Supreme Warrior in the City

”There’s definitely something wrong in that darkness. Since this person can transmit his voice to me so easily, it means if he wanted to kill me, it would be as simple as lifting a finger!” Su Yang said in a deep voice, ”The reason he hasn’t killed me is simple: he doesn’t want to. Or rather, he doesn’t want to—for now. So, even if I enter the Chaos now, it won’t be dangerous!”

The group exchanged glances and remained silent for a long time before Qi’er nodded, ”I think Brother Su is right. This person may not necessarily be the Heavenly Venerable. Also, the fact that he can send a voice transmission to Brother Su without us noticing indicates that he is indeed more powerful than us. If he truly wanted to kill Brother Su, we wouldn’t be able to stop him. Since that’s the case, it doesn’t matter if Brother Su is in the Chaos or outside it, the situation is the same! Given this, isn’t it better to take this opportunity to investigate what exactly is happening in that darkness? It’s far better than staying here and knowing nothing!”

”I think so too!” the Demon Lord nodded as well.

The others exchanged looks once more, and had nothing to add.

”Since that’s the case, let’s proceed this way!” Heaven Slayer nodded, ”I’ll bring the Buddha Venerable and Palace Master Yu Ling to guard the Chaos to ensure the strongest among the Guardian God’s people don’t enter. Everyone else, stay in the Nine Realms and protect Ye Wantong!”

With these arrangements made, everyone began to act.

Heaven Slayer, Qi’er, and Buddha Venerable accompanied Su Yang to enter the Chaos. In truth, Heaven Slayer, Qi’er, and Buddha Venerable did not enter the Chaos; they merely stood guard to prevent the strongest among the Guardian God’s from entering.

As for what was happening inside the Chaos, it was entirely up to Su Yang to investigate alone, as Heaven Slayer and the other two did not enter to assist.

This time, Su Yang brought the Chaos Sparrow with him. Despite his understanding of the Chaos Law, in the Chaos, the one truly at home was still the Chaos Sparrow, being a native of the Chaos after all!

After the previous great war in the Chaos, Su Yang’s understanding of the Chaos deepened significantly. Now, he could also easily discern any direction within the Chaos.

With a further understanding of the Chaos, Su Yang came to know that the Chaos could be both infinitely vast and infinitely small. The Chaos has no boundaries; one can enter the Great World from the Chaos just by tearing through the Chaos.

However, if you cannot tear through the Chaos, you will never enter the Great World and will endlessly wander within the Chaos.

Although Su Yang had a greater understanding of the Chaos, some of the secret areas within it were only known by its inhabitants.

By bringing the Chaos Sparrow in, it could also inform Su Yang of any special or peculiar places within the Chaos.

The man and sparrow flew slowly through the Chaos, their destination being the place where Su Yang had previously found the Chaos Flower. Yet, Su Yang was in no hurry to get there because he knew that place likely held no more clues. Thus, he saw more value in taking his time to advance and investigate the special aspects of the Chaos along the way.

At this pace, it took Su Yang about a hundred years to arrive at where he had previously discovered the Chaos Flower.

As Su Yang suspected, there were no clues left in that place.

After the Chaos Flower was plucked, its roots retreated into the darkness, which also slowly disappeared. In this region, not a single clue was left behind, as if nothing had ever happened.

Though there was nothing discovered, Su Yang was not in a hurry to leave. He sat down cross-legged at the spot where the darkness had once been, closed his eyes, emptied his mind, and quietly perceived everything around him.

The whispers and murmurs continued to echo in Su Yang’s ears, no different from before.

Su Yang was in no rush. He sat there quietly, as if he were in deep meditation.

Nobody knows how much time passed before Su Yang suddenly opened his eyes, and his expression turned grave instantly.

Without a second thought, he immediately tore through the Chaos and surged into the Great World.

With Heaven Slayer outside the Chaos guarding, they sensed Su Yang’s emergence and his direction. So, upon Su Yang’s exit from the Chaos, they quickly convened there to meet him.

”Su Alliance Leader, any discoveries?” the Buddha Venerable asked in surprise, taken aback by Su Yang’s sudden emergence.

Su Yang’s expression was solemn, and he said in a deep voice, ”Yes, I did make a discovery!”

”What discovery?” the three asked in concert.

Su Yang took a deep breath and spoke gravely, ”I discovered that the voice speaking into my ear isn’t a single voice but rather several voices mixed together!”

”What?” The three widened their eyes simultaneously; this was indeed a significant discovery.

”Not one person, but several?” Heaven Slayer frowned, ”So, it wasn’t the last Heavenly Venerable speaking into your ear?”

Su Yang nodded, ”It likely wasn’t him!”

”If it wasn’t that Heavenly Venerable, then who could it be?” Qi’er was surprised, ”Or rather, who else could possibly have such immense power?”

”The crucial point is, the speaker has aligned with the Guardian God!” The Buddha Venerable said, ”He’s always trying to beguile people, to convert them to the Heavenly Dao, which will certainly be a major enemy of ours in the future!”

Su Yang nodded, as this was his greatest concern as well. The sudden emergence of several powerful figures allied with the Guardian God was indeed a calamity for the Human Clan.

”What is the darkness by the Chaos Flower’s root? What’s inside it?” Su Yang couldn’t help but ask.

Heaven Slayer and the other two shook their heads simultaneously, ”No one knows.”

”You haven’t researched it?” Su Yang asked curiously, ”The Chaos Flower blooms once every hundred thousand years, appearing alongside this darkness every time. Hasn’t anyone researched this over the years?”

”No!” Heaven Slayer shook his head, ”Each time the Chaos Flower blooms is when the strongest of the Human Clan and the Guardian God clash fiercely. Neither side wants the other to seize the Chaos Flower, leading to great battles in the Chaos. The strongest of both sides do not want the other near the Chaos Flower, let alone investigating that darkness.”

”And every great battle ends with the Chaos Flower being shattered. Once the Chaos Flower shatters, its roots and the darkness disappear, leaving no time for research. Over the years, people haven’t been able to study the Chaos Flower in-depth, let alone the darkness!”

”I see,” Su Yang sighed helplessly. Without studies, the secrets of the darkness remained unexplored.

”However, someone once touched the darkness of the Chaos Flower,” the Buddha Venerable suddenly said.

”Oh?” Su Yang’s eyes instantly widened, ”Who touched it? What happened? Is there anything special about that darkness?”
