Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 768: Chapter 769 Eyes That Spark Electricity

Chiang Songhai and Ge Liutao usually didn’t enter her room, so they had no idea when she started to grow an orchid.

However, the presence of the orchid couldn’t be concealed, because Chiang Songhai and Ge Liutao smelled a very subtle fragrance of flowers when they passed by her door.

”Little, are you raising flowers in your room? Do you need help watering?” Ge Liutao immediately asked.

Chewing an orange, Chiang Xiao shook her head, ”No need, no need, I planted it before but it didn’t bloom until now. It’s an orchid.”

Since she had also raised orchids in the house at Osmanthus Alley in Peace Town, Ge Liutao didn’t pay much attention to it.

When Chiang Songhai asked about her day at school, Chiang Xiao shared a few things with them to talk more and let them know some of the situations she faced at school.

She unintentionally ended up mentioning her new deskmate.

”My deskmate is a really handsome boy named Yu Hang. I guess he’s not a local; he was probably born in Suzhou and Hangzhou.” Well, this was, of course, her wild guess, but Yu Hang’s accent indeed didn’t seem like that of someone from G Province.

”What’s the use for a boy to be so good-looking?”

Chiang Songhai shook his head, smiling without thinking much of it, while Ge Liutao couldn’t help but ask, ”Is he really that good-looking?

”Yeah, he really is quite handsome, and also quite tall, about 1.75 meters I guess, and he’ll probably grow taller. If he grows to 1.8 meters, once he gets to university, he’ll certainly be campus-hunk material. His eyes seem to sparkle when he talks to you.”

”What do you mean his eyes sparkle?”

Chiang Xiao didn’t expect her grandmother to ask in such detail and couldn’t help but laugh, playfully saying, ”Grandma, just think about it, when you first met Grandpa, and the moment your heart thumped looking at him, didn’t you feel like his eyes were exceptionally bright, like they were shining, making you too shy to look? That’s what sparkling means.”

Chiang Songhai immediately felt a bit embarrassed, ”You girl, using your grandma and me as a punchline.”

Ge Liutao, however, was a bit nervous, and when Chiang Xiao got up to wash her hands in the kitchen, she expressed her concerns to Chiang Songhai, ”What if Little develops a liking for that boy with the sparkling eyes who she keeps saying is good-looking?”

It was then that Chiang Songhai realized why she had been asking in such detail, ”Could that really happen?”

”Why couldn’t it? Didn’t you hear Elder Sister Sun downstairs today? Her grandson is also in high school, attends First High, and on the eve of school reopening, she was asking around for help to transfer him to Second High.”

She had happened to walk with Elder Sister Sun when going to buy meat and had greeted each other when moving in, so they recognized each other.

Then Elder Sister Sun chatted with her all the way.

Upon hearing that Chiang Xiao had started the first year of high school, she also started talking about her grandson.

Chiang Songhai asked, ”Why?”

”She said her grandson started dating a girl from his class in junior high, who also attends First High. The Sun Family wanted to separate them, so they were trying to transfer their grandson to Second High, to get them into different schools.”

They weren’t familiar with the term ”early romance,” but they still felt worried after hearing this.

”They got together that young?” Chiang Songhai was somewhat surprised.

”Exactly! Elder Sister Sun said, that age is just when they easily start dating classmates. Think about it, they are together every day, attending classes, and also playing together after school, isn’t that how they easily start dating?” Ge Liutao whispered.
