Supreme Warrior in the City

Su Yang furrowed his brows, looking at the captain in confusion. He really couldn’t figure out what the captain’s words meant.

Why can’t they enter Bright City during this time? The Guardian Gods can enter, but they can’t? What kind of rule is this?

And why did the Guardian Gods choose to enter Bright City at this time? Does it mean there’s some secret alliance between the Guardian Gods and Bright City?

As if noticing what Su Yang was thinking, the captain said coldly, ”Don’t look at me like that. We have no collusion with the Guardian Gods. It’s just that during this time, no city will let you in; it’s the rule of all forces, not just Bright City’s rule. You’ll understand what’s going on soon enough!”

Su Yang was even more astonished. All cities have this rule? What exactly is happening?

”Only during this time?” Su Yang asked.

”Yes!” The captain nodded.

”Roughly how long will this last?”

”Within two years!” The captain paused: ”However, you don’t need to worry about the Guardian Gods. As I said earlier, if they leave Bright City, I will inform you.”

Su Yang was silent for a while; the captain had explained things to this extent, so it would be inappropriate to say more. And now it’s clear, Bright City is indeed under strict prohibition. Under such circumstances, entering Bright City is practically impossible. Conversely, if you annoy the people of Bright City, they won’t have a pleasant outcome either.

”If that’s the case, thank you!” Su Yang cupped his hands and looked around a bit bewilderedly: ”Then during this time, we... we’ll just wait here?”

”Don’t wait here!” The captain waved his hand: ”You should head that way; about two days’ journey, there’s a small town where you can temporarily stay. Of course, since you don’t have a Spiritual Source, you might have no place to reside, but you can linger there. If anything comes up, I will send someone to inform you at that small town!”

Su Yang was even more amazed; encountering a Bright City was already astonishing enough. Who would have thought there would be a small town near Bright City? What are all these cities for?

Of course, Su Yang didn’t ask much. After all, these were guards of Bright City; asking too much would seem like trying to uncover Bright City’s secrets, which could lead to trouble.

”Thank you!” Su Yang cupped his hands in gratitude.

The captain nodded, said nothing more, and led his men away directly.

The three Crystal Skulls approached Su Yang, and the Great City Lord said softly, ”Boss, what do we do now?”

”Let’s go check out that small town first,” Su Yang said. ”Even though those people left, they’re probably still watching us. If we don’t go to that small town, it might arouse their suspicion!”

”True enough!” The Great City Lord nodded.

Su Yang said, ”Going to that small town, we can also investigate Bright City’s situation, and maybe even figure out why those Guardian Gods came to Bright City!”

The group left directly, heading straight for the small town the captain had mentioned.

Just as Su Yang said, even though the captain left with his team, in truth, they did not go far but were secretly watching Su Yang and the others.

When they saw Su Yang and the four heading towards the small town, these people didn’t follow them.

Beside them, a man was somewhat puzzled and whispered, ”Captain, these four people have unknown origins. Do you really believe what they said?”

The captain glanced at him: ”What does it matter whether I believe or not?”

The man hesitated, then whispered, ”Captain, soon... soon it’s Spiritual Birth Day. Right now, all main cities are strictly sealed off. At the same time, all main cities have sent spies to investigate other cities. In such circumstances, do you believe these four people of unknown origins who claim they want to kill the Guardian Gods?”

”Do you think those four are spies?” The captain countered.

”Whether they are or not, there’s always a possibility!” The man said gravely: ”We can’t be careless with such people. Better err on the side of caution; Spiritual Birth Day is approaching, we can’t afford any mistakes!”

”Do you know how many spies the main cities sent to us? Do you know how many spies are dispatched during each Spiritual Birth Day? Kill them? Can you really kill them all?” The captain said coldly: ”Besides, have you ever seen such brainless spies? Directly charging into the main city; if they were indeed spies, how many do you think would act so flagrantly? If you were a spy, would you do this?”

”Uh...” The man scratched his head, murmured: ”That... that is indeed a good point, but these four people with unknown origins still... still need attention...”

”Pay attention, sure, but that doesn’t mean we attack just because we meet people!” The captain said sternly: ”Even though there are only four of them, if we want to kill people, we shouldn’t waste our strength on it, right? This Spiritual Birth Day, if it does not occur in Bright City this time, then before the next Spiritual Birth Day, we’ll have to tighten our belts. So during this time, keep a low profile and stop harping on fighting and killing. Every Spiritual Birth Day sees a few main cities wiped out; you know this happens, save your strength to survive, got it?”

The man immediately nodded: ”Yes, captain!”

”Also, stop continually talking about killing spies. Real spies may have already entered the main city. It’s always like this during each Spiritual Birth Day; spies are impossible to kill entirely!” The captain said sternly: ”Our task is to guard outside and prevent any problematic individuals from entering the main city, that’s all. Don’t waste your energy on matters beyond your duties!”

”Yes, captain!” The man responded again, and the others beside him also nodded.

...

Su Yang and the four others did not know they almost got mistaken as spies and dealt with.

Following the captain’s directions, Su Yang and his group arrived outside a small town after two days of traveling.

Although it was called a small town, it actually looked like a small village.

”I really didn’t expect, within the main channels of the Land of Chaos, there are such large main cities and such small towns?” The Great City Lord wondered: ”How are these cities built? I don’t see any construction materials in this passage!”

”The Saint Emperors who come here all have Space Artifacts. Maybe they’re storing some materials inside those Space Artifacts.” Su Yang said: ”As more accumulates, these cities get built!”
