Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 787: Chapter 788: Meeting the Parents

Not long after the start of the school term, Chiang Songhai and Ge Liutao heard Chiang Xiao talk about her deskmate, saying that he was very good-looking, which caused the two of them quite a bit of concern for some time because Chiang Xiao had not mentioned Meng Xinian for so long; they were really worried that due to her young age, people around her could easily replace those who had left.

They were always a bit worried that Chiang Xiao had forgotten about Meng Xinian.

And seeing Yu Hang only made them worry even more.

”Uncle Hai, this kid named Yu Hang is even better looking than Little described last time,” Ge Liutao took the opportunity while cutting pears to pull Chiang Songhai aside and out onto the roof terrace.

Moreover, Yu Hang had come shoulder to shoulder with Chiang Xiao.

It must be said that boys and girls of similar ages standing together like this does make for a rather harmonious scene.

Unlike when Meng Xinian and Little are together, people often mistake them for siblings.

Now they are not only in the same class but also deskmates, facing each other day and night. What if Little really falls for Yu Hang? What then?

”He is quite good-looking, quite good-looking,” Chiang Songhai was also somewhat at a loss, not knowing what to do.

Of course, they liked Meng Xinian, and had even decided he was their granddaughter’s future husband, but if Little liked Yu Hang, they could hardly oppose it. Of course, it was still all about her own feelings.

The honest old couple were extremely worried.

They had even thought about how they would apologize to Meng Xinian if Chiang Xiao ever wanted to break off the engagement.

Chiang Xiao had no idea they were capable of such wild speculation. After inviting Yu Hang and Xi Minghui to sit in the living room, she said to them, ”Please have a seat, I’ll go get the painting.”

After she went into the room, Xi Minghui elbowed Yu Hang and teasingly asked, ”Hey, are you nervous?”

Yu Hang glanced at him sideways, ”It’s just looking at a painting, what’s there for me to be nervous about?”

”Don’t play dumb, you know that’s not what I’m talking about.”

”I don’t know what you mean.”

”Meeting the parents, meeting the parents!” Xi Minghui whispered, ”You need to behave well later, make sure the grandparents like you!”

”Shut up!” Yu Hang punched him, but when he saw Chiang Songhai and Ge Liutao enter the living room, he quickly stood up, greeted them, and took over the plate of pears from Ge Liutao’s hands, saying, ”Thank you, Grandpa and Grandma!”

Xi Minghui: ”...”

Cousin, isn’t this showing off your charm?

You’re just short of wagging your tail like little Haba!

Chiang Songhai and Ge Liutao’s hearts jumped at his calling them Grandpa and Grandma.

Just as Chiang Xiao came out, she unceremoniously said to Yu Hang, ”They are my Grandpa and Grandma! You can call them ’Big Master’ and ’Big Mistress’!”

Yes, yes.

Chiang Songhai and Ge Liutao wished they could echo out loud, but this did not quite fit their personalities, and they were also worried about hurting Yu Hang’s self-esteem, so they just smiled somewhat unnaturally.

After Chiang Xiao said those words, she couldn’t help but think of Tyrant Meng.

She remembered when Du Jinruo called Old Meng ’Grandpa,’ Tyrant Meng had snapped at her just like that.

Chiang Xiao felt she must have been corrupted by him; otherwise, why would it be wrong for her classmate, who came home with her, to call them Grandpa and Grandma?

This was perfectly normal!

But with Tyrant Meng’s existence, calling them that felt somewhat off to her.

Yu Hang paused for a moment, then smiled with a bright and sunny expression, ”Big Master, Big Mistress.”

”Eh, eh, please sit, sit down.”

Without thinking, Chiang Songhai asked, ”Why don’t you two students stay for dinner tonight?”

”Sure!”

”No need, they will leave right after looking at the painting.”

Yu Hang and Chiang Xiao spoke at the same time.
