Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 1694: Chapter 1630: Bias

”What does this have to do with Aunt Ge?” Ge Dejun felt a little awkward and glanced at Chiang Songhai.

Talking about this in front of the children, he felt somewhat embarrassed.

Actually, Chiang Xiao already knew what had happened back then.

Liu Pei, on the other hand, was not that thoughtful. She only knew that Chiang Xiao wanted to understand this matter, so she should tell her everything she knew at that time.

”How is it not related?” She also glanced at Chiang Songhai, ”Don’t you know what our mom is like? She was the eldest in the family when she was young, always taught by her parents to take good care of her younger siblings. Aunt Ge was practically raised by her; although they were sisters, it felt like mother and daughter. Comparing with our eldest sister, don’t you think mom has always favored Aunt Ge?”

Talking about this, she also felt that Grandma Ge was somewhat indescribable.

Treating her younger sister even better than her own daughter, it’s truly rare in this world.

But Grandma Ge indeed was such a person.

Aunt Ge was much younger than her, truly raised by her, so Grandma Ge doted on this younger sister very much.

Back then, Aunt Ge fancied Chiang Songhai and wanted to marry him.

Grandma Ge even told her own daughter to compromise and give Chiang Songhai to Aunt Ge.

How could Ge Liutao agree to that?

She had true feelings for Chiang Songhai; if Songhai himself had fallen for another girl, perhaps she wouldn’t have been that heartbroken.

But to give Chiang Songhai to her own younger aunt, and have to call him uncle-in-law in the future? How could she endure that?

So, for the first time in her life, she didn’t listen to her mother and married Chiang Songhai.

Because of this, Aunt Ge went through life and death struggles. Seeing that, Grandma Ge, in a fit of emotion, severed the mother-daughter relationship with her daughter.

But hadn’t this matter already passed? Later, how did the issue with Chiang Qingzhu come up?

Liu Pei said, ”Aunt Ge never found a partner, always remained a spinster. During those days, she came to stay at home, coinciding with the registration and verification matter. At that time, officials came to our house to verify the population and register information. There was another incident; our neighbor had someone missing for a long time who hadn’t returned, right? Then that person said they dreamed that their father had fallen into a river and drowned outside. Anyway, they hadn’t returned for many years, probably really died outside. Then the official said, ’Well, this needs to be registered, do they register as missing or deceased?’ That person just told them to register as deceased.”

Ge Dejun thought about it, seemed like there was such a thing.

Chiang Songhai also felt somewhat awkward.

Bringing this up in front of his granddaughter, where could he place his old face?

But seeing Chiang Xiao without any particular expression, he silently continued to listen.

Liu Pei said, ”Actually, I know he was afraid his father might come back and take back those two rooms at home, and give them to his brother.”

She said with some disdain, ”He occupied those two rooms completely, forcing his brother to live in the cowshed. Those two officials even asked around to confirm his statement and registered that person as deceased. At that time, mom and Aunt Ge heard this very clearly, even asked in great detail. Later, I saw they seemed a bit strange, wandered for half a day not knowing where they went. When they returned, they laughed saying, ’Watch him have no children or heirs in the future, to see who will take care of him when he’s old. He didn’t listen back then; let him regret it to death in the future.’
