Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 853: Chapter 854 Golden Tea

Old Meng glared at him and said, ”You know nothing, kid! One of these days, when I’m in the mood, I’ll have a proper chat with you! Anyway, that old family house of ours absolutely cannot fall into anyone else’s hands!”

At this point, it was so late that if this grandfather and grandson kept talking, neither of them would get any rest.

Chiang Xiao hurriedly said to her maternal grandparents, ”Grandpa and Grandma, didn’t you prepare some food for Grandpa? Let’s serve it quickly. After eating, everyone should rest, and we can have a good chat tomorrow.”

Once she spoke, Old Meng immediately nodded, ”Yes, yes, yes, I’ll listen to my granddaughter-in-law!”

Now he felt Chiang Xiao was good, even better than his own grandson!

After all the hustle and bustle, when they could finally lie down, it was already four o’clock in the morning.

Old Meng was indeed exhausted and slept straight through to the next afternoon.

Upon waking, he felt clear-headed and refreshed.

The pillow and blanket had a faint scent, indistinct, not at all garish, but a comforting fragrance that was subtle and elusive.

Old Meng felt that he had never slept so soundly before.

Stepping out of the room, he was greeted by a bright and spacious living room where sunlight poured in through the large windows, creating a neat and bright space that instantly lifted his spirits.

”Grandpa, did you wake up?” asked Chiang Xiao as she walked over from the kitchen with a tray in hand, on which sat a kettle and several white porcelain cups.

”Yes, I’m up, I’m up. This has to be the first time I’ve slept in, Little Little, you can’t make fun of Grandpa,” Old Meng said with a chuckle.

Chiang Xiao pressed her lips together and smiled.

She had drawn the Nourishing Talisman on his pillowcase and duvet cover. Old Meng had been feeling unwell these past few days, both physically and mentally, so naturally, he would sleep soundly until his body had recovered enough to wake up.

It seemed his constitution was still quite strong; she originally thought he wouldn’t wake up until after lunchtime.

”How could I make fun of Grandpa? Grandpa, take a seat, I’ll pour you a cup of tea.”

She had just gone to brew some flower tea.

However, the flower tea she made was different from the usual kinds, as she had concocted it herself in the Space. It wasn’t just flower tea.

This time, she used the Golden Camellia flowers, added a little bit of Da Hong Pao tea leaves, a few Ginseng Roots, and these ingredients had been pre-soaked in Spiritual Spring Water.

After many trials and finding the right proportions, the tea she made now had a fragrant aroma and a fresh, mellow taste, and it tasted exceptionally good.

Moreover, this was much better than her simply brewing Ganoderma water or Ginseng Water.

If she just brewed water, they would taste it right away, and if they were to drink it for long, they would surely become suspicious; how could there always be an endless supply of Ginseng and Lingzhi to consume?

Brewing it as a flower tea was just perfect.

Ordinary people definitely couldn’t identify the ingredients, and it could still help nourish their bodies.

”Little Little, Grandpa Meng just got up and hasn’t eaten anything. Can he drink tea now?” Chiang Songhai, who had just plucked a few green onions from outside and entered the house, heard Chiang Xiao offering tea and quickly asked.

Chiang Xiao set the tray on the coffee table and answered, ”It’s fine. The tea I made isn’t just any flower tea; it’s a nourishing tea. Grandpa shouldn’t drink too much, just half a cup for now to warm up his stomach. It will make eating later more enjoyable.”

Old Meng had already been eager to try it just from her explanation.

From the pastries alone, he had developed a lot of confidence in Chiang Xiao’s culinary skills; if the pastries were that delicious, surely the tea she brewed would be fantastic as well.

”Grandpa, you should wash your hands and come have a cup too,” Chiang Xiao said as she first poured half a cup of tea for Old Meng.

The cup she prepared for Old Meng also bore the Nourishing Talisman, which she had crafted herself.
