up.

This time, Chiang Xiao was truly stunned.

Director?

No wonder earlier she heard the dormitory supervisor asking Ji Yuzhi about how she managed to secure such a difficult position, wondering what kind of connections she had made.

Even staff members and faculty family members at their school would fight fiercely for it.

”Do you know how she got that position?”

”Why, do you know her?”

”We’ve only met once,” Chiang Xiao feared that if she didn’t clarify, Liu Guoying might think she was familiar with Ji Yuzhi and wouldn’t be cautious around her in the future. So she carefully explained, ”I was on the same flight back from Country Y with Ji Yuzhi. But on the plane, I noticed she got very friendly with a man, and I felt that man was a bit dangerous. I just saw Ji Yuzhi chatting with our dormitory supervisor, who is also her relative, so I thought of asking.”

”You mean she’s someone who might easily get close to potentially dangerous men?” Liu Guoying immediately got what she was implying.

Chiang Xiao nodded.
