Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 852: Chapter 853 Crippled or Paralyzed?

He now looked at Chiang Xiao with even more satisfaction.

Where else could he find such a wonderful granddaughter-in-law!

Coming out to meet him after 2 a.m., she even thoughtfully brought steaming, fragrant chicken soup!

And her martial skills were excellent, too, a single kick had sent that man flying!

Such a granddaughter-in-law, there probably wasn’t a second one like her in the whole world!

Old Meng’s heart warmed, he patted Chiang Xiao’s shoulder and let out a heavy sigh.

”Grandpa, don’t think too much for now, Brother Xinian is still waiting for you at home.”

”Is Xinian’s injury really that severe?” Old Meng grew anxious as the topic of Meng Xinian’s injury was raised. ”Where is he hurt? That brat didn’t explain clearly over the phone.”

Because of this, he had a huge argument with his son.

Chiang Xiao quickly said, ”He injured his right calf, but it’s not that serious, the doctor said it will get better with some care.”

Injured his leg?

Seeing that Chiang Xiao didn’t seem too worried, Old Meng felt slightly relieved, but thinking about the tri-province special pit competition made him feel like he was going to die of anger.

How bad it was would have to wait until he saw it with his own eyes.

Chu Liang returned before long.

”I’ve handed that person over to the staff at the train station, they’ll handle it.”

Mingtian, he would follow up on the results of the handling, and if he was not satisfied, he would take matters into his own hands!

To dare strike Old Meng, they must have the gall of a bear and the heart of a leopard!

Nevertheless, once the train station staff knew of Old Meng’s identity, they all promised they would deal with that man properly, and Chu Liang believed they wouldn’t dare to let him off easily.

”Then, let’s hurry back. Thank you for your trouble, Brother Chu.”

”No need to be polite, no need to be polite, Old Meng, let’s head back then. Please sit tight.”

Once they arrived home and Old Meng entered the door, he saw Meng Xinian seated in a wheelchair, and tears instantly sprang to his eyes.

”You rascal, is this paralysis or a limp? Didn’t you promise me that you would come back safe and sound, without getting hurt? You rascal, you’re still trying to hide it from me over the phone.”

Meng Xinian: ”...”

Chiang Xiao pursed her lips and gave him a glance as well.

Indeed, he had promised to take good care of himself, yet he returned in such a condition.

If it hadn’t been for her, who knows what state he would be in right now.

”Old man, with the New Year approaching, can’t you hope for something good for me?” Meng Xinian said, sounding quite irritated with Old Meng, ”I’m neither paralyzed nor crippled, and it’ll be all right after the injury heals a bit. It’s no big deal!”

That set Old Meng off, ”You say it’s no big deal? Do you still care about this year’s Champion Elite or not?”

After shouting this, he then noticed Chiang Songhai and Ge Liutao standing to the side.

Old Meng immediately left Meng Xinian behind and strode towards Chiang Songhai, grasping his hand firmly, and said excitedly, ”Fellow countryman! It’s you! The lifesaver who rescued so many of us back then!”

Chiang Songhai was quite moved to see him, too.

”Yes, yes, it’s me, no, no, I didn’t do much back then...” Chiang Songhai was somewhat at a loss for words. ”Alliance Officer, you still look hearty and strong?”

”What Alliance Officer! We are family now! Just call me Old Meng, and I’ll call you Brother Chiang, how about that?” Old Meng patted Chiang Songhai’s arm and sized him up, ”Brother Chiang, you don’t have a single white hair!”

Chiang Songhai could only put on a smile.

What was he to say?

Meng Xinian glanced at Chiang Xiao and said, ”Old man, the water is good in G Province. If you get less upset, you might live even younger.”
